I think there is a reason that it's that way. Women have limited "eggs" to reproduce and men have infinite sperm to give. So men try to get laid as much as possible, and women act as the selectors of good genes to pair with. I don't think men and women are equal and that's about it. Yes.

Eh, it helps the reader draw a parallel between the consent they'd expect (for the woman) and the consent not needed (for the child). I'd say it's pretty effective at making the reader realise what the message is, probably not very effective at convincing anyone to change though.

I'm in the UK now. I know this may come as a surprise but my previous comment was hyperbole, I've never felt at risk. Any rise in crime is down to the defunding of the police force, before our current government got in crime was at an all time low and guns were still banned. If I said someone stabbed me and all I had was a wound and my word it was them they wouldn't be convicted because the prosecution would not be able to proove it was them.
