I have never claimed studies, you have. This is an article, cite the source. This also speaks about a very specific demographic, even if it is true.If you don’t know the difference, I stand by my deliberately obtuse opinion .

Cite your sources. Asking for responsive desire is communication, and those using such terminology are likely in therapy. It’s not moving goal post or wanting others, men are just not willing to put in the work. Heaven forbid his wife doesn’t center him!

What about asking for the things that build responsive desire; emotional safety, slow build, more non sexual touch, more communication….says that she doesn’t love him?

Sorry, that is such a cope. If you truly think speaking about responsive desire is spouting, then you not only don’t understand women, but you are being deliberately obtuse.

I think this is shifting; today I think more women are taking more agency. As an older women, that’s just not the way society was. Just as today you hear much more about the male loneliness epidemic, when I was younger women worried much more about being alone and sexual satisfaction was rare for women….it was just the way it was. If you were ‘too worried’ about sexual satisfaction, you were a slut. Do you consider bringing your partner to orgasm a burden? I would hope that mutual satisfaction a…

That is not true. A women can be completely in love and desire a man….but he lacks skill and the motivation to improve his lovemaking skills thus the orgasm gap. Society has long trained women and men that it is expected that a man reach orgasm with sex, and that is often the end of sex. If the women doesn’t achieve orgasm…oh, well.

I read your posts because I can and had a feeling they would be relevant, and I was right. You really can’t hide from everyone, even if you’re actively hiding from yourself. So you lost your good job. Even if you want to hide from your subconscious, the fact remains that deep down you felt that this was one of the best things you had going for you. You mistake women who can be friends with a guy, but see that there are not the kind of man whom they would quantify as a man worth dating, so they d…

You seem very obsessed with this interaction. You first posted about this girl with the biter ex 9/24 and in that post you said that your date with her was about a year ago….so here it is years later and you’re still trying clinging to this one interaction? You said in your OP this is the last girl you’ve dated? If you haven’t had a date in almost 3 years, even though "I work out, I eat pretty well, I'm about six foot, I have a good job," don’t you think you might want to consider your personali…

I think that is changing rapidly. For the younger generations, more and more are just not interested in dating at all, I know my daughter and her peers currently feel this way. They have all had boyfriends and had such negative experiences that they are already burned out.

A good analogy is gun safety. When you are learning to use a firearm, for safety you’re taught to treat each gun as loaded, even if you think it’s not. Because safety is the most important issue. Women have begun to feel the same. We can’t tell which men are dangerous, which men are emotionally unstable, which ones are just misogynistic, which ones are just assholes. Because there is so much manosphere rhetoric and very little push back from other men, women are going to, for their safety and pe…

Well said. It’s refreshing to see this said. ETA: imagine downvoting a man for Gasp! acknowledging the hard work his wife puts in. The horrors! I think it speaks volumes about the type of people responding to this thread.
/r/MensRights17/06/26 11:09 PM

That’s a strawman argument, I never said anything about single mothers. But, let’s address it: I think you mean one study, not math, shows worse outcomes. I am aware of that study, you are parsing the conclusion. The conclusion of that study includes socioeconomic factors that states single dads have higher incomes that leads to more support via paid caregivers. As well as more social support, family members often pitch in more for single dads vs single moms.

"Fighting a losing battle"….naw, 20 years is a drop in the bucket; beside I see no trustworthy empirical data, and no antidotal evidence that women won’t continue to use these strategie, and create more. I see a vast difference in attitude between my son and DIL and their peers (38/39) and my daughter and her peers (17). "They don't need men so they can pull themselves up by their bootstraps with their superior agency and social & emotional intelligence." Agreed "women don't value a bunch of men…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 11:07 PM

That’s exactly what not mutually exclusive means: both can be true. As far as women striving to create social support for themselves, there is a lot to factor in, including 1000s of years of social and cultural conditioning. To be fair, men are struggling with similar issues. For 1000s of years they have been the providers and protectors, but now are being asked to take equal share and responsibility in domestic labor and child rearing. That doesn’t mean that those things are not worth striving …
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 09:55 PM

Those things aren’t mutually exclusive. One can feel and express loneliness from a lack of romantic love and still strive to create a life that brings them joy through hobbies, social circles, friends and family, fellowship via groups and clubs. Can both men and women do that absolutely, but women tend to do it more. Women often do have more emotional intelligence, which leads them to be more self aware and take accountability for their own happiness. Where as men tend to complain more and push …

I think you fail to understand that women have a heightened awareness and can access fairly quickly. Sociologist call it predictive processing, and say women have a heightened awareness of behaviors and behavior indicators. In dating apps, many women I know use the burned haystack method, where learning to watch for troubling language is a core tenant.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 04:47 PM

It’s exactly the point. You provided the analogy, I was just following along. If the men on the shelf all exhibit poor behavior, including lack of self control, lack of empathy, lack of accountability, not willing to be a true partner…..then in the end they cause more harm than good and are they are not really a choice…..so, they get left on the shelf.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 04:30 PM

Of course! Because she recognizes that the All-Bran is going to tear up her stomach, and make her feel ill. It’s not really a choice, so she would rather go without.

