Do you think TRP pushes some people to become overly paranoid ? What do you think about conspiracy theories like these ? Yes. I don't know how they don't see it. The more fearful and paranoid they become the more "beta" they become as well. It makes me giggle.

I think it has more to do with intent. Generalizations are fine, but choosing the worst possible minority traits of any group, then applying it to the whole group as an inherent trait, and THEN building a philosophy off of that perspective to try and keep that group (any group, male / female, white/black, Christian/Atheist, conservative/liberal etc) in a secondary or inferior position, or to justify treating them as secondary or inferior is wrong for precisely that reason. The intent for buildin…

I.E. All men who are or used to be players are capable of leaving a LTR if he is bored and they are also capable of not wanting to put in effort to make the relationship work. I think that's a useful AMALT warning for women who date player types. All people are capable of leaving relationships if unfulfilled, or giving way less than the other party. It has nothing to do with players of either gender. And yes, it's certainly worth remembering that the other party in any LTR is their own person, c…

I see your example but is it all men are like that or all players? Even then, I've dated men who had previously had literal herem type situations, and they were faithful so it's all just stereotyping. It's not the severity of the outcome being compared, but the prevention of the outcome by being prepared and not being complacent that's being compared. But you're assuming a worst case outcome to start with. That's fine if you admit that to yourself, and accept how that will skew your perception. …

Also, "dogs" is useless. How so? All women are immature cunts and all men are dogs are expressing the same thing. Are you familiar with the warning "All guns are loaded"? Yes, the difference is people were not created (or did not evolve) with the sole purpose of killing. People can be dangerous, they are not inherently dangerous.

do you feel that these feelings are entirely justified or that there is some truth? Not entirely justified, no, not even close. But I do think that people are shaped by their experiences. If your mom was a gold digging whore, or your first love blew that other guy behind your back, while you were head over heels and faithful, then yea, you aren't going to view women as Disney Princesses anymore. I get that. It doesn't mean that the polar opposite view is correct either though. A key tenet of RP …

AWALT is just the same as when chicks might say "ugh, all men are dogs" when venting to their friends. I wouldn't build a philosophy off of that sentiment. Neither statement is correct, or objective and should not be used as a general rule of thumb.

No, I think it's pretty lame to play games like that. We either like each other or we don't. I'm a chick, and I only played those silly games in school. If a guy I'm hitting it off with starts playing "hard to get" or any of those games, I just end it because I figure he's either immature or a tool.

What is it exactly that men owe women? Uh...nothing. What is it exactly that women are entitled to get from men? Uh...nothing. People should treat the people they coexist with in society with a base level of equality in order for society as a whole to function well. So people should not be dicks to each other, regardless of gender.

Not ok. Someone who cheats that regularly and on "wives" not just some gf is a risk to trust or marry. Serial cheating on spouses definitely needs to be disclosed. Not ok. Can you imagine just happening to discover your long term SO or spouse killed someone? ...And hid it?No one wants to be surprised with having to live through some morbid "Lifetime" movie. Not ok. I agree. I'm not RP, or LaVeyan. I am a Satanist, but I take the theistic approach with my beliefs. I do agree with much of the LaVeyan philosophy though. Those aspects of RP, the self reliance, and responsibility, as well as the self improvement are all clearly beneficial. It's when RP crosses over into manipulation/abuse/bigotry that I think it starts to veer away from it's similarities to the Satanic philosophy.

Thought I landed in /r/satanism for a sec. Lol interesting. This is one of the few things I find I do agree with LaVey on. Treat people with the respect you require, until/unless they show they are undeserving of it. At that point, they no longer matter. I could see how that could be RP advice. It really just comes down to not letting people disrespect you or your intended good nature.

For some context, let me just say that as someone who subscribes to Red Pill, I don't think of AWALT as a literal expression of the whole female gender; rather a cautionary mindset to protect myself from the ones who "Are Like That", and to filter them out so that I don't get hurt, regardless of how positive or negative their true motives are. So it's like the "all men are dogs" mentality that some women have after they get hurt by a guy? As a woman who disagrees with the Red Pill, would you say…

I think each gender is honestly too varied to say that either is a better leader than the other. That likely comes down to an individual level. I go for equal partnerships, and we each take the "lead" when we are best suited to. I handle certain emotional and stressful situations more tactfully than my bf, so he sort of heeds my advice in those situations. But, he is better at handling other types of life stresses than I am, so I heed his advice other times. Learning to give and take like that, …

What part of "his half" did you not understand? I never said one thing about expecting a man to pay more than that. Or be a "dad" of any sort. If a man wants a stay at home mom/wife, and the woman wants that as well, to raise kids or whatever that's their choice to make, but that's not the default expectation anymore. (It is certainly becoming less of one, I know a few stay at home dads now). Red Pill's "alpha" nonsense makes it seem more important than it actually is now days.

