Their female classmates weren’t required to make a similar pledge. You also said that it was a fallacy to do a bad thing if someone else has done a bad thing to you. That implies that Self defense is not justified and if self defense isnt justified then violence cant be either. Regardless of the above your scenario is that someone weaker hits someone stronger and they retaliate by hitting them back? So in your eyes you should attempt to restrain over striking back correct? If that is the case then you are entering into a physical altercation with the other person. During that time they may hit you freely and cause you further injury. How are you going to restrain them? A hold of some kind? Those can injure someone just as easily as striking them. This person equated women to children asking if we would fight a child. They also said that a because a man is so much bigger than a woman that its like a pro fighter going against an average guy and that their hands and feet could be considered deadly weapons. I wouldnt call it excessive as that would be continuing to beat her after she was complacent. This is the reason we tell children not to hit each other, because as adults we can seriously hurt another person and in doing so may cause that person to seriously hurt them in turn.