Sadly, these days average is shitty…and I am not talking looks. I am talking, a decent human being with emotional intelligence wanting a true partnership. I am sure you consider your self at least average, right? But thinking women are larping loneliness is shitty. It shows no empathy and a complete lack of social awareness. I think they are becoming way less common. My generation lived on this mantra, some version of: a good woman can help change a man for the better. Younger generations, rightfully so are noping out of that. No more falling for ‘what a man could be’, show me you are a good human being first.

Agreed. What I see a huge difference in is…..my peer group was willing to put up with these traits, explain away unequal behavior, seeing ‘potential’, etc to be with a man; to have a relationship, get married, start families….but younger women are not. My generation considered getting married/having kids as a requirement for overall life happiness and ‘success’. Younger Women are actively choosing to stay single. Do you understand there is a difference between a 2 second look and subsequent thought of…."he’s cute" or "he’s sexy"…..but then not wanting to talk to him or date him, let alone have sex with him. Women can recognize physical traits, but have not desire to act on them. More importantly, they can actively decide to live a life without men based on the way they behave.

It’s ok, I understand that you don’t know how to read an analysis, many don’t. You don’t even get that the quote you are using shows the author introduces value assigned by their own subjective opinion, "The ideal weight for men is considered to be normal to heavyweight" , "Thinness is a dimension of attractiveness for women". There is not definition or quantification where these suppositions came from.

Claims you don’t know because you couldn’t be arsed to read the actual study, you just took your confirmation bias and ran with it. I broke down above why this study is BS. Another good example of this happening is the infamous ridiculous ‘pair bonding’ study which has been debunked so many times most people don’t even attempt it cite it anymore, but it remains quoted by numerous religious organizations who paid for the study in the first place.

u/JollyRoger66689 and u/Somerandomdudereborn This is why you always need to read the study not an article or the quotes. You need to know the methodology, sample size, who paid for the study. Well, yes and no….. Both report moments of loneliness, which is understandable, everyone can feel that way at different points. But if you read the full report, women significantly seek support more often; furthermore, a significant higher percentage of women report being able to find relief from that support. Fair enough. In the spirit of your response, I will answer in earnest. Comments like your original one are exactly what emotional intelligence is about. I find this to be true, but the cause and effect are unknown. Today women are much happier to be alone rather than settle; whereas men now seem to fear being alone similarly to women of past (old maid troupe). It is generally accepted that women needing/wanting men in the past was far more pragmatic vs romantic. I don’t think men truly desire partnership with women, if they did they would be happy to do the emotional work to have one. They just miss being centered and catered to.

Hard disagree on this one. I earned far more than my husband for the majority of our 35 year marriage…and due to my women friends often being made from co-workers, who were all high earners, many, if not most had the same dynamic.

Based on my adult children and their peers experience, as well as the hundreds of young adults I managed, you are over estimating women’s desires to have a ‘provider’. Other than not wanting a man who is truly unmotivated, what women express over and over is wanting someone who is emotionally intelligent and wants a true partnership. I don’t disagree with any of this, except I would add….. 😂🤣 Are you being disingenuous or just obtuse? A ’policy’ that factually is pure rhetoric (due to it logistically never happening anyway) of a highly privileged person comes nowhere near the original concept proposed here. This is an outdated thought. Women these days are more and more embracing defining their own life. If love/the right man comes along, great; if not so be it. This is of course, "not all men" and we don’t hate men (as much as that rhetoric floats around), we are simply pragmatic about the number of worthy partners around. And usually the judgement is nothing to do with money, looks, or height. It all has to do with behavior. So again, if we get ‘lucky’, fantastic; why wouldn’t anyone want that….b…

Just because you don’t see it, or can’t sustain does mean it doesn’t happen. That’s called projection.

I feel for you, I really do. Earnest question, what percentage of women out there dating do you perceive ’don’t have a bone to pick with men?’ As I mentioned I am the mom to 3 sons; 1 who is married and 2 who date, 1 of those has been seriously dating a girl for about 6 months and it is moving into more serious territory. I know my sons to be ’good men’….by my definition: truly believe woman are equals, are fully capable and willing to do household chores and carry their own mental load. On top …

Absolutely, SSRIs are a biological nightmare. Since one of the major side effects is destruction of microbiota, where a large percentage of neural modulators are created, including over 70% of one’s serotonin. And since one’s ability to synthesize those neural modulators is dependent on B vitamins, our governments misguided ‘fortified’ grains experiment has had disastrous unintended consequences. Correlation and causation is hard to quantify, especially when no one wants to study the effects, bu…

Oh, and another thought: if woman will regret choosing to be alone down road, is really not part of the equation in their beliefs or behavior. Most truly believe they will not regret it; that belief drives their behavior. And like most self propagated beliefs, society(especially men) telling them they are wrong actually causes them to cling to their ideals more.

