I can only speak for my unit, but we don’t interact much with insurance - that’s mostly done by case management and social work. I’d break down my job thusly... I love it. I’m a nurse and night shifts are a bit more relaxed since we don’t have all the doctors, specialists, therapists, family, corporate, management, etc around. On the downside, we don’t have as much support if things go tits-up. Plus the patients are asleep part of the time. We also get paid extra for working nights and more male nurses work nights where I am, so there’s not as much drama as on days. I think it would depend on your field, though.
