Oh in that case, I agree. Apologies for misunderstanding!

The argument isn’t whether or not they need to be exposed, it’s that a photo of the victim is less appropriate than the accused - in fact, surely having a photo of the victim is more likely to prevent someone from coming forward? In this case, it’s the victims photo that was published. So by your logic this would mean someone making an accusation of a crime maybe be discouraged from doing so because their picture might get published.

Because they’ve been proven to have lied? If they hadn’t lied, there picture shouldn’t be shared. If you falsely accuse someone of rape, you deserve the repercussions - but only if found guilty or perjury/libel or whatever, not just because the accused was found not guilty.

Incredibly well thought out and a very reasonable stance! I think I read it here but misunderstood ‘is not effective enough to be a complete treatment’ as ‘isn’t an effective treatment’

This might come off as offensive, but it’s a question I’ve wanted to ask but haven’t felt comfortable airing because to be honest it’s probably not appropriate for most settings. If it’s not something you wish to/can answer, that’s fine. Anyways, what is your stance on the idea that being transgender is a mental condition and gender reassignment surgery should not be performed? There’s always been evidence that suggests sex changes do very little, if anything measurable at all, to help the patie…

Rape: unlawful sexual intercourse or any other sexual penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth of another person, with or without force, by a sex organ, other body part, or foreign object, without the consent of the victim.

Thanks for the source, appreciate that!

I think the statistics are higher than one in three. Off the top of my head it was 70% of battery were male victims in DV and 40% of bilateral abuse victims in DV are male. I can’t remember the source but I believe i saw it posted on some website by an account Calle EmiEvil.

I think the issue is that at the ages these kids are, it's very easy to get sucked in. It's not unreasonable to suggest that if there is a major pressure on kids looking buff then it can lead to severe insecurities. I like to look at it the same way as we look upon being a 'real' figure (read: not obese but not stick thin) for girls. Nobody is saying you shouldn't be stick thin or that if you want to be it's not ok to go for it BUT, there is a push by media and peers to become buff (or extremely…

I didn’t take another photo. However basic knowledge of the Melbourne train system will prove my point. This was travelling towards flinders street - that means that every station more people get on and most don’t get off until past flinders street (pretty much the busiest station) as parliament (where more people work) is where they get off. Ergo, the train fills till we got to flinders where i departed along with some other passengers, but the people that get off are replaced twofold by new pa…

It was towards flinders street, pakenham/frankston/dandenong line. She stayed on when it changed, I believe from platform 6.

But do you really want to sit on a seat her sweaty feet have been on? Even so, yes you could ask, but you’re missing the point.

I wish to provide some context. This was on a train today. The lady was older and had been on the train prior to my boarding. The lady had her shoes on the floor, one foot on each adjacent seat and her handbag on the seat directly next to her. Even as more passengers boarded she remained as she was while others stood. I want to make it clear I don't think it's actually women who are manspreading or whatever. It's not a male thing, it's not a woman thing. Taking up this amount of space is an inco…

In regards to your last question, I'm not a blog runner but I was a feminist for 6 months or so and started to hate myself because of it. Smelled the coffee/MRA and it smelled great.

My suggestions: Don't say shit about it to anyone who isn't your lawyer. Seriously. Aside from when you're in court/with a lawyer or something directly related to the case, ignore it and just go on with life, makes it a hell of a lot easier. Pretend the school investigation isn't happening. Don't stress about it, they will find whatever they can, theirs jack all you can change now. However, if they want to interview you, consider whether your lawyer needs to be present.

Alright, I'll do all I can to steer clear of any form of involvement in her issues. I'll try keep things minimal! Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate your insight, I'll avoid the phrase from now. Thank you!

Not at all, I really would much prefer someone assume I'm doing everything wrong and correct it than assume I'm doing everything right and leave to balls it up. I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, but I will try keep it in check! Nothing unnecessary about it at all, and definitely no need to apologise. I hope I'm not doing that, I'll be more cautious and conscious about it!

I should clarify, I never ever ever give medical advice. I've done a course but that's it. I am by no means whatsoever a professional and the first thing I do is tell them to talk to my dad instead of me if it's medical. I can honestly say I have never discussed her psychological state with her by means of giving advice on if it's 'real' or otherwise. What we have discussed though is what you call 'coping' mechanisms but that's more general calming than proper medically accurate advice. When I s…

Thanks for the reply! It's not really possible to cut back on as such. I feel the need to help someone if they ask me to, and since I've been brought up in a way that allows me to have knowledge about social and mental 'conditions' if you like people generally come to me for honest but sensible advice. I can't see myself telling someone I can't help them when I can. On the other hand, their are some things which I'm over my head in which I will try wade out of if possible. perhaps just avoid her…
