I think mandatory punishments for things is pretty stupid as well. The point of jail, probation etc. is to both punish and rehabilitate. In the case of a single parent, depending on the crime, punishments such as community service would make way more sense. There is punishment, hopefully rehabilitation and the community benefits.
This can’t be stated enough. This is not, at least of the surface, some irresponsible idiot making horrible decisions. This is someone legit getting screwed over.
Holy shit, this is insane. Absolutely no pussy pass is involved here, she should get a “this is insane for any human being” pass. What horrible logic birthed this ridiculous law into being?!
