I'm a millennial, but if thinking that if you're stupid enough to knock up a single mom, you should at least pay some child support and share a couple of weekends per month with the kid, makes me a Boomer, so be it. The kid is not at fault man, that's all.

This is not an option either. He fucked up, and he has to pay for it. This advice works BEFORE, not after. The kid does not have the fault, and leaving a kid without a dad and financially strangled is not acting like a man. Man up. Men going their own way is a philosophy that is applicable if you have no kids, or if your kids are older than 18.
