This isn't an argument against 50/50. It's an argument against having children with a selfish partner. The problem wasn't splitting expenses before kids. The problem was that he refused to adapt when pregnancy temporarily reduced her earning ability. A good partner adjusts as circumstances change. Someone can be generous early and still become a bad partner, or prefer 50/50 and step up when it matters. The arrangement doesn't determine character. The person does.

I think therapy works best when it starts from the individual, not an ideological framework. If a man comes in with relationship problems, depression, or anxiety, telling him he's part of an oppressor class isn't likely to build trust or help solve the issue. Therapy should be about understanding the person's experiences, not filtering them through a political lens before they're even heard. The same principle applies in reverse. If therapists shouldn't assume women's problems are caused by patr…

Women experiencing attraction isn't discriminatory. The problem is when attraction gets downplayed in discussions about dating while simultaneously driving many of the decisions being made. If the exact same message, joke, or approach is creepy from one man but charming from another because he's more attractive, then attraction is clearly doing a lot of the work. Pointing that out isn't arguing women shouldn't have standards. It's arguing that physical attraction has a much bigger influence than…

That's the contradiction. If intoxication is the standard, then it should apply equally to everyone. If sex is the standard, then it isn't about consent anymore, it's about treating women as having less agency than men under the same circumstances. You can't argue women are equal decision-makers while also assuming they're uniquely incapable of making decisions after the same level of impairment that leaves men fully accountable. Equality means applying the same standard, not different ones base…

I think those factors contribute, but they don't fully explain it. Young people today have more ways to meet potential partners than any generation before them through dating apps and social media. If access and supervision were the main issues, you'd expect those technologies to offset at least some of the decline. The bigger issue is that technology changed how people date. Instead of meeting a handful of people in their social circle, people now compare themselves and others against hundreds …

If someone constantly needs distance, space, and an escape from their partner, it raises the question of whether they actually want a committed relationship. Every serious relationship requires giving up some freedom. People often say they want commitment while still wanting the independence and lifestyle of being single, which is where much of the conflict comes from.

I'm sure some women do value those things. The pushback usually comes when people act as if those traits are enough on their own. The issue isn't whether women value character, loyalty, or morals. Most probably do. The disagreement is over where those traits rank compared to things like looks, attraction, charisma, social status, and chemistry. People become skeptical because they constantly see examples of someone claiming personality matters most, then ending up with a partner who is physicall…

I disagree with the idea that it's automatically dishonest or manipulative to wait. Most people aren't discussing every sexual preference in detail before commitment, and many kinks only come up once trust and intimacy have been established. The real issue isn't when you bring it up. The issue is expecting someone to be okay with it after they've already told you they aren't. Compatibility goes both ways.

That framing is too dismissive. Most men are not asking society to pity them because they cannot get “young hot women.” They are pointing out that a lot of average men struggle to get any real interest at all. Calling that “male sensitivity” is selective, because women complain about dating all the time and it is usually treated as valid frustration, not selfish whining. Men can have unrealistic standards too, sure, but wanting attraction, affection, and options is not some uniquely male fantasy…

This is too convenient. Every culture has its own dating rules, status markers, beauty standards, and social filters. America may be louder and more market-based about it, but it did not invent attraction being selective. Height, looks, money, confidence, status, and social proof matter in different ways everywhere. Pretending this is just “American discourse” is basically a way to blame the language around the pattern instead of the pattern itself. Social media may have imported the vocabulary,…

Yeah, women’s ways red-pill men much quicker than following RP content ever could.

I think your idea makes sense in some cases, but it may be giving bigotry too central a role. Some predators probably do dehumanize people, yeah, but others fully understand the other person’s autonomy and still choose to violate it anyway. That seems less about belief systems and more about entitlement, selfishness, or lack of restraint. So I would say bigoted beliefs can sometimes support or justify predatory behavior, but they are not necessarily the root cause of it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
