This is where a language problem arises. Biologically a trans woman is still male, there’s no way to change that (yet). But their gender identity is female. The problem is that people use the same words to refer to biological sex and (neurological) gender identity. A trans woman usually wants to be seen as female, so in day to day life it’s more appropriate to call them by their gender identity.