Maybe she doesn't want to be his mom. I'd rather date a man that can carry his half of the bills, than some little boy that plays Xbox all day and still expects me to cook and clean after working all day. You can call it materialistic if you choose, but I call it being realistic.

Toxic behavior is toxic. Beneficial behavior is beneficial. Does red pill exist without the toxic behavior? For example, say you like women that are active; I biked 10 miles this morning. That doesn't mean that somehow precludes you from thinking I'm a cunt if I walk up and smack some dude in the face, get it? You fucking another chick who also biked 10 miles this morning, does not mean you're a hypocrite for not fucking me. Maybe the difference is the toxic behavior. Apples and oranges dude.

That goes both ways in modern societies. A famous woman has a bigger pool of likely higher quality men to choose from than me. So, what does that have to do with the subject at hand? Edit: words

Why would they have that need? Nearly all women had to get married, and most didn't have a say in whether they liked their husband. Why differentiate himself when he can easily find a wife, who he could legally fuck whether she liked him or not?

There was suppression. If your father, the government, the men you date, the people who raise you, all think a woman can not or should not be in the arts, you are not likely to explore or further any natural talents you may or may not have. I'm not sure why you act like it's some "excuse". Despite that, there were still prolific women writers; Mary Shelly, who was like 19 when she wrote Frankenstein, The Bronte Sisters, Silvia Plath, Ann Rice, etc... I think you won't hold it against me though when I say "people change" is not an excuse a man would emotionally be able to just settle for, even if he logically tries to. I agree. I never advocated settling, I said they should part ways if it will make them happier. I was listing reasons, not excuses. I'm sure I didn't say otherwise. No, you said "If sluts accepted commitment, then they wouldn't be sluts". I see your point after your explanation, but it initially looked like you were saying sluts break commitment (by not accepting it). Sometimes (not always) sex without commitment is what you really want though, so I wouldn't deem that settling for less, just getting what I want.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/15 10:18 PM

What would be your explanation of mechanism then? Assume the person she married does not fall under your point 2(slutshamer). In my opinion, if the relationship is good, and it's not bad experiences or slut shaming that cause it then there could be a few reasons. First off, the acts listed are primarily "rough" or bdsm related acts, not all people will like them (it is considered a kink for a reason), and also those that do enjoy kink, may not always like the same things. For example, I used to …

If sluts accepted commitment, then they wouldn't be sluts. I'd be considered a slut by most standards, when I'm single, but I've never once cheated on a boyfriend. These things aren't mutually exclusive, but that thinking is kind of the whole issue.

This is true for a very small minority of women with a reputation for slut. Most are sluts because they enjoy it. And because some make them want to have sex, while others, not so much. According to what? How do you define small minority, or know what "most sluts" think? I was actually told by Bluepill earlier that this is a deal breaker. :S Not husband material surely. And? I can't speak for all women, but in my experience if I refuse to do something with a man that I have done before, it's for two reasons, I tried it, didn't enjoy it (or found it painful, degrading etc) and so I do not wish to do it again. Or 2. I like it, but the man in question is up tight, he's called women sluts and shown that he'll view a woman as "less than" if she loses her inhibitions and enjoys her sexuality. I don't. A counter question is how can others expect men to risk divorce rape by marrying without a prenup, or marrying at all really? Marriage is a fucked institution these days, IMO our societies mating culture is extremely dysfunctional and very few people can really win from it. Good parallel. Divorce "rape" is about as rare as a man actually being worthy of being a "captain". So, fixing the system which takes advantage of either party, and ensuring equality would fix this problem for everyo…

This world is a cold, hard, ugly fucking place and it will never, ever get better no matter how much social "progress" religions etc people devise. Expect the worst or die naive. I agree with you completely. The thing I have a hard time understanding is, if this is true, and I agree it is, then how can you wish women to put themselves in such vulnerable positions? I was in a way for about 2 years. I never thought if it like that, I was just too fucked up from my previous relationship to even think of touching or trusting another man. I finished up my last college courses, found a good paying job, and started building some new friendships, then one day I met a guy and it we clicked. Can't speak for TRP but what I would do is: Quit bitching. Become colder. I wonder if me being cold and distant to my guy will make him all eager for cock and ball torture. He doesn't like the pain and it doesn't turn him on, but if he cares, he'll try it for me and the sake if the relationship, right? I mean especially if I'm being cold to him, that will totally turn him on and get him into an experimental mood.

