But the one to ask out isn’t inviting them to eat for free, it it’s a date then you’re both agreeing to meet at one place to eat, just because one had the idea doesn’t mean they have to pay. This isn’t fair tho since I’m the dating world men are the ones to do all the asking, plus a date is a mutual agreement to meet up for dinner, not an invitation to eat for free, what’s important about a date is knowing the other person, not who pays, if you really care about the person then who pays shouldn’t be an issue.
