I have a friend living in Denmark. She got separated from her husband. I have a lot of respect for her. I am just referring to the sentence "the lowest paying jobs paid enough to live on". As United States was the clearly the winner of WWII, it positioned itself as the dominant economic superpower in the world. This allowed to have massive exports and cheap imports of raw materials, enabling the middle class to thrive. One source of income was indeed enough for a house hold. ​ I am not talking about culture decadence, which would be another topic, although somehow related.

Men are dispensable, women are not. It is acceptable that young men die in battle, their value is low. It is not acceptable that young women die in battle, that will affect the survival of a society. However, when women get older, they start loosing that value. On the other hand, strong men that has survived the battle have more value, as they can impregnate several women with their strong genes.

When I saw it and read the comments, many people was saying this is the adult thing to do. Then I thought, "Ok, invert the terms".
