I think the occasional smiley face is ok, but don't overdo it. Also, I always try to keep my grammar correct even if she doesn't. It's just a habit I have.

Just wanted to add that, well... I'm getting nervous again. I texted her and we did some casual chit chat back and forth but I can't shake those old feelings of negativity, those voices in my head of "She hates it when you text her" or "She's out of your league."