That all sounds reasonable, but we just have different perspectives. I firmly believe most women will not be regretful, you think they will. Only time will tell. And the results aren’t set in stone either. The current attack on women’s autonomy may certainly play a part. Since you seem to be intelligent, I will bring up a subject most aren’t able to comprehend or want to see (willful ignorance)….our environment is causing gene expressions that are contributing to this growing lack of interest of…

Sorry, but critical thinking would say that my large pool of data; as well as being a women…as well as occam’s razor would suggest my perspective is the more common one, and will continue to be more and more common, unless there is a large social shift. As I said, I can understand your personal disbelief, as well as men’s in general, but that’s pure projection. As far as missing out on a romantic connection, that’s shifting with the time. I know many of my peers in youth felt that way, but most …

This is where there is an odd projection of their own mindsets on to women. I have been married for 33 years, but my observations come from friends, family, co-workers/employees, business associates , and a women’s group I belong to. If I should ever get divorced or widowed, I would never remarry. My house would be empty when I wanted it to be and full of joy when I wanted it to be…..pretty much how it is now. I am fortunate to be a good cook, have a lovely backyard with a pool and pizza oven, a…

Sure there are women who are too picky, but it’s a very small number. There are also a small number of bad faith women, but again from my perspective (including as a mom of three boys; one recently married and two dating age and their friends) that is a very low number. If some men are continually attracting those kind of women, then perhaps they should look at their own patterns of why they are attracting/ attracted to that type.

I am in a local women’s group where there are 2 events each week. We do crafts, try new restaurants, go to movies, plays, etc. There are also outdoor activities hiking, camping, the ubiquitous pickleball. There are also organized trips, everything from short trips to long trips and foreign travel. It’s a fairly large group of about 300 women, with an average attendance of about 75 per event, as people attend what interests them, is convenient for them. About 25% are married, the rest single. As …

🤣😂 sorry, this is flat out delusional. Yes many woman are urging only choosing good men or being alone…but it’s not grifters or misandry. We, as a whole feel it’s better, to be alone than with wrong guy….and I say this as a women married for 33 years. The shift is easy to see.

Look into the new haystack dating, women are doing deep dives on what’s written on men’s profiles far more than their looks or claims about finances. This how women are selecting men, not some dreamed up list men use as a self protective mechanism…boo! hoo! Women don’t pick me because I am not tall enough, or make enough, or whatever their personal excuse is. Echoing what so many women have said here…and elsewhere….if love and the right man comes along great, if he doesn’t, we’ll have our nice, …

For whom? As many woman have said over: Women are happy being single; young, old, it doesn’t really matter. If love comes along, great….if doesn’t, they are happily in control of their own lives….with clean homes, eating what they want, traveling when and where they want, have a supportive network of friends, on and on…all the while not putting up with (not all men) by a significant majority of men’s bad behavior. This is a relative new trend. But with the ability to have a well paying job, bank…

Stash money is going to be a very small amount of people and is rhetoric thrown out there a lot. Think about it logically, what percentage of people are living paycheck to paycheck, especially right now…their budgets simply are not going to allow either men or women to stash money away.

Nope. You failed to see my other responses to him. I explained my observations, with my own 3 sons. 1 who recently got married, 2 who are still single. I worked in a male dominated field, so have had a life time to observe men. And I think my perspective is nuanced and fairly fair. Was a bit flip, perhaps….but since I had try and explain it multiple times and he spouts off with a have a good life, it was relevant to remind him that his attitude, Is likely the issue. Sometimes, when someone willf…

No, not really….I engaged him in earnest, with thoughtful responses to his questions…. And then he kept making excuses and diving into rhetoric, that completely proved my initial post…Many of the people claiming to be ’good guys’ and blaming their situations on ‘Chad’s’, are not in fact good guys. He tried to write me and my deduction off with…have a good life, so I pointed out the basic facts. I do have a good life, that I built by being a decent human and raised four decent humans, including 3…

Because the name is hoe math….hoe is a derogatory, rhetoric slur. Truly if you think this is OK, you have found your problem. Thanks, I have a good life: married for 33 years, 4 great kids, retired early.….it’s you that asked the question and is struggling….but sure cling to…But I am a good guy. 🤣😂 what in the strawman projection is that? In my other response to you, I call out bad behavior, regardless of gender. As I mentioned, I have 3 sons (also have one daughter), I tend to look at people as humans, with good sides, bad sides, wonderfully intricate humans….gender doesn’t even come into play. If this had said gigilo math, I would have called it out, as well. ETA: Sure freedom of speech, but you are not free from the consequences of that speech…..and since you were talking about ‘good…

