Oversimplication. Many people do indeed need validation, but the urge to have sex and to have a romantic relationship doesn’t require validation to be a factor. Men can want to have sex because it feels good, and can desire a partner because romantic companionship feels good (yeah, probably all because genes want to make more genes). Same for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/26 02:52 PM

Partial agree. The Red pill take may be that women are swimming in sexual options, but that’s not romance. Despite being a man, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that many women want a romantic relationship with a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/26 02:20 PM

Most straight men feel unhappy unless they have a romantic relationship with a woman because we are driven to reproduce. Men also seek validation and companionship from other men. Fathers, mentors and friends.

Dude…. It doesn’t matter. If you are thinking about your girlfriend thinking about her first boyfriend while you are balls deep, then you have serious problems.

Why do you feel that every woman needs to confirm to how you feel women should behave?

Yeah, kind of. But I disagree with the tone of your post. There are plenty of examples of marriages of convenience the world over, but at the same time plenty of couples (about a third in the west) earn a similar income. There is certainly socialisation for men to be the provider and women to be the carer, but it’s also incredibly easy to find people who are fine with going dutch and not confirming to traditional gender roles. I’m also not sure how any of this is exploitation by default. It’s po…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 11:37 AM

I used a common rhetorical phrase which itself is used to imply a similarity between concepts. If you disagree with my interpretation, you’d do better to explain why.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 11:44 AM

Being self-centred implies selfishness.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 11:42 AM

I disagree. OP talks about wanting a man who doesn’t distract from how pretty they are or from their being the main event. It being important to oneself to be the main event is self-centred.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:24 AM

Do you know what “is saying” means when used in the form “X is saying Y”?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:22 AM

Saying that women want a faceless bad boy who ensure that the main event is her is saying that women are shallow and self-centred.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:12 AM

I do not think that most debates are complaints. I did think that your main point was women=bad because that’s the main example you used, and which you dedicated three paragraphs to. On re-reading, your main point is that social media is more important than people think. And this is because, well, your main example is that some women have expectations that you are not complaining about. Seems somewhere between incoherent and strawmannish. When people say that social media is not so important and…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:05 AM

So what is the debate?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:56 AM

It sounds like you are complaining that women want a faceless bad boy who act as a status symbol without detracting from the women themselves as the main event.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:46 AM

You are complaining about some women based on their profiles, right? They are doing you a favour. Women like this have always existed - and now they announce it publicly before you have even spoken to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:43 AM

Yes, the vast majority of people under 45 are active on social media. Yes, social media/apps are a main way of getting dates. However, what you’ve pointed to is a feature, not a bug. You’ve found the profile of a woman who you find to be an asshole. In the old days, people would not advertise this quite so publicly. You’d at least have to speak to them, if not actually spend time with them, to realise this. Now you can just swipe left.

I don’t think there is much to debate here. Some men will not cheat, and they are right to complain about cheating. Some men will cheat, and if they complain about being cheated on then they are wrong. There are also some men who will never have the opportunity to cheat, and who assume that they never would cheat. They say cheating is always wrong. Kind of a grey area, but meh…

100% Big pert tits with small upward facing nips are great. Huge meat slapping milkers with burger nipples and stretch marks are… workable but not ideal. Tiny anorexic tits that look like dehydrated dairy cows are workable, but… well you get the idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 04:14 PM

What do you base your claim that women ‘threat profile’ unattractive men who make a pass on?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/26 11:25 AM

“Let men enjoy sex or let society collapse” What is your reasoning here? Sexless losers are so because they are pathetic. If they can’t get a good job or get in good shape, how the fuck are they going to lead a revolution?

If what you say is true then there wouldn’t be any men and women in relationships or situationships other than those who had met online.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:44 PM

Is it that you want to ‘jokingly’ tell women that you want to do them and not to be criticised for it? It is possible to flirt without being called creepy even if you are not conventionally attractive.

Depends on the relationship Doesn’t have to be a problem, but you can imagine how resentment or lack of respect could turn things sour. But if I was single I’d certainly like to date a multimillionaire.

I’m a guy and I just don’t get #1 As I age, teens at the age of consent seem less attractive than women in their 20s. And that’s just raw attraction. I cannot imagine for the life of me why a guy in his 40s or 50s would want an actual relationship with an 18 year old. I’m in my early 40s and if I got divorced I’d probably chase girls in their early 30s because they are super hot AND have some lived experience as adults.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:45 AM
12

35 vs 24 is unusual, but yeah it’s not really an issue. Plenty of people in their 30s will get on fine with people in their 20s. It’s more common that people take issue with 1 - Online arguments that it’s ‘natural’ for men to want to have relationships with girls as close to the age of consent as possible because biology. And… 2 - Dicaprio style gaps of 50 vs 25 But you’re not arguing in favour of either of those, right? You’re just saying that a ten year gap is cool?

That a little much isn’t it? I read OPs complaint as wanting to be generally coddled. But if either person in a relationship is sick, surely you want to reduce their discomfort. Like, if your husband has influenza, a fever etc, surely you’ll make sure he takes medicine and gets fluids etc?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 02:00 PM

Most people are social and fairly outgoing. I’m a guy and I’ve had terrible dates where the woman is quiet and reserved. And I know plenty of girls who have had bad dates cos the guy was quiet and reserved. Being quiet and reserved on a date doesn’t exactly scream chemistry to most people. We want to chat and laugh. So yeah, it’ll be tougher for you to find someone because you’re in a minority seeking a member of a minority. I guess hanging out at table top game cafes could work.

The concept of ‘being mothered’ makes my dick soft.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 12:53 PM

A couple of things: 1 - What is the relevance of women having tattoos? 2 - If you have to LARP confidence and happiness, does that mean you are not confident and you are unhappy? That may be the root cause of your issues.

It wasn’t a rant - it was a statement: It’s no wonder there are so many socially stunted self-indulgent dorks because the social media pity party is enabling. I didn’t say no problem exists. I said IRL I don’t see problems, and my problems largely stopped when I left my bedroom and got out there.

I’ve got friends with younger friends - people their twenties - we go to festivals and clubs. I’ve also got friends with siblings who come to bbqs. They have partners, or they sleep around. They party and work and just seem like pretty normal young people. I don’t ask young people at the pub “are you lonely” because after talking some shit with them they go back to their mates who are the same age.

I’ve heard this third spaces thing… but where I live in the U.K. it’s barely changed: We have libraries, arcades, malls, record shops, cheap bars and cafes…. And there are people out there. I’ve been to towns in like Arizona and Nevada and you still have arcades, malls, bars, cafes. So yeah. You are in control, avoid the online pity party and get out there. As for living costs, I was dirt poor in the 2000s, and a beer or game of pool is pretty similar as a proportion of minimum wage. Rent sucks,…

My views of Gen Z are that most of them are just fine. I’m specifically addressing the bitter Red pill rejects that stalk this sub. I would have been one of them if this online subculture had existed when I was 15-18, and I would have ended up even more of a cunt than I am today. Ironically, with access to less cunt.

I disagree that nurture, even with the best intentions, works so well. And don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying that nature is so important that nurture can’t, in a perfect world, sort things out. But it’s just all so much more nuanced than that. What if your son is a naturally feminine queer? Do you bring him up like a girl? Do you beat it out of him?

As a man, I think virginity matters at all, and that is because I was not a virgin before marrying. I was also a virgin when I met my first girlfriend, and we lost our virginity together. That was kind of nice and sweet, but I was a horny little fucker and would not have cared if she had had sex before. I think many men prefer virgins for the following reasons: 1 - They don’t want to be compared 2 - They see sex as an act of defilement 3 - They see bagging a virgin as a trophy
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 08:00 AM

Better to just have some balance. Live in the present, because being young is fucking amazing. It’s the absolute best time to live for the weekend and make (mildly) stupid decisions. But ensure that you’re doing so in a sustainable way that doesn’t leave you broke and physically wrecked. Purely living for the future is, in my opinion, not living.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 06:16 AM

I think that’s fair enough. However, anyone who chooses that route can’t then complain about being the one to put in effort and chase.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 10:22 AM
6

I think the problem here is that we think with our dicks too much, and that leads to chasing and trying to manipulate women that we don’t really like into bed and then relationships. I’ve been guilty of this myself: Trying to charm and putting in ‘effort’ where there was no immediate spark. Waste of time. Every good relationship and good fuck I’ve had has been predicated on a spark and mutual interest. No ‘effort’ required when you both want to spend time together.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 10:15 AM
8

Two things: 1 - Those things shouldn’t really require effort unless you are ‘neuro-spicy’. Either you click with someone or you don’t. 2 - Just give me the money. Then you have the freedom that money brings AND you can buy yourself a harem if you wish.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 09:37 AM

I’m a guy and the reason women are called hypergamous, shallow and materialistic on the daily is that the men who say that have had bad experiences and are 1) bitter and 2) telling themselves a story that helps them not wet their panties too much
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 07:42 PM
10

So hypergamy is actually just preferring someone on your level?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 07:31 PM

I don’t see how these social patterns, if they do really exist, matter. Why should men let them govern their lives? We are all free to behave as we wish and to associate with who we wish.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 07:28 PM
2

I’m trying to explain that I don’t understand how “society” has an effect on “the conversation” in your examples. My example is my life, and I know that isn’t data. But is your lived experience different? What happened to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 08:03 AM
1

It sounds like you’re just regurgitating stereotypes. Men are like this. And ‘society says this’ Is your life experience really that rigid? Am I so lucky as a man that I’ve never felt the pressure or need to conform to gender roles. I’ve cried and made bad choices and thrown my toys out of the pram over the years. My friends have rarely uttered the dreaded ‘man up’, because that would have been insensitive - and I’m a sensitive guy. Man up /s and stop giving a fuck about this ‘society’.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 08:45 PM
2

What exactly do you mean by ‘society’? Do you mean online discourse? Do you mean magazine articles? No one has ever (as a man) forced me to ‘take accountability’ for my actions. And I see the same in everyone around me. Friends tend to give friends the benefit of the doubt, and sometimes we also deliver hard truths, but this doesn’t seem to be a gendered thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 08:41 PM
1

I think we’re going round in circles here. Let me try one more time: No one MUST take accountability. That is a personal choice. However, if one insists that either men or women never take accountability, then that person should be careful to take accountability themselves. Further, claiming one gender never takes accountability is clearly not true, as evidenced by this sub.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 01:37 PM
1

I’m not asking for acceptance or giving up.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 01:32 PM
2

Whether I believe they have no other choice or not is irrelevant. I don’t necessarily believe that women must take accountability. My argument is if a man demands accountability from women, then they must take accountability themselves. And what I see in this sub is that men often do not.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 01:26 PM
3

Men on this sub frequently complain that women are golddigger or want expensive dates. In those threads people frequently say the men shouldn’t date those women. The response from the man then varies between leaving without a response or claiming that they have no other choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 01:16 PM
2

I have never argued that anyone cannot complain. My position is that it is hypocritical to say women never take accountability when men often do the same. To your example of options… That man could take accountability and work on himself to get better options. At least, that is what a Red pill guy who accuses women of failing to take accountability should say in order to not be a hypocrite. That is my point. I am not really arguing anyone MUST take accountability.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 01:00 PM
4

