It isn't fair, and the government knows it. The real tricky part is that the child is the bigger victim here. It isn't the child's fault the mother lied. You can't just ignore that child support payments are meant for use in raising the child (yes, I know that doesn't really happen in most cases). So what's the alternative? The government could step in on payments until a state sponsored investigation can find and prove the real father's identity. That of course would raise taxes, which gets eve…

The founding fathers set up the system to allow 9 guilty men go to protect the one innocent. What we have now seems like the opposite. Hell, just the accusation of rape is enough to forever change a mans life these days, even if charges are never pressed.
