She made it harder than it had to be That’s what she said - Michael Scott

Thanks. Just to be clear, I was joking when I said I should take her to court. I just get the satisfaction knowing that she wasted her own money too

My man. I feel you. Life gets easier when you change your mindset. Keep telling yourself that she made that choice. Not you. Once your mind gets over that saving the relationship was out of your control, it gets easier. I feel you though bro

Chill brother If she told you she’s going on a date, she’s probably doing it to get under your skin. As hard as it sounds, don’t let it get to you. You do you. Carry on as normal. Don’t react. As hard as it may be. It gets easier bro. Trust me.

Funny you say this. I didn’t have any luck on Tinder or Bumble. As soon as I joined Hinge, it all changed. Had loads of matches. And I wouldn’t consider myself a good looking guy. Was on Hinge for 2 weeks until I met the lady I’m dating now… who incidentally I didn’t meet online but in a coffee shop.

Yeah been there. Well kinda. My first time after marriage ended resulted in me not being able to cum. Was at it for hours. She had a great time. It takes time man. Keep jacking away. You will get there.

You do you my friend. You are doing the right thing. Kids grow up and realise what’s happened. Document every time she hasn’t been there. Get a lawyer and file my friend. It gets better. I promise you.

There’s always hope! I’m in the Uk and still waiting for child arrangements to be sorted. Even though the decree absolute will come any time now. Even the judge in the finance hearing told my STBXW that she’s not primary carer of our children. It’s nice to read these kind of stories. There’s a stigma attached to divorce that the women always win everything. I’m living proof that this is not true.

Unfortunately she didn’t give me that satisfaction. She missed quite a few assets too. So really I’ve come out on top (that’s what she said)

Yes. If anyone would like a recommendation on solicitor and barrister in London, I have an amazing pair. They ain’t cheap, but they are damn good!

I’m sorry man. It does get better though. Ask yourself this: Will you ever be able to trust her again? For me the answer was no. So I filed. It sucks man, but there’s some good people n here with good advice. Gimme a sec and let me find a link that I read the other day. Edit: Here ya go. 1st comment on this is spot on https://www.reddit.com/r/Divorce_Men/comments/m6sb3x/my_marriage_is_over_how_do_i_move_on/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I’d really make sure that she is the “one” before you start introducing the kids to her. They’ve been through a rough time with their mum. Maybe when you are sure, sit them down and have a talk with them without the new lady around. Let them tell you how they feel. Listen to them. And act accordingly.

I’ve been in a similar situation. Had a fwb. Lasted a few months. Both of us knew the situation and we both promised that if we met someone else there would be no overlap. She met someone a few weeks back. I don’t love her. But it’s left me feeling empty inside tbh. This week I’ve felt my depression coming back and have organised some talking therapy sessions. It’s not a nice feeling. And now I feel myself desperately looking for the next hook up as I know I’m not ready for a relationship. That’…

All the more reason to speak to a solicitor from the getgo. Best of luck my man!

Ok. May be a little late my friend. I totally understand that you wanted to do right by your kids. That’s a natural move. But if you have the kids 40% of the time, I don’t think you should be paying out that much. Hey look. I maybe wrong here. You could be earning 300k a year. Then who cares right? Women tend to get bitter in these situations. And now she’s seen that you could give up so easily, she will probably try to take more. I’m sorry mate. I’m in the Uk as well. 1st thing I did was to get…

For a free holiday, I’d dress up as a Brazilian women. Might have an issue when you try and get my thong off, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it

Yes. She cheated while we were dating. I know. I’m an idiot. But. I have two wonderful children. So I have no regrets

The property is prt owned by me. I don’t get any money from it. I’m just on the deed. And she knows this

Her side said they have a crime ref number. But we have yet to see it. And I haven’t been visited by the police

Her word vs mine. Lots to consider for the judge. I’m accused of threatening to kill her one night, and the next week she went on holiday with me!

I’m in the same place as you my friend. She’s spouting off abuse claims even though she’s stolen money from me. Jokes on her. I start proceedings tomorrow and a small claims court proceeding for the money she took which she stupidly admitted to over email.

Make sure you log the times that she went out. She’s putting the safety of your child and you at risk by doing this. Speak with your lawyer and see if you can refuse her back in on these grounds.

I have the same issue. I found out my STBXW was telling everyone that would listen that she wasn’t happy in our marriage and that I was mentally torturing her. She cheated on me. Got caught. One day I broke down in front of her family, and told them everything, even though she asked me never to tell anyone she cheated. Her whole family asked me not to tell her that I had told them. They confronted her. She told them. Now she’s lost all credibility. I know lots of people still don’t know that she…

Almost the same happened to me my friend. Except mine was I caught her cheating as well. I wish that I hadn’t begged. I wished that I didn’t show her that I cared. Going on autopilot is the right thing to do buddy. Get lawyered up and move on. There’s so much out there in terms of new experiences. Time is a healer. Stay strong.

430,000??? Holy shit! How dumb was she!! Lol Congrats man. I’m pleased for you. I’m at mediation stage now. Can’t wait for it to be all over!

I’m in the Uk. Asked my solicitor the same question. What she said was it that it was ok to date. But don’t move in with her. And no, I don’t have to hide the relationship. She also recommended that I tell my STBXW that I am in a relationship rather than her finding out another way and using it against me in the divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men05/07/19 07:28 PM

In the UK, you can’t bring your lawyer to mediation... although I wish I could!

Ill second the Tinder route. Part of accepting what’s going to happen is to start moving on yourself. I’ve met a few ladies online, and although there’s been no sex, it’s made me feel better within myself. But I will say that you need to be open and honest with them. Otherwise you are just another douche.

The mediators explained that the 1st 2 sessions are free (or taken care of by Legal Aid). But from what I read online, legal aid will stop if the divorce goes to court