If men are both paying for dates and complaining about paying for dates then is no different from women dating fuck boys and complaining about dating fuckboys. In both situations, it’s fine to examine one’s own behaviour and question whether it leads to bad choices. It’s also fine to complain. I’m saying that calling women out for complaining, while men also complain, is hypocritical. I have no idea what your boxing match sentence is trying to say.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:57 AM

Society blames both men and women for staying in abusive relationships. “Why did you stay” is a common trope, is it not?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:31 AM

Replied to the wrong person before, so I just deleted a reply that would have made no sense. Anyway: You said in your original reply that your position is gender neutral, but you claim there is a double standard that favours women. So you are contradicting yourself. That is very clear.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:07 AM
1

Your position is clear. Your anecdote is clear. Your claim of “far less often” is not supported by your anecdote of one person. Perhaps you want to rephrase as “I reckon these things happen less frequently because trust me bro”?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:04 AM
3

How less often? What are you basing that claim on?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:59 AM

Really? You don’t think abuse or cheating occurs in relationships between attractive people?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:54 AM
1

So your position is not gender neutral?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:53 AM
5

How is your position gender neutral if you claim in the previous sentence that there is a double standard that favours women?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:40 AM
6

Blame is unnecessary. Better to understand why, and attempt to change. For example, “I end up with abusive partners because my parents abused me. I’m going to try to recognise the patterns of behaviour that lead me to these situations” Is better than “It’s my fault, and I only have myself to blame. I must be a better judge of character” Perhaps the difference is in word choice and semantics - but connotation is important.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:05 AM
5

It’s fine to complain, but it’s what Red Pill men would call ‘failing to take accountability’ were it women doing the complaining. If we live in a broadly trad-gender dating world where the man pays, then this is the world where the woman is expected to pay with pussy and be called a slut or a gold-digger. —- And no, the fact that we are continuing to debate clearly disproves your claim. My argument there is that “Women don’t take accountability” is a hypocritical stance.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:01 AM
3

There is a difference between ‘taking accountability’ and ‘being held to account’ In dating, it’s really only ‘taking accountability’ that is the relevant concept here. Being held to account by a legal system is outside of one’s locus of control.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 09:19 AM
5

I don’t see how the ‘chasing’ argument is weak at all. My point is precisely that both some men and some women fail to take accountability for the quality of the people they try to date. Despite this, men on this sub claim this is a particularly female trait. I don’t understand your second point at all. We literally are discussing trends and patterns.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 09:15 AM
3

Haha yeah fair enough. I think we have to go a little further though and add ‘well-adjusted neurotypical people’ to the top tier, and ‘bitter neuro-spicies’ to the lower - many of whom may be attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 09:05 AM
6

Are you suggesting that attractive people never: - Abuse their partner - Cheat - Act selfishly ?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 09:01 AM

Are you genuinely surprised that there are many people that you don’t click with? Congratulations on having passions and being interested and curious. Now understand that some people are boring. The end.

Man here…. 1 - I only see videos of synthesisers and cooking because I don’t engage with online ragebait (other than this sub!) 2 - If the first few dates require effort, you’re doing it wrong. Walk in the park. Go for drinks. Like each other? Make out. Feels like a job interview? Leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 09:38 AM

From my experience, women and men are equally empathetic. Some women are bitches, some men are assholes. Don’t be friends with them. Simple.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/26 07:53 PM

This isn’t the contradiction that you seem to imply that it is. You can show that you care about your partner without controlling them. Edit: didn’t see the scenarios. Scenario 1: it’s not controlling not to want your partner to go on a trip with someone of the opposite sex. Scenario 2: plenty of people would just feel supported by your reply that you support their decisions. Others would prefer a deeper dive into the pros and cons.

Which women who would be able to buy a new vacuum and have the walls painted would also be told to clean “their room”? I’m sure you thought you were making a neat analogy, but it’s all a bit odd. Do you also think that when traditional men want their women to clean the house, they consider ‘clothes picked up’ as clean?

Pretty much all pop, rock, and rap is about sex, regardless of the gender of the singer. Rock and roll was a predominantly male genre, and the name of the genre itself is a reference to fucking. Modern pop: Drake is currently number 2 in the billboard hot 100. Sample lyric: “Blow on me just like some green tea, baby” What fucking planet do you live on?

Irrelevant
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 07:59 PM
1

Why is the first sentence of your post unrelated to the rest of it?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 07:00 PM
1

I don’t see the relevance of frequency for me, as I’m a fairly average guy who people tend not to stare at. The escalation to further undesired behaviour is also irrelevant. Staring is rude. In our culture.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 08:25 AM
2

It’s almost as if you are both pretending that the staring I’m talking about is hard to define and yet you do clearly know exactly what I’m talking about. And yes of course it is cultural and there are cultural differences…. And yes of course people look at each other a lot during dates. Nevertheless, when I go to the gym or on the bus or on the train or to a cafe I somehow manage not to constantly stare at the hot bitches. Because it’s not polite in Western culture, which I am a member of. Now,…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 06:01 AM
6

So basically your position is that it is fine to stare at people?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 05:48 PM
14

You dismissed the all important point of nuance in your second paragraph by strawmanning those who believe there is a difference between a glance and a stare. But that’s the key point: it’s completely reasonable to glance and to know that you’re going to be glanced at. It’s quite another to stare or catcall.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 03:21 PM

Yeah, these are all sound criticisms of unrestrained free markets and a lack of regulations on the tech industry. Is the solution to ensure markets and industry are better regulated, or to somehow guarantee that average men get wives?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/26 02:49 PM

Seems like you’re just arguing in favour of Red Pill: Average men need to make bank in order to pound pussy. In fact, if average men were guaranteed bang maids, what incentive would there be to risk-take and drive progress?

I disagree. Usually the point in this sub is clear: How can men/women find a partner more effectively. I don’t see the point of universally agreed sexual orientation labels.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 01:01 PM
1

I disagree that it is lying. Plenty of people simply don’t accept rigid labels such as those being discussed. Framing it as a moral question of truth vs lie completely misses the mark.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:50 AM
4

I don’t think not self-identifying as bi )despite doing things others consider as bi) is lying. People are free to identify as they wish, and you are free to label them as you wish.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 11:22 AM
4

Why do you need to call it anything?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:57 AM
3

I understand the point of discussing what tactics are successful in dating: because people want to find a partner. I don’t understand the point in labelling people as straight/gay/bi. Or more, I can understand why we do it, but it leads to more harm than good. In your case, it sucks to be cucked, but it seems the cheating is the point, not the sexual orientation.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:57 AM
5

I haven’t actually disagreed with you directly yet, so there is no counterpoint for you to claim as moot. Let’s run through this from the top: You claimed that men who act bi will be called bi. I agreed but asked what the point of labelling is. You claimed that it is important to care because men and women are treated differently. I did not disagree nor offer a counter point. I asked you why, in this very specific situation, you think men and women are treated differently.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:39 AM
8

No, I don’t speak like that. I know full well how it goes. I’m asking you why you think it’s like that for men and not for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:20 AM
11

No, why do you think men are scrutinised for exhibiting non-heterosexual behaviour, while women are not? In this particular context, surely there is a more detailed explanation than ‘because they are men and women’
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:10 AM

The difference in how you claim men and women are treated.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 10:02 AM

What do you think accounts for the difference?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/26 09:55 AM

Yes, that hypothetical guy is likely bi, if you really must label him. And yes, those women sound bi too, if you really must label them. However, why care and what is the point?

/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 09:49 AM

Your double standard take doesn’t really make sense. According to Red pill, a top-tier man can have sex with whoever he wants. So, doesn’t that make him the same as the women? But if we look at a women who sleeps with whoever she wants… surely that’s only a bad thing if she is a cheater or raw-dogging and full of stds. Seems to me like sexual behaviour/history can be important, but for the same reasons for both men and women.

I think reasonable people talking about what women want is fine. Women like attractive people, rich people, cool people. Many women also like guys who make them feel comfortable, or make them laugh etc etc
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 06:03 PM
6

No, not at all. It’s men who subscribe to PUA who are the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 05:52 PM
9

I think the problem is that often PUA men are cunts, and that they ‘pick up signals’ that are not there
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 05:47 PM
5

But they can’t learn social skills.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 05:34 PM
5

No, the men are often charmless cunts. The cunt part is important there too. They follow PUA because they are cunts. The cuntyness reeks through the misguided veneer of ‘techniques’
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 04:57 PM
5

I think the issue is more that men who follow PUA techniques tend to be charmless cunts. (Hashtag)NotAllPUAmen
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 04:46 PM
9

Well, one is annoying. And the other isn’t. It’s not a double standard because they are not the same thing. You can also ‘approach’ without PUA. And in fact, fewer women would complain about being approached if it wasn’t for PUA assholes being cunts about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 04:32 PM
28

Makeup and sexy clothes are passive forms of attraction. PUA techniques are active. It’s very easy to ignore a women wearing makeup or swinging a budonkadonk in tiny shorts. Unwanted PUA antics are more of a nuisance.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 04:15 PM

Well, perhaps I could be more specific. It sounds like the totalitarian leaders who have tried to implement communism: Ok guys, do all this stuff now so that we can work towards a utopia. The reality for communism of course was to enrich the elites while the masses starved. And for this ‘have babies’ argument is basically: Let me get my dick wet so future generations may prosper, m’lady.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 03:51 PM

Nah, we’re not all into family.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 01:09 PM

Not having children doesn’t involve killing oneself. Though, that said, I don’t particularly care about feminists either ;)
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:32 PM

The neat thing about not having kids is that the future of humanity becomes drastically less relevant.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:20 PM

“Be miserable now so that later generations can be happy” Sounds like communism
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:10 PM

So in order to have a super comfortable life women should have babies against their will? Seems not very comfortable. In order to be comfortable we remove your freedom to be comfortable?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:00 PM
1

The gun thing is negligence. So yes, I agree that being negligent is immoral. Having protected casual sex isn’t negligent. What happened with the water bottle? Herpes? Vanishingly unlikely but again: negligence. Re: abortion, I’m all for it. I don’t believe a small bunch of cells is conscious. Grinding up a baby brain with the cunt whisk… that’s another story. Without wanting to get into the whole abortion thing, I think it’s fine before the cerebral cortex is formed. And yes, accidents can ruin…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 08:51 AM

Focus. The title of the post is ‘most men are… most women are…’ Most. I disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 09:01 PM

Of course it is relevant. OP says “most men are…” and “most women are”
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 06:36 PM

So would you say that romantic interest without sexual interest is common?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 05:59 PM

Are edge cases your only examples?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 03:05 PM

When is there a romantic interest without a sexual interest?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 02:31 PM

Romantic attraction isn’t separate from sexual attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 11:57 AM
2

By “about as risky” I mean the per-instance risk of serious harm when precautions are taken. But if that kind of argument upsets you, try this one: Protected casual sex is not immoral, and it is also not zero-risk. It’s low risk. Do you think that all low-risk activities are immoral because there is a non-zero chance of harm?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/26 02:02 PM
0

Having protected sex is about as risky as horse-riding. Is horse-riding unethical due to its risks?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/26 12:22 PM
1

Do you disagree that a society where the only permissible activities have zero negative externalities is impossible? And if so, why?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/26 07:11 PM
5

Well yeah, like I said: it’s like horse-riding. Risky but fun. And the risks are mainly to the participants. A society where the only permissible activities have zero negative externalities is probably impossible.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/26 06:58 PM
4

What’s wrong with casual sex? If it’s consensual then it’s no different from going horse-riding with friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/26 06:31 PM
5

I think you have completely misunderstood. The women being attacked for having casual sex ARE having casual sex, and there is nothing wrong with having casual sex. The men being attacked for being rapists ARE NOT rapists, and there is something wrong with rape. Get it?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/26 06:03 PM
20

But it is about them. It’s about women having casual sex. Men who are offended by stereotypes of being sexist or violent are not actual doing those things, are they?