At any rate you're probably going to need to send the gf to the doctor to see about that pain, a painful reaction to penetration ain't normal. There is no inherent intimacy. Quickies, one night stands, doggy style, none of that leads to intimacy, or very rarely does If your sex life is good enough to be intimate, it's because there is emotion behind it all. I've been having sex for a decade and outside of serious relationships, intimacy isn't really part of sex.

Agreed. I'm a woman. I have conservative friends who waited until marriage, and friends who have totally "slutted" it up. I have kinky friends, poly friends, all of it. Dudes talk shit. I'm of course discussing Western feminism, which naturally could give a fuck about women in the third world with actual problems. I tend to agree, if I base my opinion on "internet feminism", which is why I stated that I did not refer to myself as a feminist, to avoid those assumptions. I stated what feminism was started for, which is equality, and why I respect feminism as a philosophy of equality, even if some of it's modern proponents have misunderstood and corrupted the original message. You mean a major issue in the western media? And on the internet, something people in the places most in need of feminism, often don't have much access to (if any)? Yes, some people go overboard with social justice movements, but that does not negate the message. Women are not second class citizens, all people are people, and should be considered equals.

Actually, yes. I believe I can see your point, so thank you for that. Basically what I'm seeing is this; I answered the question in a normal brief sort of way, and though I mentioned him being dominant in bed, I did not express the importance of him also not being a doormat and all that. True. That might lead a man to believe that him having a backbone is unimportant to me, and give him the impression that he could then succeed in dating/fucking me. That's a fair point. Now, I answered the quest…

What does this have to do with the discussion at hand? This discussion is about feminism, the equality movement. The thread you linked is asking people to define feminine and masculine traits, and what they believe makes someone behave in a feminine way. People having different traits or differences in behavior, does not make any one person above or below another, both are still people, and should be treated as such, which is that whole equality thing I was talking about.

Your post is a pretty good example for female advice: you're mostly listing what are perfect examples of what I call a 2nd tier traits - traits that show personal compatibility and are great if you want to make a relationship long term, but don't say much about how to The discussion isn't about how to create a long term relationship, it's about men claiming women don't know what they want, and me stating that I do in fact know what I want. Men, unlike women, actually have a pretty good idea what they want. But, if you are a man, and men and women are such different creatures, then how can you presume to know whether women know what they want or not? The fisherman can observe the fish's behavior, but it can't read it's thoughts. I'm a woman, my friends are women, and we all know damn well what we want (and shocker, we rarely agree). To me feminism was started for equality. It had (or has, depending on your perspective) to focus on the areas women are skilled in, or areas where they were (or are) being kept down, in order to raise women out of 2nd class status and into equality. I like that aspect. I believe in total equality (same physical requirements for jobs, equal pay, all of it) and when I say that some people call me a feminist. I think you are missing my point. If you fuck or date, or spin, or whatever a chick you are already inherently stating that you find her reasonably attractive or worth fucking. Right? So, then the only reason to assign a number system is so that you can explain to other men (who can't see her) that they too would likely find her attractive. So the male need for the approval/jealousy/etc that he gets by knowing other men would also find the woman he's with attractive is the reason for assigning a…

I'm aware of the difference. The causation that leads to using the numeric system in TRP, is that men want women that are desirable to other men. You assign the women in your lives numerical value because you want to state if she is desirable or undesirable based on the general standards of other men. If her desirability to other men is not the cause of your attraction, then why is her numerical value necessary?

