All that's different is where you get them (and the amount you take). There are many other hormones that are steroids, though; It's not just testosterone. They're mostly all slight variations on the testosterone molecule or its metabolites, as they all act upon the testosterone receptor. They're also always used alongside testosterone. People literally inject themselves with testosterone in order to boost their levels.