However, your shrill tone and ‘we need to blame women but then people say I don’t like women’ whining undermines your arguments. Clubs are for taking acid and mdma and dancing with your friends. You tend to meet new friends like this and get invites to parties where you can take acid and mdma and meet yet more people. Some of these people will be single and fun. Also your relative attractiveness is less important when everything is swirling around like Starry Night and it feels like your arms are their arms and they are all tentacles.

And that is, itself, a shame. No-one should be shamed for sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 05:38 PM

Nah, it doesn’t matter. I was once quite inexperienced and dated a girl who was very experienced. All it meant was that she was very good at sex. I didn’t feel any need to compare myself to previous partners, but it does sound like a great way to tank any relationship.

Your reply is a good example of how Red Pill Men reply on a script of about six arguments. The Redditor you replied to did not invoke the just world fallacy (or claim them to be the enemy). Easy with that trigger finger.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 07:57 PM

It’s a bit of both most likely. Sure, bitter women exist and will complain about guys chasing younger women. Sure, some guys are just into younger women because they look young. But, there are absolutely guys who feel the need to be the unquestioned dominant leader archetype, and they can’t do that with women who are experienced and have their own resources.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/26 04:14 PM

Fair play. Game knows game. That ain’t be no nagging. No cap
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/26 09:09 PM

I don’t quite understand what you said. And to qualify this, I am a man who has often embellished the pure truth when it comes to statements that will get my penis sloppy. Are you saying that women you date “nag” you when they doubt your intentions? Like, “nah, you don’t really love me, you just want to fuck me”?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/26 09:03 PM

When they nag, the solution is usually self-obvious. When my wife tells me to stop dribbling piss around the bowl, I don’t really need her to spell out the solution. What annoying thing are you repeatedly “nagged’ about?

Wanting and feeling strong carnal desires is fine, but clinging to it as salvation is where suffering begins. At least, that’s the Buddhist take.

Do you feel this way about all women, or do you find that you can avoid dating overly shallow people?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 02:04 PM

Oh I see what you mean. Does this make you dislike women?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 01:52 PM

The person who I was replying to implied that the powerful do like women because they do not force them down the mines. It’s a dumb argument, and of course the reality is that there are many sets of men. Some powerful men like women. Some powerful men hate women. Some losers like women. Some losers hate women. There are not any powerful men on this sub complaining about women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 01:51 PM

Yes, I completely agree that changing the meaning of the word ‘effort’ means that being tall is putting in effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 01:44 PM

I think that OP is saying that the men here don’t like women. They are not the same men who wield the power to shape society.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 01:43 PM

I (man) didn’t put in any more effort into a date than picking a cafe or bar and showing up and talking. And the women I’ve dated didn’t put in any more effort than showing up and talking. But we liked (when we were compatible) talking. We both bought ourselves to the table.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 01:37 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 03:12 PM

I didn’t ignore the facts. I made a value judgement. Name a first world country with a greater than 5% difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 02:46 PM

Haha! So women are obese significantly more often than men in shit countries. Great data man!
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 02:34 PM

Smh. Perhaps we disagree with the usage of planning, Einstein. For me, planning and game plan means thinking about how to approach a situation and what tactics to employ BEFORE the event. If you think than ‘planning’ means ‘making a decision while an event is in progress’ then I can kind of see where you are coming from, but still maintain that there is no rule other than “go with the flow”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 11:50 AM

I’m a guy and 90% of the time I’m the escalator - I just don’t plan things. I read the room.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 11:13 AM

Fair enough, if you like that kind of thing. Even thinking about dating in terms of tactic and strategy gives me a big soft one.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 09:09 AM

Just go with the flow. Not everything needs to have a game plan or rationale.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/26 08:25 AM

As in ‘that’s a great photo of you’. He looks happy and healthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 01:14 PM

Looks more to me like the whole image is stretched slightly - possibly the ‘original’ was distorted and too thin. And they’ve added more natural skin tone - which is flattering if he is actually pale in real life. It looks like the exact same person, just a better photo. No biggie, and what is the actual impact: he looks better.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 01:13 PM

What is sickening? It’s very unusual to have one’s face plastered everywhere in huge images and over the internet. Photos themselves distort the true image - so a little fix up here and there just makes the picture look nicer.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 01:00 PM

That’s an absurdly extreme position. People are MORE sympathetic towards prettier people. Whoever generates these images is just trying to maximise that. Side benefit; the dude looks great. Again, I’m not seeing a problem here.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 12:56 PM

I’m a guy, and if anyone puts up gigantic posters of me anywhere, for any reason, I sincerely hope that they pass my less-than-perfect features through a few auto-handsome filters. What’s not to like?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 12:47 PM

“Straight” is the only concept we’re debating here. If there was a DEI policy favouring non-straight people then you could just lie, couldn’t you? How can any employer possibly rely on anything other than self-identification?

You know what fair enough lol, but excluding pie in the sky magical wishes, the factory worker wants to give less work and get more pay, while the factory owner wants to get more work while giving less pay. So we're back at men and women want different things? There is no factory owner here, anyway - just different groups of people with sometimes conflicting wants.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 08:18 PM
1

Kinda more bi curious than straight, but in pretty sure that if a man is frequently sucking dick and enjoys it, the label of "straight" isn't really accurate. When it comes to sexual identity, you are free to label people as you wish, and people are free to label themselves as they wish. definitions also generally matter. Yep. 'Dog' and 'fish' matter a lot. Also, the definition of 'gay' and 'straight' matter to an extent, but people are free to identify with either as they see fit. And yet, a lo…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 08:15 PM
1

No, people can identify as straight while sucking a cock because the definition is not universally concrete and is continuing to change. You can call him gay though, that’s fine. And he can call himself straight. And of course, when it comes to sexual identity, only one person’s opinion matters. That’s not the same with dogs and fish though. We buy and sell those, so accuracy and universality is important. When it comes to sexual identity…. Well it’s no-one else’s business really.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 07:23 PM

I don’t think either need to be perpetual victims. And the factory owner and the worker both want loads of money and free time.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 07:15 PM
1

No he didn’t. It was rhetorical. There was no challenge. Yes, I said that people can define themselves sexually. “Dog” and “fish” are concrete and ancient concepts that have not changed since long before the first caveman put crudely made peanut butter on his balls and had the very first good boi lick them clean, while fishing. “Gay” and “straight” as sexual identities have been around for less than 200 years, and still their usage and interpretation varies dependant both on community, culture a…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 07:12 PM

None of that makes it better to be a women, since they don’t want the same things as men. Of they wanted the same things as us, then it would be easier for both of us.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 07:05 PM
1

No - he didn’t challenge the meaning of ‘dog’ or ‘fish’
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 07:00 PM

If women were more eager to jump into bed with random men, men would have an easier time getting laid. If men tended not to pump and dump so frequently, women would be more eager to jump into bed with them. It’s kind of an ouroborian chicken egg deal.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 06:59 PM
1

I think ‘we’ is actually ‘you’ here. The meaning of ‘dog’ and ‘fish’ hasn’t been challenged by anyone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 06:50 PM

No one is choosing for the usage of ‘dog’ or ‘fish’ to change.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 06:47 PM

No, you missed the point: OP was saying women have it better because they can have casual sex easily. If it’s true that “Most men want casual sex and it’s not easy to get it.” Then it’s only better to be a woman if “Most women want casual sex to the same extent as men” Most women want an emotional connection, and that’s hard for them to find, much like it’s hard for men to find a moist fuckable lady-hole. B
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 06:46 PM
1

That doesn’t really work because “dog” and “fish” have always been “dog” and “fish”, respectively. There has never been a time in history or prehistory where humans didn’t define between dogs and fish with words like “dog” and “fish”. Sexuality is a far less concrete concept, and really individuals are free to define themselves and their sexy times as they wish. No skin off my cock if a guy who considers himself straight likes to suck cock from time to time. And if a guy who considers himself en…

I’m a man. I’ve had dry streaks. I’ve been rejected. It’s been slim pickings. It’s also not such a big deal. I think any women could empathise by imagining times when they were a bit sad or frustrated. You don’t have to be a drama queen about it. On a side note, I don’t think many women can directly empathise with how crazy horny men get, and how that can affect emotions. But then they have periods, which throws their shit out of whack. /r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 02:00 PM

Misogynists don’t want a relationship, and they don’t want to love women. They want women to love them, and they want to control them. Misogynists hatred from women often comes from sexual dysfunction - be that jealousy or undesirability. So, yes, misogynists hate women because they will not subjugate themselves. Misandrists hate men because they think all men want to subjugate them.

I didn’t say all men were animals, I said that misogynists want to fuck women and also hate them. I mean, pulling apart your argument is child’s play. Misogynists hate promiscuous women for a number of reasons: 1 - Promiscuous women are ‘whores’ in their eyes. No honour, and lower than human. 2 - If the promiscuous women will fuck other men but not them, of course they will hate them. 3 - Some misogynists are extremely jealous. 1 - Getting someone’s number in a club or bar while drunk/high is easier than carrying a conversation when sober/nervous on a date. 2 - Reeling someone in on an app is easier because initial communication is fairly generic. Face-to-face over coffee is harder, especially if you don’t click. Well, yeah. There are no guarantees and people are weird. If a girl had been playing with my necklace and telling me smell good then I too would assume she wanted a one way ticket to pound town. And if it then turned out she was just being nice I’d be annoyed for a little bit but also realise that it was a lucky escape from someone who probably was really flirting and just doesn’t really know themselves or likes playing games. TL:DR There are signs and these indicators of attraction are a green …

Everyone feels pressure. But it’s all bullshit. All in your head. Some people are hyper competitive, some people waltz through life, and most are somewhere in between. I’ve always been lazy, and often poor. Never stopped me getting girls and enjoying life. And no, I’m not a 6/6/6 chad.

Weird. I’ve known easy girls and traditional girls - and they’ve always been consistent in their sex lives. I mean, what’s the situation here? You date a girl and she actually tells you “So, I usually jump right into bed on the first date, but I don’t want to do that with you”? Did that happen to you?

It would depend more on the place that the conversation is taking place than the exact words used. If a Red pill guy was talking about it here… it’s definitely insecurity If it was a friend of mine in real life, and I know he’s a church going stand-up guy, then I’d probably take it at face value. And of course I’d give him a hard time if he didn’t practice what he preached.

Different women are different. Plenty of girls don’t want to be seen as easy, even though they’re dripping at the thought of it on the first date. Some girls don’t care what other people think and just want to get down to it. Some girls aren’t as horny as guys, and need to develop a relationship before the juices start flowing. Generally, a girl who has been down to pound on the first date for other guys is also going to be down to pound for you.