What you are falling to understand is women’s standard, for most women, do not revolve around money or looks, they revolve around behavior. And women are done putting up with ’bad’ behavior. Sure many would rather have a partner, but they aren’t willing to put up with bad behavior to achieve that. More and more women would rather be alone than the wrong person. Men are trying increase their odds with more swipes, instead of focusing on the content of their character. Woman, by and large are unbo…

Well I have only been retired for 2 (almost 3 years), so the data from there is fairly new. But, obviously with my sons and their friends it’s current. The basic tenet holds out…the good people date and have relationships, the not so good one’s Not so much. And take the ‘good‘ in perspective. One son has a friend, Mitch, who I have known since he was in kindergarten. I love the ‘kid’, currently 29, but he is a douche when it comes to woman. Ironically, he probably qualifies as a chad. 😂🤣 I literally gave you my real world view. Yes the sample size is small, but the results remain consistent. I am retired now, but could add in that I managed a team of about 45 men and 15 women and my observations consistent over 7 years. The people that were kind, articulate, funny, etc…ie good people…were the ones obtaining dates or in relationships. The not so ‘nice’ ones struggled to get dates, relationships didn’t last, had narratives to support why other’s were the problem. This wasn’t ge…

This is such a false narrative. Women are literally run analysis on men’s words rather than their looks and claimed financial status. They are looking for and want good men, their definition of ‘good guys’ likely varies from yours. You can check out the Burned Haystack Method. Truly eye popping revelations and tracking of problematic men outed using logic and analysis. Women are tired of the perpetual, But I am a good guy falsehood and are approaching dating thoughtfully, with logic and support.…

You couldn’t be more wrong. First did I ever use the word sacrifice; that’s your projection. I simply stated a statistically proven fact: mother’s careers suffer when they take time off to give birth. As for being a SAHP, yes parent, that is a decision made between both parents, hopefully with a lot of thought. When my first two sons were born, there was no question, we both had to work and did so. By the time my third son was born, I was making enough and his company offered unpaid sabbaticals.…

There are 2 sides to this and an equatable and fair way to enter a marriage and pragmatically plan if it should sadly fail. The honest truth is most prenups do not treat women fairly, which is why they are often voided. And also why there is such a visceral reason why woman balk and her family is upset. Some serious questions, that if haven’t been discussed and talked about is problematic. And if you haven’t thought fairly about these then you might think hard about why you haven’t. Are you goin…

I know this is going to be unpopular probably with both sides, but this has been my experience across multiple companies…and you did ask for our experiences. As an older women who has worked in male dominated spaces from a young age, but with some women, increasing through the years…women tend to be more empathetic to all suffering, and don’t really distinguish between men’s suffering/women’s suffering, but tend to take each situation and person individually. Men, by contrast, by and large are u…

Both my husband and I have been stay at home parents at different points. We both adamantly know that being a stay at home parent is far harder than any job either of us have ever had. That includes a high stress job I had where I worked 60-80 hours a week. He has some pretty labor intensive and hard jobs.

One would still need to prove fraud; as in never wanted children and lied about it. It’s hard to prove fraud vs change of heart. If the spouse testifies that they wanted children, but had since changed their mind….without proof to the contrary an annulment would be denied.

Although the rules vary slightly by state, they are substantially the same in that they require an element of ‘failure’ from the start…..as well as requiring residency in that state. Incest, mental capacity/ability to consent, or fraud are the basic requirements in all states. And yes, you would need co-operation from your spouse as you have to serve them and they have an opportunity to appear in court.

I am prepared to be downvoted to hell….but, in good faith I am going to answer this from my perspective (and my situation wasn’t/isn’t unique; I saw it my peers…both personal friends, and female work colleagues). I just retired from retail management. Not only am I older, but overweight, I wear a wedding ring (am married) and I got ‘hit on‘ almost every day, sometimes in vulgar fashion. I think being older and in a more authoritative role, I shut them down pretty quickly and easily. For my younger female associates it was much worse. I got called over to help defuse situations at least 10 times a week, for customers. I had two promising associates quit because they couldn’t take it anymore. For employees…

I think people forget that tact and empathy go a long way. All the way around. I (56F) do not appreciate negative comments to my choices in appearance…so I take care to not make them to others, male or female. I do not like facial hair in men. Ever. It is completely subjective and I am not sure why. A few years ago my hubby of 30 years decided to grow a beard. Now, I have spoken in abstract about my dislike of facial hair for years, but either he didn’t pay attention or care about my preferences…
