In my country there is no legal difference between a marriage and 2 people living together for 8 months.

I'm not trolling and I'm definitely not a feminist. This would be one of the only subreddits on reddit where I can get a logical, balanced and objectionable look at this situation. Don't accuse your own shadow of being a feminist on your way out.

Yeh I agree on all points I think. But how should I feel about this guy. Would it be fair to cut him from my life? because that's how I feel. I am confident the girl is telling the truth. If I did go ahead and cut him out of my life, how do I justify it to others and him?

I'm sorry I should have been more clear in my original post. he pinned her to the ground gropped and grabbed at her while she was saying no. When it became apparent to her that she was going to be raped she struck him and threatened to scream. Definitely sexual assault.

Interesting way of approaching it. I'm not sure I want to hang out with this guy anymore however. Is it ethical to not consider him my friend after this?

Sexual assault. I figured it was implied by saying someone intended to have sex with someone while pinning them to the ground. Also point of interest is that in my state the first person told of a sexual assault can press for charges without the actual victims input. Also I'm thinking this is about to break open as I'll get blamed for spreading false allegations. But I'm quite confident the female friends account of events are true. But I'm conflicted in the way of guilty until proven innocent.

Yeh this whole thing is going to blow open I think. Thing is the guy is 'popular' and the girl is quiet with tight nit friends etc. the guy has a history of being right by being the loudest. I'm definitely going to be accused of spreading false rape rumours etc. :/

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