You're doing the same thing. Latching onto that 2021 study (which has now been circulating MRA groups and forums for a few weeks and is being wheeled out quite frequently). Why that study in particular? Is it that it is the one that best supports your position? How does the 2021 d…

Surely even if the stats used by the 'feminist-captured' institutions were far less scary sounding, it would still be fair for such institutions to push for their agenda? However, unless we can be sure that no people in any specific group are being killed, then it's fair game to advocate for that group.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 11:10 AM

Actually, if an emotional outburst is reasonable, then the thing that prevents problem resolution is the other party reacting emotionally. Emotions are reasonable, and so the only thing that would derail moving forward would be to label the outburst as some kind of affront. Instead, take the opportunity to listen - because that outburst (in this scenario of ‘reasonable outburst’) happened for a reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 08:21 PM
4

I agree that emotional outbursts don’t help to solve a problem, but you appear to agree with me that they are not unreasonable. If like you say “that’s what the moment is” Then you understand why they are having that reaction. Would you never behave emotionally? And respectful follow up, are you neuro-spicy?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 08:03 PM
1

Typo/word choice error I meant that there is no situation where the variables can’t be tweaked to allow a reasonable emotional outburst. E.g. couple haven’t been to dinner in two weeks (unreasonable to lash out) vs 2 years (reasonable)
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 07:44 PM
5

I couldn’t disagree more - and I’m a man. Your position implies there is no situation in which an emotional outburst would be unreasonable. That is absurd, isn’t it? So surely, there must be situations where an emotional outburst is reasonable. You might not like it, but you should consider whether it was reasonable. Example: I cheat on my wife. She finds out. I’m sure we agree that an emotional outburst is reasonable, yeah?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 07:40 PM
6

In that hypothetical example, is the woman exaggerating, or is it true that the hypothetical man hasn’t taken her out for a long enough time that it would reasonably feel like ‘ever’? There are lots of variables at play here. With one set she would be behaving reasonably, and with another set she would not. There is no scenario where emotional outbursts are unreasonable, and emotional outbursts themselves exist on a continuum from ‘barely perceptible’ to ‘freak out’. Your perception of what is e…

It’s only simple if women don’t have their own minds and desires. When the requirements of one half of a system are in opposition to the requirements of the other, it becomes complex if you want the machine to work.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/25 11:08 AM

Yes, isn’t that obvious? Why would anyone want to be asked out by someone they are not attracted to? I’ll add the nuance though that ‘attractive’ doesn’t just mean ‘model looks, tall with a six pack’. Fat/facially-unlucky and short guys with good dance moves/humour/chat can still pull. It just won’t be as easy, and they’ll need to pick their targets more carefully.

You are confused. Common advice from both men and women to men who struggle to meet women is: Step one: Stop being a paranoid ‘cel. Step two: Widen your social circle by taking up a hobby where you will meet people in real life. Step three: Pick a hobby that genuinely interests you, and if you meet a woman it is a bonus. Do not join the group with the sole intention of approaching a woman, because that would be creepy. I’ve seen it a few times: Autistic and/or socially inept guy complains online…

I didn’t claim that gaslighting anyone is helpful. However, that’s not what we’re taking about. Women having different reactions to different people asking them out in different ways in different contexts is not trying to convince someone that their perception of reality is false.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/25 08:10 PM

Nah, that’s balanced by stereotypes about men. Equally important for people, regardless of gender, not to take everything everyone says as the absolute truth.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/25 07:09 PM
4

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/25 05:21 PM
12

If anyone says there is a universal way to approach women you should ignore them, because it is obviously not true! You don’t believe everything you hear, do you? And as a man, I do not care one jot if some people of social media demonise men. I know that I am not a demon, and I conduct myself well. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

I disagree. You can’t stop people from expressing their opinions. Men should just… be sensible and not take everything everyone ever says as the absolute truth and then get confused when different people hold different opinions in different contexts.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/25 04:06 PM
10

You’ve massively over complicated it. Think about it like this: Scenario A: If you were in a club, would you want someone you are attracted to to talk to you and ask you out? Scenario B: If you were in a club, would you want someone you were repulsed by, threatened by or annoyed by to talk to you and ask you out?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/25 03:35 PM
2

You’re so dramatic! It’s all horses for courses. 60% of women want men to pay for dates. Plenty of men also want to pay for dates, they like to flash their cash and feel typically masculine. the tide is slowly turning, though. “What we’re dealing with here” is the different people have different preferences.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 08:55 PM

I’m afraid you’re dead wrong. While I like being irreverent on Reddit, that’s not how I treat friends, and not how I (before I got married) talked to women. You do realise that it is possible to a) be respectful when asking someone out and b) not be afraid of being accused of creepiness or SA.

I’m sociopathic because I think it’s unlikely that I will be falsely accused of being a creep/SA?

So, women are romantic if they find you attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 05:42 PM

And you do you. Enjoy celibacy or hookers.

If I ask out a girl in a bar in a friendly way, she is not going to yell “help”. However, no matter what I do, I could be the victim of a false accusation. That’s far more likely during or after a relationship than when simply asking someone out. However, like I said in my other comment, there’s greater chance of being hit by a bus. I’ll still choose to cross the road, and to fuck bitches.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 04:43 PM

More chance of being hit by a bus crossing the road. I’ll take life and pussy over fear and… my hand.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 04:37 PM
-1

Huh? What exactly is going to happen if I am talking to a girl in a bar and ask for her number? You know, like “Having a good night? Yeah me too! We’re heading down to (club name) later for some drum and bass. Oh, you’re into drum and bass too? Cool, seen any good sets lately? Nice, anyway I’m heading back over to my mates but can I get your number, it’s not every day I meet someone cute who’s a raver too” Like… trial by social media??? Nah… you’re dreaming.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 04:36 PM
-2

The solution of course is to not worry what morons say on social media, and to know that deep down men and women like to fuck and have relationships. Men who are too scared to ask women out need to ask themselves what is more important: A moment of embarrassment and rejection, or getting to dump their load into a vagine. I don’t doubt that there are a lot of scaredy-cats out there… more flange for the brave!
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 03:42 PM

Funny, I’m a guy, but the most unstable and emotional people I know are men. I’ve known a few crazy/ unstable women too, but usually it’s guys
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 03:06 PM

Do you mean like approaching random women in public? To be honest I’ve never understood that. In a bar, sure… and in bars it’s still fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 01:53 PM
0

Why would a man be more afraid now? Because of nonsense on social media?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 01:21 PM
10

I don’t think men are fucking fewer women because they are seen as too safe and concerned with consent. Was that your point? Surely it’s more that social media + a global pandemic has fucked with the heads of a generation.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 01:13 PM
9

Those stats show a small drop in the number of men who when surveyed say that they are looking for a relationship. Big woop! If bitter, red-pilled losers bow out of the dating game, it just makes it easier for us socialised fuck bois to get our dicks wet. So please, by all means, stay away from our women 🙏
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 12:58 PM
2

Dude, I am a man! It is very easy to ask people out. You just ask them! And yes, women do reciprocate, otherwise there would be no couples out there. All we have now is that the dregs are able to share their doomer fantasies online.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 12:50 PM
1

I would say that for courtship that is mostly true. However (and I say this as a man), it’s very minor stuff. On the whole, men are the ones who ask a woman out. That takes a little courage and very little effort. Being rejected isn’t nice, but if you think it’s a big deal then you’re really very weak. Personally, I’ve only really put in any considerable amount of effort twice in my life - and that was because the woman didn’t really want a relationship. And what was the effort? Just a couple of…

/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 12:13 PM
3

Sounds like cope!
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 09:30 AM
14

Well I guess if that’s all you bring to the table, then yeah that can happen. Thankfully, I don’t need to cope. I’ve never been rich and have always done well with women. First dates have always been drinks/coffee or a walk. Girlfriends have always shared rent and bills when we lived together. Am now married. Wife earns slightly less than me and we still split things. But informally - I’ll pay for one holiday, she’ll pay for the next - that kind of thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 08:57 AM
14

Nah, ugly couples do this kind of thing too. It’s certainly easier if you’re very attractive, just like it’s easier if you are very rich. I’m neither and it’s never stopped me. But you have to bring SOMETHING to the table.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 08:44 AM

If a women made a post that said most men are abusive, and that examples of men who are not abusive are the exception, then I would disagree but I would also likely not get involved in the discussion because I’m not a woman and have no way of truly understanding that perspective. But, I am a man, and I am experienced with women, so I will give advice. Besides, it’s very easy to determine whether a women cares too much about money: First few dates are walks, cheap drinks, coffee and a hard dickin…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 08:20 AM
11

Spending money is one dimension of a multi-dimensional concept that means different things to different people. I don’t doubt that I could find women who do think as you say. Hell, it would be easy: Go to a bar and find the traditional princess type. I’m sure some men also prefer those kind of women. It sounds like you don’t though, and neither do I. Here’s the good news: You don’t have to date these women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:59 AM
13

That’s ridiculous. Few people can afford that. If you are loaded, then sure it’s nice and why not. I’ve always split things equally, and so does almost everyone I know. These days, living in modern cities is very expensive and couples tend to both be earners. The most romantic memories I have are divorced from money: Cooking a meal at home (I’ve done this and had this done for me) Candles and a bath together with a glass of wine and music Walks in the snow Getting cosy on the sofa and rubbing ea…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:56 AM

Not really. You’re just confusing spending money with being romantic.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:50 AM

I have split bills on dates and I am also seen as romantic. Being romantic = being loving and thoughtful in a sexual relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:42 AM

Many people are nice, shy, boring doormats. Nice, but dull, and often sad deep down. Not fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/25 10:10 AM

Not redpill so posting here: Your experience will be dismissed as not relevant because it is one data point. Which is fair. Some may say that simply being tall and handsome puts you above average. However, I’m pretty similar to you, OP, and have also had similar experiences - as has everyone I’ve ever known in real life.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/25 03:21 PM

Your argument hinges on the absolute value represented by each percentage. You do not seem to know that they are actually similar, yet you seem to be claiming that they are
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 10:44 PM

Not having those figures makes your claim that it “must be” similar pretty ropey. What are is the percentage of people (men and women both) who are victims of SA, and what is the percentage of people (men and women) who have been falsely accused.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 10:36 PM
4

Are there any figures on the percentage of women who have been SA’d vs the percentage of men who have been falsely accused?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 08:00 PM
-1

Right, another reason not to extrapolate, yeah?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 07:48 PM
4

I don’t know why you would extrapolate those number without taking into account SA that is not reported at all
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 07:39 PM
10

That says that 11% of men say they have been falsely accused. But had those men been falsely accused? What percentage of them are men who had been found guilty, and who continue to claim they are innocent?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 07:38 PM
1

One in ten men have been falsely accused? If that is the case, then I hold my hands up and say you have a good case. Do you have a link for those numbers?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 07:09 PM
2

But what are the chances, man or women, of being falsely accused?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 07:05 PM

“All the time” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in your title. What, OP, are the chances of being falsely accused as a man?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 07:02 PM

I think there’s a false dichotomy here. There is no stark choice between feminism and being Red pill. I’m a man, and you’d call me blue pill. I do like some of the ideas and a broadly support basic equality type feminism. Has never really impacted my life or required anything of me though.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/25 08:44 AM
2

Perhaps I’ve misunderstood and I’m the one at fault. Are you saying that you think the 9/11 victims do bear some degree of responsibility for being killed? That is clearly not correct because the reverse is absurd: it’s not reasonable to avoid normal activity because you might be hit by a bus.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 10:50 PM
2

And there I thought you were not insane and I had the wrong end of the stick! That was a fun reveal at the end though.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 10:35 PM

Hey man, if it walks like a duck! To be fair, it’s much more interesting that you’re the first person here who i thought was incelly who is in fact not, and has healthy relationships with women. I’ll shout from the mountain tops that I was barking up the wrong tree!
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 10:21 PM
1

I’ll continue to bite, but I do suspect that you don’t even know where you’ve gone wrong! The victims were responsible for their decision to go to work. And yet, they bore no responsibility whatsoever for being killed.