Well my bf doesn't like makeup on women, and has told me repeatedly he prefers me without it. I, however have worn it for years, and feel more confident with a bit of mascara and all that. Men do not like women based on how desired they are by other men. There may be correlation, but there is no causation. Lol then why assign women numerical value during field reports? Isn't that to show the other RPers that you can pull a hot chick? Isn't the numerical value that you assign (to a living person by the way) your way of stating that a large portion of males would also desire said female? Objectification is not just about sex. A woman who is a gold digger, who is only with a guy for his money, is objectifying him. A man who just sees a woman as a fuck toy, who has no concern or caring for her as a person is objectifying her. I feel like if I chose either option then the other option would end up happening as well. If we spend all day fucking, we end up having those long intimate cuddle/talks anyway and vise versa, at least in my current relationship

I think verbal provocation should be met with a verbal retort, and if anyone (male or female) gets violent then they have really earned whatever beating they get. A female should NOT be able to strike a male and then have her friends kick his ass for hitting her back. I was raised to never swing unless I was ready for them to swing back and I think that's perfectly reasonable. I understand the amount societal pressure men have to not disrespect or hit a woman, and sometimes they do have to walk …

If a debater really was being disrespectful, just tell them you refuse to carry on the conversation in that tone. Oh I will lol :) I'm pretty new here, but so far I haven't really run into much disrespect, which has been awesome. Odd. That's not a criticism I usually get. The one I usually get is its biotroofs(nope, not exaggerating). RP has plenty actually. Yea I was looking for the basis of those "biotruths", so far it seems like a philosophy of primitive mating strategy mixed with dashes of F…

Oh no, it was a debate. Mainly anecdotal, but a debate lol, it just kept going around in circles. I argued that TRP had yet to show proof or studies that supported their biological "understanding" of women, and he argued that such studies would never be published so obviously TRP was right anyway. Lol

Thank you for this. I had a VERY long winded debate with an TRPer about how it seemed like these techniques would only work on CERTAIN woman, and so their conclusions about women are in fact not applicable to women as a whole. But of course I was essentially told that RP was truth and I was a silly woman who just didn't like the "truth". Obviously this isn't confirmative proof, but it's definitely an interesting study.

You can not publish such a reshearch without ending your career. Hahaha wow really? That's what you're going with? I suppose the fact that scientists throughout history were willing to be called heretics and risk not only their careers but in some cases they risked imprisonment or even death in order to stand by their proof is just being disregarded here? Out of all the scientists alive, not one has the balls to prove these arguments? I find that highly unlikely. I assume most people would. You …

I'm okay with that, I react to stereotypical prejudice, like SJW react to "injustice" I agree, they react as if they are being victimized as well. It's not about fault, that is just how they are. Ok, if that's the case then please show me some tangible proof. If it's really some "biological" truth then where is all the proof? I've never seen a reputable scientific study that supported the claims RP makes about women. If they exist, I'd love to see them and then I will adjust my philosophy accord…

You misunderstood, for all intents and purposes you are a feminist. Ok, let's run with that assumption, in fact it supports a point of mine farther down. Your assumtion that alpha is gamey and that it is directed at easy women, is a indicator of how narrow you think of the game. I'm assuming this based only on the reports given by self proclaimed Red Piller's. I assume that they play a numbers game, and that those tactics cater to the "lowest common denominator". This would mean that it has a hi…

How you call yourself is irrelevant. I'm aware, I was only responding to your irrelevant assumption about me :) This is the important part. I have not met a emotionally stable woman under the age of 47./respectively, one I could not get using those "tricks" I'm not surprised, that's what I just said was happening. Can mainstream feminism agree to that? I have no idea, I've never once referred to myself as a feminist. Figure what out? If she is suddenly "playing dumb", perhaps her libido was killed too and that's her polite way of informing you she's not interested any longer. In which case, you trying to use body language and words to manipulate her back into wanting to fuck have an inherent risk of making you look like a jerk and making her get more nervous. Yes, sometimes it's meant as a playful game and pushing past her LMR is what she wants you to do. But it seems risky (and a bit arrogant) to assume that is usually the …

I've wondered this myself. I'm a bit of a masochist, and I've experimented with consensual non consent, but just because I'm into that sometimes, doesn't mean I don't mean it when I say no. I make sure my kinks are discussed. It's completely unrealistic (and dangerous) to extrapolate what some women like to the whole fucking female population. They should not assume that a human having a pussy means she is incapable of rationally consenting to sex and that any time she says no it's a "shit test"…

Now that I'm an adult it's very rare to be confronted by rude people (outside of customers at work). Most men are civil and at least friendly as an acquaintance. Do you believe alimony is necessary or relevant today? Why or why not? Not as a general rule, no. I think in cases where one party stayed home for the kids (which isn't too common in today's economy), then maybe there should be some type of alimony for 1 year or something to allow that party reasonable time to re-enter the job market. But it should be regardless of gender. Also, if the SAH party files for divorce (except in cases of abuse, or infidelity or something), then no alimony should even…

