I believe OP simply stated what was his experience in a particular situation. Since I had the luck to spend abroad most of my life, I wanted to share my experience as well. As previously said, in many situations where Indian girls where also present, I and other people (of different country of origin) all agreed in maybe being attracted by them at a physical level but to be turned down by their accent. They really gave me a hard time to understand what many of them were saying. However, when going out for some drinks and chatting with some girls, even though some of them were really cute, their accent was a real turn-down for me and my friends.