I don’t really know what interacting with contemporary culture can be if not participating in it? Your comment didn’t make me mad. Can you quote me where i appeared angry to you? You now mention that most of your dates are shitty. I suppose you never did really answer my question of how your relationships are with the women in your life. Do you have female friends, sisters, a mother? Are those your regular ups and downs type relationships, or more strained, or just plain lovely? How do you feel …
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 10:09 PM
1

So did you hold onto that experience? Are you much older now? It sounds like you don’t really have skin in the game? Why do you sound so bitter? For fairness, I’m married, 40-ish. Lots of precious partners, used to be kinky but got bored of that and prefer snuggles and vanilla porking these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:57 PM
4

You’re really flailing now! Shall I remind you of the discourse so far? I shall: 1 - You say everyone is responsible for their choices 2- I give the example of 9/11 victims 3- you say that they could not have foreseen such an outcome from such reasonable behaviour 4 - I remind you that you said there is aways A degree of responsibility 5 - you flip flop again and say that “oh no, there is a degree of responsibility”
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:53 PM
6

I’ll play. I think you’ve been fucked over, or dealt a raw deal. Probably more than once. Your turn.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:40 PM
0

No, not “Exactly”. You said that if an individual experiences a negative outcome that TO SOME DEGREE, their decision making contributes to that outcome” Now you are rolling back and saying that it depends on the severity of the outcome and the normality of the behaviour. How about you act like a man and take accountability for your shite arguments?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:38 PM
7

OP makes the claim that women say the things he claims, but OP fails to make a convincing canes that those arguments exist. Am I supposed to just agree with an argument that has no logic? Is this a forum for feels?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:33 PM
8

So why not say that more clearly (because there’s a lot to unpack there!)? I mean, how are the relationships with the women in your life?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:30 PM
2

You fail logic 101. Person A says: Blue people say red people are green. Person B says: Blue people don’t say red people are green. You claim that A agrees with B.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:27 PM
3

Do you think this common behaviour that we can extrapolate from?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:25 PM
18

Did you get a hate-boner when you typed that out?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:23 PM
12

No, because OP is saying that people are saying those things. I am saying that no one is saying those things.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:22 PM
6

By that logic the 9/11 victims were responsible for their choice to go to work that day.

Who are these women, they sound like a deluded RP fantasy, or TikTok Ragebait
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 09:19 PM

This is the strawmanniest argument that ever strawmanned. It’s like strawmanny-mc-strawman. If a strawman fucked a strawman and had strawman babies, they would exhibit fewer strawman traits than your post. No one is saying that finding women attractive or not wanting women to cheat on me is either objectifying or controlling.

How many women do you know in your personal life who are dating Jimmy the gangbanger, and do you life in Compton in the mid-to-late 90s?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 08:41 PM

Your logic appears to be: Some women claim to be able to smell red flags a mile off. Some women are unable to do this. Therefore: All women fail to take accountability.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 08:39 PM

It’s pretty accurate for how it feels if you’re not up for it. I’m a straight guy and in gay clubs the feeling of a pushy guy trying to close the deal is very much like being the prey. Of course, it’s no big deal. And the metaphor is no big deal either. And of course again, I’m not saying OP is pushy, but I’ve been the guy ‘on the hunt’ for women, and the metaphor felt apt not because I was pushy, but because I liked the macho label of being a hunter!
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 07:27 PM

Same word, slightly different meaning. When used as a phrase ‘have confidence in’: Meaning 1) To have confidence in something happening = be certain about something Meaning 2) To have confidence in yourself = to be self-assured and not anxious So yes, you can be confident that you will fail. And you can be confident you will win. If you just say he/she is confident/has a lot of confidence, then we take it to mean that they are self-assured.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 03:14 PM

That is a contradiction. Anyway, the use of such labels depends on the perspective of the labeller. For example, I am sex positive, so I don’t call anyone a whore in real life. A man or a woman who had lots of sex is just a person with a high libido.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 10:48 AM

If you hate women, then sleeping with them only addresses your libido, and not your need for partnership/love

Don’t both men and women tend to work these days? Earning a higher salary doesn’t equal working harder either. I’m a man, and I earn more than my partner, but my work is more stimulating and I have greater freedom re: work/life balance than my wife who is in a lower position and is a slave to targets and monitoring. But, of course, both men and women bring more to a relationship than money/work/reproduction. There is support, fun, love, excitement etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/25 01:27 PM
25

It’s a bit of an RP fantasy so they can call women whores, while at the same time wishing that they could be whores themselves. Of course some women have lots of sex, and thank the lord that they exist! What’s the actual percentage? I couldn’t give a shit. I hope it’s high, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/25 01:21 PM

Men want casual sex too. When I was in my man-whore phase I needed them lady-whores. And not just casual sex. Having a series of partners from your teen years to your thirties is just plain ol’ awesome. Why is it important for your wife to be a virgin?

I would ask that you meditate on attitudes to women generally in Turkey. Think about your attitudes to women, and whether you truly respect them and value their freedom and opinions. Because if I had grown up in Turkey, I’d probably be quite sexist.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/25 07:18 AM

The message has been my argument from my first post. It’s not such much ‘my defence’ as ‘the core concept that you don’t understand’. I didn’t say (oh look a strawman) that the statement ““I don’t give a shit what hole you stick your dick in” was not a considered a good take. I did say that the tone was likely humorous or irreverent. Being or irreverent is not bad. It’s an appropriate tone for a range of situations and interactions. Now, whether that tone is right for a couple in your original s…

Saying “I don’t give a shit what hole you stick your dick in” is likely either irrelevant or humorous in tone. If you have an irreverent and/or humorous communication style with your partner, then they surely respond positively to that tone. So in that case perhaps there would be no problem at all. The point is, it’s not that you support freedom that is the problem, it’s that you sound like you don’t care. So, your scenario just needs one of two conditions to elicit a positive response from the …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 07:03 PM

Again, the way you deliver the message is important. In the examples so far you have sounded moody or dismissive. If a man says, “Do what you want” that is indeed neutral If a man says, “Do what you want, I don’t give a shit” that is moody and dismissive. I don’t see how any of this relates to insecurity.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 06:53 PM

Of course you can be nice and controlling. That is bad. I didn’t argue in favour of that. Here’s some simple logic: Controlling but said in a nice way = bad Controlling in a moody/dismissive way = bad Lassez Being dismissive and moody = bad
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 06:33 PM

It’s how you say something changes the meaning. Your example was “You’re your own person, I don’t give a shit” That sounds like a dismissive or moody reply.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 06:17 PM

Apologies for making a caricature of your caricature. As pretty much every other person who replied to you has said, there are more options than being controlling or dismissive.

Yes, there are only two possible ways to reply to the woman in your hypothetical: “Don’t you DARE go out dressed that you FUCKING WHORE” And “Bitch, I ain’t finna be no stylist. You do you.” Why are women so difficult to please!?!??

I didn’t say that they do. This is one guy, but if I look on Google images, very few abusers are 8-10s.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 01:21 PM

That guy looks like a nerdy, basement swelling fat fuck. And just… ugly. Are there uglier people? Sure. My main point though was it is not hot people who are abusing. In fact, even though i don’t really agree, for the sake of argument I will concede that I am wrong and this guy is objectively bang average. Makes no difference to the core argument that looks are not related to likelihood of committing domestic abuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 12:55 PM

I’m a man, but dude, that dude is fugly. Like Redditor mod fugly (I jest!). Anyway, now it’s just opinion. I’m saying the pictures I see support my view, and you are saying that support your view.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 12:46 PM

I expect this particular man is an outlier because he is very ugly. Most men are not this ugly! But just google image for ‘male domestic abuse prison’ and it’s not exactly a gallery of 7s 8s and 9s! More like rough and bang average, with a few handsome guys and a few fuck ugly guys. I mean, you don’t actually have any evidence to the counter other than your feels, do you? You also seem to be implying that hot men WILL be assholes, which doesn’t make sense. Hot men, average men and ugly men can a…

/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 12:03 PM

It’s an example that shows that ugly men do abuse women, despite it not making sense to you. Do you have any data on the rates of abuse by good looking vs ugly men?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 12:03 PM

I don’t see how you can expect people to find a partner that they don’t find attractive. To your second point, ugly men do abuse women: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1wp572yljeo.amp
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 11:49 AM

What is your logic here? 1 - Women shouldn’t date men that they find attractive, because those men might abuse them 2 - Unattractive men do not abuse women ?

Evasion

Well, you write that feminists should push women to do things that they don’t want to do. It’s a very odd post, but if you’re just complaining that men are stigmatised and discouraged by feminism from doing bad things like stealthing and being dead-beat dads, then we can only conclude that you are in favour of such behaviour.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/25 11:53 PM
10

Perhaps you’ve noticed, but relationships and jobs are not the same. If we force women to date you, what happens when they don’t like you or want to have children with you? What policies exactly do you want to implement? If we look at your second point about sacrifice - then it’s possible to be quite reasonable. Men and women often make sacrifices for each other, and actually people even have sex when they don’t really feel like it, for any number of reasons from trying to get pregnant to trying…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/25 11:29 PM
25

So many of these argument boil down to “I wish society would force women to date me” And isn’t saying that women should have sex “when they don’t feel like it” forcing women to have sex against their will?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/25 10:33 PM
11

I’m a man and I don’t think of sex as the primary display of affection. ‘Affection’ literally means ‘a gentle feeling of fondness/liking’ Affection is footrubs, handholding and couch snuggles. Sex is raw animal passion and intimacy.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/25 12:10 PM

No, the only fallacy is your original strawman. OP compares it to maths, you would prefer if he compared it to humanities. He doesn’t. Sorry. It doesn’t matter what other posts talk about- OP talks specifically about evo-psych. Also, no double standard. There is no requirement to complain about every subset of the humanities. You’re now doing whataboutism.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/25 11:52 AM
0

You are fabricating the object of comparison. It’s literally a strawman. OP said “Evo-psych is sub par” OP said that proof-based mathematics is more rigorous. Therefore, the only logical object of comparison, and a tougher position to argue against, is that evo-psych is sub-par compared to proof-based mathematics. But you fabricate an easy object of comparison to argue against, one that OP didn’t mention or allude to.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/25 11:42 AM
1

I’m going to have to only address your first point, because it’s seems in such opposition to reality that I can’t get over it! 1 - I said that OP doesn’t not argue that evo-psych is sub par COMPARED TO OTHER HUMANITIES 2 - you say “Please - what’s in the header of the post” So, the head of the post says that eco-psych is sub-par. But once again; OP does not say that this is in comparison with other humanities.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/25 10:49 AM
3