Would I be right to assume you like being "in control" during a altered state? No, quite the opposite, I don't want control. It's very similar to the sexually submissive urge I mentioned. In my opinion, the whole point of any recreational substance is to lose yourself in it for a short time. I have issues with the kink community, that complementarity takes place also at a emotional level. I don't participate in the community either, the dynamic is best when it comes about naturally. Nope, as long as I respect him and his sense of right and wrong, what do I care what is "1st" at any given time? Some could say that my "spiritual" beliefs come 1st to me, I would never change my beliefs for any man. No, he doesn't "owe" me a trip, I can spend my savings on one if I'd like to go. When I say compromise, I mean he loses his own standards for his addiction. He let's it use him like a doormat. I guess I see an addict as something similar to what RP would call "losing frame" in a very broad sense. If a man is so addicted to coke that he loses the career he's working for, if he is so addicted to pussy that he breaks up his family, if he spends so much on his bike that we are behind on our mortgage…

Ah, so it comes down to the addiction then. True, there are likely a (small) percentage of addicts who fall into the drug and then once they get clean, they never become a slave to it again. But the vast majority relapse multiple times (I'm on mobile, but I'm sure there are reliable rehab stats somewhere). It's an unfortunate weakness that is common in the addictive personality. So, I tend to be turned off by addicts in general because I know he know has a high likelihood of relapse. It can be f…

Oh, and to your self indulgence question, I enjoy indulgence, I think all drugs should be legal actually. Everyone should try them, I've done most of them myself. I don't think it's necessarily that we leverage LESS. I find that it's because the traits we leverage become more SPECIFIC. Take you point about young woman wanting "emotional" men. When I was 16-19, yes, I was needy and needed him to handle my emotional baggage. But now I say, I just need to trust him to know right and wrong and to be faithful. Well that's because I realized that if a man truly knows right and wrong and is actually monogamous he wouldn't to anything to hurt a woman he loves. If…

Not in my opinion. I find that men can be just as excited and volatile when they are passionate about something. Whether it's a career, something in the arts, or just a philosophy. I just look for (and find) the exciting ones who are too strong too be a complete slave to anything other than their main passion. And if it turns out that their true passion is something like addiction (not recreational drug use), or the thrill of cheating, then I lose respect, and with that, any feelings are impossi…

3 beers? Haha no. Having a good time, even getting blackout drunk from time to time is vastly different than being an addict. Now, if he tells me he goes to AA that's a different. Your statement is in no way accurate. A guy who sticks to one chick at a time and has never blown a dude under a bridge for coke is not by default boring. Being a slave to a substance (or your cock) makes a man weak in my opinion and I find it difficult to fall in love someone I don't respect.

Yep, it's fucking silly. If I had no standards I'd be a slut, but my super simplified post of "core" traits is irrational. I assume they are annoyed because they are either incapable of meeting those standards and so the thought of a woman "rejecting" them outright bothers them. Or, because it doesn't fit into their theory of AWALT.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/14 05:07 PM
5

Are you asking when I lowered my standards to my self described "core" criteria? Do you understand what "core" means? It means I was just listing the basics. There are, as I said, about a million other traits that factor in, but a basic outline of a "good" man (to me) is what I was describing. Does it bother you that it's not detailed? Or did you get snarky because it doesn't fit in with your mentality?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/14 04:58 PM
11

Irrational? Why? Because I want a monogamous guy with a mature head on his shoulders? I'm monogamous woman, with no addictions and I can take care of myself financially. I think I have every right to expect the same. Just because he has those basic features doesn't mean he's not exciting.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/14 04:52 PM
8

True, but I'm not going to build a life with someone who I can't trust not to relapse. I was describing the important or non negotiable "core" traits, obviously individual personality and about a million other traits can be factored in as well. But no matter how sexy, confident, or strong a man is, if he doesn't have those traits, I will never fall for him. As I said, that's just my opinion though.

My dad was a drunk, I don't feel like being treated the way he treated my mother. As for the unemployment, I said I wanted him to stand on his own 2 feet, which includes working but I meant mainly just being a functioning, responsible adult. Like, if we live together then I need to know he can take care of his half of the rent/utilities.

I think it probably means something different for everyone. It's just basically a way of saying they aren't finding the type of men they want. Personally, my important traits are: Be faithful (I'm a monogamous person), be capable and willing to stand on your own 2 feet, be honorable (I need to know that deep down he has a sense of right and wrong), and no addictions (this one is just for personal reasons).