I think it’s a stretch to compare animal and human art, when human art takes so many forms and is so much more complex. The quality is subjective but the complexity is what sets it apart. But… we also have science, computers, the internet and rocket ships. We’ve also worked out the effect gravity has on the relative passage of time and have built technology that implements that knowledge. Maths. That’s a fairly big one. Medicine, hospitals, transplant surgery. Nachos.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/25 10:35 PM
6

We already know we’re more complex than any other animal. No other animal has a written language or a culture of art
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/25 06:03 PM
10

Nowhere does OP argue that evo-psych is sub par compared to other humanities. Only you have said that. Apart from that, you appear to entirely agree with OP that such research is rarely fit for purpose.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/25 04:55 PM

I’m sure that if you asked some of them, they would say it was their duty. But how many? And Why? No wide scale study was done (or was likely even possible), and now we’ve missed the boat. So your claim is unfalsifiable. I world go further and say that the only duty that exists is to not cause direct harm to another. Choosing not to have children doesn’t cause harm unless one person in the relationship wants children - in which case forcing either party to live in opposition to their desire is i…

/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/25 12:52 PM

Yes I agree broadly when it comes to DEI, but I think that’s the only thing we agree on. No idea what you are talking about re: taking credit for others. And yes, it is because of both men and women that there are fewer children and nuclear families. It’s certainly better grow up with both parents - but how are single parent families exclusively the fault of women?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/25 12:19 PM

If any given man works harder than any given women, he is rewarded for it with money and/or status. Men and women can both get scholarships depending on their backgrounds. Personally, I would agree that fewer DEI type initiatives are a good idea, since the playing field appears to be more level these days. /r/PurplePillDebate18/10/25 07:11 PM

Oh you just mean “having lots of sex”. Yes. I agree that men can’t have sex with lots of people unless those people agree to have sex with them. Sexual expression is different. You can express your sexually though art or the way you present yourself to the world.

What’s stopping men from expressing themselves sexually?

What if being rejected didn’t caused an intolerable amount of stress?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/25 03:42 PM
1

Surely after the first rejection you learned that getting a number doesn't mean much? It sounds like in those cases the girls were afraid of being direct. It's easier to give someone your number and ghost than to outright reject. But, given your experience and your mindset, your finding the juice not worth the squeeze does make sense. It doesn't really matter, but your feeling like that doesn't mean that other men don't enjoy casual sex for the experience itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/25 03:22 PM
1

So the problem is that you personally react very strongly to rejection. That doesn’t mean that other people, even those who struggle, don’t enjoy sex for the carnal pleasure more than any other aspect.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/25 12:15 AM
2

Your logic is just sour grapes: "I find X very difficult, so there's no way most other people actually enjoy X, they just like other people to know they have X" And if the obstacle to ribeye steak was frequent or even constant rejection, I'd keep asking for steak. It's not like I'm actually harmed by being refused steak, and if I don't request steak, I'll never get any.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/25 11:18 PM
3

If I understand you, you’re saying that masturbation and gay sex are hedonistic. They are purely for pleasure. But you don’t think sex with women is for pleasure? Your logic is: Masturbation: For pleasure Gay sex: For pleasure Heterosexual sex: For kudos
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/25 10:01 PM
1

I don’t think anyone has ever said that any of those common gripes you list is emotional intelligence.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/25 07:25 PM
3

What about gay sex? Do you think gay men only have sex with other gay men because it makes them feel more like men? Does getting fucked in the ass make one feel like a man?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/25 03:59 PM
2

There’s some truth to that, but any fulfilment from that pales in comparison to the pleasure of actually doing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/25 03:43 PM
5

Jerking it gets rid of the urge, but the amount of pleasure pales in comparison to sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/25 03:23 PM

5

That is, in fact, not necessary when using the phrase. I like language though, and would be interested in seeing a definition where that is mentioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/25 08:25 AM
4

You say it yourself in your final paragraph.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/25 07:17 AM
4

So it’s a double edged sword?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/25 07:09 AM
1

Well, a relationship doesn’t really start until after a few dates, and the choice to continue dating is mutual. But that is still beside the point: The asker is making a choice about who to ask out.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 10:17 PM
1

I don’t think “no” is the correct first word of your answer, since you then just paraphrase the statements of mine that you quoted. The choice to accept is indeed the choice of the person who is asked out, but the choice of who to ask out lies with the asker. So yes, in such a situation, both parties have a different choice, and as you say, both parties choose.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 10:07 PM
2

A relationship only starts if someone asks the other person out. A relationship only starts if the other person accepts. It doesn’t matter who it is easier for, both parties choose. The relationship and the consent is interdependent.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 09:54 PM
1

Your first question doesn’t make sense. “Her more likely than their female counterpart?” I’m guessing a typo. Because men want casual sex, it is harder for women to find relationships. This is because men will often lead women on, to get sex: Woman: Would you like to go on a date? By the way, I’m looking for a relationship, not casual sex. Man: Me too! Of course, our hypothetical man above is just saying what the woman wants to hear, to get her into bed. So, for the women, she can perhaps only c…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 09:43 PM
3

Men are more keen than women to jump into bed for casual sex, and they are more reticent than women to start a relationship. That’s why there are gay saunas and glory holes. Men are generally up for anonymous sex. I suppose that’s also another flaw in your position that women do the choosing. Men, being more likely to use women for casual sex, have the power to choose their long-term partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 09:31 PM
3

In your example, the woman at the party will have an easier time finding casual sex, but not necessarily a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 09:19 PM
3

Exactly, so why did you claim such an argument?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 08:54 PM
6

No, I picked them. Sometimes the feeling wasn’t mutual, and sometimes it was. That’s the same for anyone, male or female. It’s easier for women to get casual sex, but that doesn’t stop men from choosing their partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 08:02 PM
10

It being easier for women to get casual sex does not prevent men from choosing a partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 07:42 PM
9

I’m a man and I’ve picked every parter I’ve had. You choose who you ask out. And if someone asks you out, you are free to refuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/25 07:41 PM
1

That’s weird. As a man, I’ve never felt the need to be patted on the back by society. I know when I’ve done good, and I know when I’ve done bad. Generally speaking, money and bitches are the reward.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/25 10:12 AM

Men here also tend to categorise everything they do as rational and logical, even if it is emotional, because it makes them feel better about themselves. Men here also tend to categorise everything that women do as emotional, even if it is logical, because again it doesn’t hurt their delicate world-view. Such whiny little cunts, and I right?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/25 01:28 PM

So what?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/25 12:18 PM

When such positions are held by a majority of people within a group, it’s fairly safe to say that those are the positions of that group.

And the mask slips.

There is no one true factual answer. Relationships and people are both complex systems which are themselves part of other complex systems. It is always short-sighted to draw conclusions about the nature of people from a limited pool of experience
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 06:17 AM
1

Right, but that, to a thinker, just sounds like gratuitous optimism from gratuitous optimism sake. What purpose does viewing things like that serve? Basically, thinkers tend to be utilitarian. They dispense with fluff and get down to what matters, as the former just clouds the latter. Being a thinker should mean that you examine the nature of your thought, and what it gets you. What I see here is cynicism combined with an enabling pity party. If that serves as a venting system and has actual pos…

It’s really somewhere in the middle. It’s not wrong to say that many if not almost all relationships are essentially transactional (negative), because it’s always possible to boil things down that way. The thing is, you don’t have to boil things down that way. You can cook up a narrative for life as you like. Like this, for instance: Almost all relationships are an emergent feature of humanity itself (neutral). Or even: Almost all relationships are the essence of what it is to be human: love, jo…

We split the bills.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 09:06 PM

Huh? I have sour grapes? Not sure I follow that. If you’re saying these women have sour grapes, then sure, some of them probably do. Best to avoid them and such media though. It would be like a women spending all her time reading incel/redpill forums and getting angry that all the men are poisoned bitter assholes. Sure, some of them are. Some of them might just be having some fun. But, on reflection, probably best to avoid it and such men.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 08:56 PM
2

That doesn’t make any sense. The argument is that women complain and hot men and then go for hot men. Are you now adding that the complaints of these women are that all men are trash? I think that’s actually harmless too. Think about it like this: Some women complain that all men are trash, some men complain that all women are hypogamous bitches. None of these people, or people that put stock into what they say, especially on social media, are going to be a great date. So, all you have to do is …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 08:50 PM
1

Wait… are you doing the Red pill trope thing…. The women is average or below average and a hot guy gives her attention, pumps and dumps… You guys are obsessed with that scenario as if it’s one of three of four archetypal relationships. Real life is more varied and complex. But anyway, if I was an average girl and a super hot guy wanted to fuck me, well sure I’d be happy to assume it was true love even if it wasn’t. Sounds like a nice fantasy. And then sure, I’d be upset afterwards and might even…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 08:28 PM

They don’t know they are bad news because they are not all bad news. Do you think every handsome dickslinger js a bad guy? And I don’t see many women saying “oh, I really want a not-handsome, not confident short guy with hang ups about women”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 07:45 PM
5

Ok fair enough. Personally I would avoid such forums - other than this one because everyone is clearly batshit. I’m curious though… why does a woman being upset about a bad experience with a man upset you? It doesn’t sound like empathy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 07:16 PM
7

They’re not talking to you, so you don’t have to hear it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 07:01 PM
12

Doesn’t it make perfect sense that tall, extroverted, sporty and (you forgot to add) handsome guys will get more attention than geeks? Alternative and handsome guys will do just fine too. Why do women choose them and warn against them? Well, I think you have to qualify ‘warn against’. Most women do not say “never date tall, extroverted, sporty and handsome men” Many women do say “be careful, super hot guys are often players” And that makes sense. Super hot guys are tempting. It’s like a warning …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 02:44 PM

Not at all. When rejecting someone, some women will react badly and others will let you down gently, and everything in between.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 09:53 AM
5

It’s ok to be accused of seeing someone as a romantic prospect if that is how you see them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 09:35 AM

But if women reject a ‘nice guy’ they have to say it, don’t they? So their words do match their actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 04:57 PM

Why do women have to admit that?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 04:56 PM

She referred to the data without making a claim as to the proportions. She just said that data doesn’t include certain cohorts. You’re claiming those cohorts are not a significant proportion of the whole set. How do you know that?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 04:35 PM
1

What’s the data on that?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 04:27 PM

I don’t think I understand the problem. No one is obligated to be romantically interested in anyone else. If you are friendzoned and have romantic feelings that are not reciprocated, then ending the relationship is fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 04:25 PM
2

Understanding makes things less special if you value the surface above all else. Oh no! There’s ganache under this brittle sugar filigree. What a downer. Or maybe that’s not it? It’s that understanding intrinsically reduces joy? I think there is an argument there, but it’s one of ignorance. Like imagining that Coltrane had no love of jazz because he understood it too well.

I’m struggling to see how the body of your post relates to women giving advice….
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 04:18 PM

Didn’t they just have orphans and bastards back then, with the same amount of care-free fucking?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 06:56 AM

Why do you think they would die of starvation, as opposed to just living in greater poverty and committing more crime to survive?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 05:40 AM

Wait… do you think that dismantling the welfare system would result in fewer single parent families? Wouldn’t there be the same amount but in greater poverty and with greater rates of crime?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 10:18 PM

Nah, it’s just a word and when I use it, there is no hate. In the above example, I was being irreverent of language, not hateful of women. I think I’ve only really hated about three or four people ever, and I always grew out of it and realised I was just annoyed at an aspect of myself that they reflected. Now, women who are promiscuous… absolutely fucking awesome. 🙌

Why should I be disgusted? Yes, it really is inconsequential. This is a diversion, not a vocation. The point of copy pasting was that I wanted a quick synopsis of why demographic collapse in some nations is not guaranteed. Should I have just thought it through manually? Probably, but to be honest it bothers me about as much as leaving a pint glass on the table vs taking it back to the bar when leaving a pub. I’m engaging now because I find your melodramatic tone quite interesting. To answer your…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/25 09:16 AM

What are the numbers on that?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/25 05:15 PM

Demographic reversal – unlikely, but possible if cultural norms shift rapidly or incentives significantly raise birth rates. Population replacement via immigration – politically hard in Japan/Korea, but not impossible if collapse risk forces change. Economic adaptation – automation, AI, and productivity gains reduce the need for a large workforce. Structural downsizing – urban planning, housing, and services scale to a smaller but stable population, avoiding systemic collapse.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/25 05:13 PM

No, but it’s a school-boy error. Wouldn’t it have been better if you hadn’t left yourself open for that? Anyway, if you insist, Red Pill rhetoric and Red Pill grifters knowingly prey on and profit from the insecure. And if one does escape the downward spiral of misanthropy and somehow sublimates in into some kind of Chad-Buddha, that enlightened self would still live misanthropic narratives, ultimately harming themselves and others.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/25 08:23 PM

I think ‘cringe’ is probably a better word than ‘immature’, but anyway…. No, Black pill is not insecure. It’s defeatist. Sure, they are also insecure. But defeatist is their defining characteristic. TRP is not necessarily insecure, and many aspects of it make sense - but ultimately It uses kernels of truth to prey on and reinforce insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/25 06:41 PM
1

I mean, it’s better that you’ve written it out like a grown up now, as opposed to “Hey, guys! It’s like in the Matrix when….” But I disagree with you: it’s not that Red Pill zealots were secure they ‘woke up’. It’s that these guys were already insecure, and TRP preys on and reinforces their insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/25 06:31 PM
2

Yes. I do. And the choice of staying asleep or waking up should be where the analogy ends, right? Or does Red Pill draw on more of the narrative of the movie? Do you think The Matrix is the source text of Red Pill philosophy?

/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/25 05:40 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 06:55 PM

I’m not discussing OP’s premise. I’m disagreeing with the Redditor that I relied to.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 06:02 PM

The topic of this slight tangent of a sub-thread is that some men think that women are unable to do the things that men do in order to maintain a functioning and developed society. I don’t disagree that most women are not interested in brick-laying, sewage work or trash removal. And further, fewer women than men are interesting in being a systems administrator or similar. Nevertheless, it seems pretty clear that women can do all of these things, since some do.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 01:54 PM

Just because you have some incompetent women in your company, doesn’t mean women are unable to do your job.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 01:12 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 12:58 PM

What part of “can you give an example that 80-90% of women have followed” do you. It understand? How could you possibly evidence that, as you seem to suggest, the proportion of women who are not feminists do support welfare?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 12:54 PM

Which is still well short of your 80-90%

/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 12:24 PM

You seem to be conflating ‘all men’ with the ‘some men’ who are actually productive. And you clearly used your family as an example of that. But, that’s an interesting point you raise. Can you name something that only a man can do?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 11:12 AM
5

Everyone wants to have broadly equal rights and opportunities.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 10:58 AM
14

If women were swiped from the earth we men would be fucked as a whole. It doesn’t matter how hard you work, or how limited your abilities are, you are not representative of all women. The men in your family are not representative of all men. There have been and are females leaders all over the world. They do just fine. I don’t get my news from social feeds.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 10:56 AM

Men and women are not exactly the same - they do different things. That doesn’t mean they don’t make equal contributions to society when they are able to. Many men are total deadbeats. Many women are hard workers who contribute to society. That doesn’t make either sex better than either.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 10:47 AM
1

So, your imagination.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 10:44 AM

That’s great that you have a hardworking family. But it seems very shortsighted to say that as a group ‘men’ are somehow superior to women because some men build things. Some men make the world go round. Some men start wars. Some men sit online all day and complain about women. Some women demand equal rights. Some women are absolute cunts. Some women support their children.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 10:40 AM

Maybe I’ve got the wrong end of the stick here, but I don’t see how a man being the primary breadwinner means that the woman either “only cares about money and status” or “demand equality but have no intention of being a provider”
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 09:10 AM

What proportion of women do you think that is?

2

Why is it men’s responsibility to make the first move?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/25 08:11 PM

Most women are approached and most women don’t really hate men. The women who hate men complain that all the men who approach them are bad. The women who hate men will not be happy with men, even if they approach them.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/25 06:26 PM

Do you not think people are socially conditioned to certain norms?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/25 06:10 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/25 05:01 PM

Nah, I’m average, maybe slightly above. Been asked out a few times. But I’ve done the asking waaaau more
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/25 04:43 PM

We are all products of our society. Most people don’t venture much out of the roles we’ve been conditioned to follow. Why would most women approach if everything they’ve seen from real life to moves shows the man chasing the woman? A better question would be “How come some women do ask men out, and what makes them different?”
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/25 04:28 PM

Those two paragraphs mean and imply different things. The first paragraph says you cannot argue with women. The second paragraph does not imply that you cannot argue with women, just that you need to be respectful. Really, it’s better rendered as non-gendered advice, combining the two paragraphs: People are emotional and often sensitive, especially if your message is not delivered respectfully. In this scenario, marriage is the required commitment. I’m a man, and marriage isn’t a huge deal for me. Personally, I see commitment as the behaviours each partner exhibits. However, I also understand that not everyone feels the same way. For my wife, marriage was important - more culturally than anything else. Since it wasn’t a big deal for me, I was happy to make her happy, and so we got married. I can imagine that it might have been a deal breaker for her though, and I’d have understood her …

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 09:40 AM

So, the solution is to stand your ground. “Look, I love you, and I want us to have a future together. But that means commitment. So I need you to make a commitment to me” No commitment, then leave. The bonus here is that you’re not forming a marriage based on manipulation.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 09:15 AM

I’m a man, so… I don’t really have a girl-boss ego. That said, I’ve dated women who have been very submissive, and women who have been very independent - and it’s all good. Yes. I am a man, and I am talking about this. I don’t think it’s a gotcha, but the person I replied to seemed more neutral about the TRP. I wanted to make my position clear that TRP is ‘a bad thing’.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 01:39 PM

So, TRP is a manifestation that stems from male trauma. And, as is often the case, it’s a manifestation that encourages further toxic behaviour.

Yeah, my point was that the very, very basic: “attractive men are attractive” and “motivated men are more attractive than basement gooners” axioms are common sense and largely true. That women “need a masculine presence to guide them through the world” sounds quite patronising and infantilising to me. I guess if you’re into rigid gender roles then that’s just like, your opinion, man.

Are you trying to excuse the gross parts of RP because some hippy woo shite is also gross?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:14 PM

Yes, much of RP is common sense self-help dressed up in bro-speak. And yes, many/most women prefer men who are attractive/strong/rich. I think if that’s all RP was, then there wouldn’t be much debate. It’s more the ‘women are whores/children who don’t find men sexually attractive (apart from the ones they do but they’re unicorn-chads) and they don’t love you like you love them and they’ll leave you as soon as a better option comes along’ stuff that is more debatable.

I’m married, and my wife and I are happy. We’ve been together for over ten years. I’m not easily replaceable, because my wife loves me, and she loves the world we’ve created together: The shared experiences, the in-jokes, the dreams and the struggles. Is it impossible that she will dump me? Of course not. But, is there any reason for her to dump me? It’s also a no. Why would I worry about something that is incredibly unlikely?

You seem to be contradicting yourself a little. You say “it’s about not being scared” but also that your paranoia is justified. Even if you attempt to ‘make peace’ with a constant state of paranoia, you’re still living in fear and anxiety - or perhaps resigned doomerism. Either way, it’s a form of mental illness.

I think that if you are so scared of being dumped or cheated on, that you feel the need to be in a state of highly strung constant vigilance, then being in a relationship is not good for you right now. I think there are a lot of questions that your post raises, but a good one to start with would be: How would you describe your general opinion of women, and the relationships you’ve had with women throughout your life?

Iggy Pop used to get his dick out all the time on stage, and he also vomited on his fans: https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/iggy-pop-vomit-on-audience/ People on stage ‘get away with’ gross and/or shocking behaviour all the time. This isn’t really a good angle for your victim complex.

Yes, but people tend to date those who are similar to them. So the pools match.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 02:44 PM

And you don’t have to look hard for comments from women stating the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 02:34 PM
1

Maybe, but being fussier just means you’re a member of a smaller pool who is also seeking another member of a smaller pool. If anything, your search could be easier since you know exactly what you want. There are still going to be hundreds or thousands of people in your group in your city. I suppose the only place this doesn’t work is small rural towns - but that’s not typically where young people want to live!
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 02:29 PM
2

Yeah that’s probably it. I’ve played with it a bit now - Seems be the biggest effect is the ‘age’ filter (unless you demand high salaries). If I (male) filter only by age and allow all other categories, I’m down to 7%/11 million But most people date around their age group - so I’m left with 11 million people who have a similar pool available to them. 11 million is quite a lot. I’m 40 and I’ve probably gone on less than 100 dates in my life. Even if I’d gone on a date with a different woman every…

No, I’m a man and by compatible I mean “someone with whom there is a mutual attraction”
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 01:40 PM
1

Is this a you thing? why do you think people find it hard to tolerate you?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 11:28 AM
1

I completely disagree. It's common to find someone who you are truly compatible with. Of course, you will both need to make compromises and adjustments as people change over time, and we all have our faults. Now, this brings us back to your original assertion - that seeking a compatible partner is like seeking 'a unicorn'. Perhaps, if you expect your partner to be perfect and to never disagree with you, then yes, you are chasing a unicorn. But - that's not what I was talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 11:17 AM
2

Something seems broken with that tool. If you open up all the filters to say you will date anyone, the max available pool is around 75%. Perhaps it is discounting people in relationships, but who are not married (since that is a filter)? Seems a bit whacky.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 11:13 AM
3

I now have no idea what you are talking about. Put your personality through a blender? Make life a living hell for someone?

/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 10:59 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 10:24 AM
9

No, just find someone you are compatible with.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 10:24 AM
10

Yes, I absolutely would blame them. People need to be encouraged to make smart decisions. Of course it’s easy to make mistakes when young and horny, but the best advice is: If someone appears to be an asshole, don’t hang out with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 09:03 AM
11

Well, that’s a pretty terrible method. Even if assholes you give attention, they will act assholishly. The best advice is to not pursue them.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 08:56 AM
17

What’s the alternative? Either never pursue relationships, or pursue people who are assholes?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 08:44 AM
65

Here’s a solution is possible to implement on the individual level: If you notice that a woman is selfish or entitled, don’t pursue a relationship with her.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 06:28 AM
4

It’s not that I can’t argue against it — it’s that there’s nothing to argue with. The claim is designed in a way (and not designed by you! You’re just parroting RP rhetoric, which is itself designed for the hard of thinking) that no outcome could ever disprove it, which makes it logically meaningless. Can you think of any situation that would prove your statement wrong? If not, that’s exactly what makes it unfalsifiable.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/25 10:40 AM
2

Well, yeah. If you suffer trauma then you do need to move on in some way.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/25 10:21 AM
3

This is unfalsifiable because: If a couple is attractive and happy → confirms the theory. If a couple is not attractive → the theory explains it as settling and future cheating. If a couple is unattractive and happy → the speaker might say they’re lying, deluded, or that cheating is inevitable but hasn’t occurred yet.

Bundy was famous across America - anyone could have written to him. Regarding fantasy: I sometimes jack off to a girl being railed by 10 black dudes. Or Japanese girls who drink a literal pint of semen. I do not want to date those women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 02:08 PM
11

Well, the whole 50 shades thing is entirely unrelated to anything. It’s a sexy fantasy… not reality. But I do agree with you that it was a stupid example. As for Bundy, most of the women who wrote to him did not know him. Anyone in the US could have written to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 01:54 PM
20

100s of women wrote to Bundy. Going by the US population, that’s pretty rare. 50 Shades sold about 15 million copies in the US. Assuming everyone who bought a copy was a woman (they weren’t), 4% of women are into BDSM fantasy - which is also unrelated to criminality.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 01:38 PM
2

Hey bro, Emma Watson was your example, and the article was your source. I guess you’re now saying that you have no idea what you’re talking about, and are imagining scenarios which would justify your position. Have at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 01:25 PM
2

Are you changing the subject? I thought we were discussing Emma Watson’s comments. You originally claimed that she wanted special treatment - but in the article she says that she wants to treat men exactly as she wants to be treated.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 01:20 PM
4

But the Emma Watson thing isn’t an example of women wanting things both ways, is it?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 12:51 PM
9

I agree, though if you read her original comments, she said that a man reacted poorly to her wanting to take him out. Her perception is that some men find it difficult to be taken out by a woman, and that she wants everyone to be comfortable and benefit from how nice it is to be taken out. So, basically, you got the wrong end of the stick. She wants equality.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 12:11 PM
3

So, really you’re just arguing for more precision in language on social media. That has my vote.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 09:39 AM

Here I partially agree, but it’s not so much that TERFS want to keep trad gender roles, just that they want to exclude trans women from bio women’s spaces.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 07:10 AM
5

If feminists get what they want, then a natural outcome is that men are no longer required to be ‘the stong’ and women are no longer required to be the ‘the dependant’ - so you get what you want too. Some feminists have indeed fought to join the infantry, and others have expressed concerns about men’s mental health - it’s all related. However, ‘men’s issues’ are never going to be the headline when it comes to ‘feminism’. The clue is in the name.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 07:08 AM

What aspects of traditional gender roles do feminists want to keep?

/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 06:31 AM

The expectation that men have to earn more is a trad gender role, and feminists want to end trad gender roles. Your second point is just a preference.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 05:13 AM

I’m not too sure about the example in your first paragraph. Getting rid of the glass ceiling /having a more equal distribution of high earners / ending social norms that dictate “men’s jobs” and “woman’s jobs” - all fairly standard stuff in feminism.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 08:07 AM

The comment I originally replied to was whining that trying to get laid was a thankless task. He wasn’t talking about starting a family. Of course men (myself included. I’m a dude) should try to get laid. It’s a fantastic past time and indeed leads to the creation of offspring (and having kids is widely praised). But I don’t expect anyone to praise me for chasing girls. And I especially won’t whine that trying to get laid is a thankless task. Jizzing in a bitch is the reward.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 04:00 PM

I'm a man. I travelled the world. It's easier to find a partner as a "romantic, experienced travelling the world man" than it is being a "stay in my hometown and post about how women have it easier on Reddit man". If anything, it's easier as a man. I am respected purely for being male in many countries, and local girls find the foreign guy a thrill. I might get attacked, but as a man I would find it easier to run away or fight back.

I don't think women would be suppressed in this type of society. Once their kids are in school they have tons of free time to do whatever they want. Learn skills, write books, etc. Also, have you ever considered that perhaps your greatest potential is reproduction? There's no suppression? So women are completely free to do what they want, to not have children, or to have children but have their husband look after the kids? If so - great! No, since you are making the claim, the onus is on you to prove it. What evidence do you have that this woman’s sentence was affected by her gender?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 07:10 AM
4

Not interchangeable, but very similar and with very similar sentencing guidelines. The country here is irrelevant - the fact is that this women received a sentence based on the severity of the crime and its impact on the victim - not her gender. Unless, do you have any evidence that her sentencing was affected by her gender?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 07:07 AM

A different country with a very similar legal system (for what I hope are obvious reasons). Look man, if you're obsessed with your perception of female privilege you'd be best finding news stories that don't have such obvious counter examples. Do better.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 07:02 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 06:57 AM

There is no proof - I made a ridiculous and inflammatory claim, just like your OP. I was hoping you'd notice the symmetry.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-20736003 A British man got a very light sentence (8 years) for killing his wife by setting fire to her. Why didn't his lack of female privilege result in a far harsher sentence?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 06:33 AM

Humans are extremely valuable. Yada yada yada A system that requires suppressing half the population to function isn’t efficient — it’s fragile. True productivity comes from maximising the potential of all people, not restricting it based on gender. Most advancements in technology have been driven by men, not women Even if men led in early tech, the societies that let everyone contribute — not just a select group — end up stronger, more stable, and more productive. Patriarchy wastes human potent…

Men holding power across all area of life = women relying on men (particularly their partners) to survive = more marriages = more children Once again, you cannot discount the fact that this was a fundamental aspect of most human societies. You just can't. It shaped the ways men and women interacted with eachother for thousands of years. I think your logic breaks down here. Oh lordy, this is one of the best exchanges I've ever read: Have you tried being a normal human at them? Yes, it doesn't work. Very sparse lucky situations. Not good enough for me. Take a step back and think about that exchange.

I learned it through trial and error. As I went from my mid to late teens, I started drinking socially and that helped a lot. I made a lot of faux pas, and I was an idiot (like most young men) but I eventually landed somewhere that worked well enough. I saw my self as behind the curve, socially, and the majority of men I was surrounded by seemed to take more naturally to being outgoing and friendly. It’s still an effort for me sometimes (like it is for many many people who probably lean towards …

Behaviours online are drastically different from real life. Real life dating often (and ideally) involves a pre-existing social connection. Totally different context and associated behaviours. You could argue that having more people to choose from makes them pickier, but hypergamy has been a thing long before dating apps existed. Most people date assortively. Hypergamy was arguably a thing when women relied on men for an income.

I was doing fine by the time I was 18/19, and then much better in my 20s. I think that's fairly common, and I wouldn't disagree with the argument that dating is harder for teenagers than it is for adults.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 01:46 PM
2

As I said in the comment you are replying to - this relates to online dating and not the real world. But, if we dig in a bit further, this data says that women are more selective than men, not than women exclusively select from the top 20%.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 01:42 PM

Being slightly above average height is the only non-average immutable characteristic that I have. Yes, being outgoing helps - but that was a learned skill. I was a computer game obsessed teenager and total nerd at school.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 01:40 PM
1

Once more, is there any evidence that this is causing 80% of men to struggle to find a partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 01:11 PM
1

I’m pretty sure I’m average. I do have height, but only a bit above average - everything else about me is pretty much just ok: 6ft tall Feminine features A few pounds overweight lower than average income until the last few years Outgoing and friendly personality Play sports but poorly

Very few people are probably perfectly average in every metric. But for me: - 40-ish years old - spot on 6ft - Feminine features - Below average income until recently - Outgoing and friendly/funny/silly personality Seems pretty middle of the road to me. And I don't hang out with weird sex-party people. Had I been shy (and looking at your profile, the 's' word seems appropriate), I would have had far fewer girlfriends and hookups.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 11:32 AM
2

Perhaps we all long, or at least feel transient lust, towards very attractive people. That still doesn't make the 80/20 thing true. Besides, I'm an average dude and I've had plenty of casual sex, short term relationships etc. I'm not in the top 20%. And it's not just me - it's everyone I know! I don't hang out with models.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 11:02 AM
1

No, sorry, I meant is there any evidence that this spills over into real life? All these studies say is that women swipe right less often and are more selective on dating apps. What about real life?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 10:38 AM
4

I don't believe this whole 80/20 thing. My experience and observation is that average women date average men. That is not to say that average women never go for the most handsomest fella, but people tend to date within their league. I would have thought that the most handsome men would tend to go for the most attractive women anyway. Why date down?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 10:24 AM
6

I partially agree. Many women have easy access to casual sex, compared to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 10:18 AM
3

Is it true though? Is there any evidence for what you say other than the OK Cupid study (and a Tinder study with 27 people that was methodologically flawed)?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 09:21 AM
4

Well based on dating apps studies women only choose top 20% of men. That was an OK Cupid study where 80% of men were rated as below medium attractiveness. It does not have bearing on the real world, and it doesn't actually even imply that women on choose the top 20%.

And how many times has this happened, or is it all entirely hypothetical?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 08:40 AM

I don't think it's as simple as that. Sometimes guys (like myself) just are not looking for a committed relationship. It's nothing about leagues. Every relationship is a gamble - the guy might commit or not, the girl might commit or someone might cheat - or someone might be an asshole. It's not supposed to be easy, or simple. Hence all the songs.

Yeah I’ve been that guy too, but I have been emotionally available. I think OP is just living in a revenge fantasy in his head.

Ahhh, got you. But no. My position is that of the other Redditors who replied to my post: OP is doing that whole “if you date him and not me you’re going to regret it. He’s an attractive asshole, but I’m average and dating me would be a fairy tale” thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 07:45 AM

Sorry man, it was an easy joke to make. Society is fully gynocentric and somehow it's getting worse. This is not true. Both of these statements are true: “Men and women are different” “People are different” We can find patterns everywhere, and we have evolved to be pattern recognition machines. We also really, really like attributing behaviours to someone’s ‘group’. Like this: “He did that because he’s a man, and we all know men are X” The same is true for women. Now, sometimes this kind of attribution is correct. However, when you’ve gone through a tough time, it’s natural to try to rationalise it. Are women cr…

Sure, if you can clearly examine each option, a bigger pool gives you more chances to spot the rare thing. But that only holds if you can efficiently scan or evaluate the whole set. In practice, expanding the pool often means more noise and more effort. The absolute number of mint chocolate chips might go up, but so does the number of everything else. And, bringing us back to dating - desirable personality traits, or rather UNdesirable ones are not so immediately obvious - unlike flavours in a t…

Casting a wider net doesn't necessarily increase the proportion of rare outcomes — it just increases the total number of observations. If the proportion stays the same, your chance of encountering mint choc doesn't improve, even with more flavours. In fact, increasing the number of options might dilute your chances unless mint choc is being added to the pool more frequently than others.

I completely agree that teaching people to be nicer to each other is a good idea. My problem was with this statement: But because a lot of angry men isn't good for anyone. It's an ambiguous statement, and has been used explicitly in this sub to attribute blame, and excuse violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 01:20 PM

I still don't see why increasing the pool of men increases the proportion of good men. Your proposed solution would mean women potentially date more men - but there is no reason to expect that to mean more good men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 01:18 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 12:34 PM

I agree that's a pretty reasonable position - and that kind of clarity is important in these discussions precisely because statements like "a lot of angry men isn't good for anyone" are ambiguous, and ripe for misinterpretation.
