Thank you for this. Made me feel bad when reading it, but our importance indeed does not depend on a guy

I have so many “messages i’ll never send” in my notes on my phone. Sometimes i’ll even just write stuff on paper, burn it in a jar and look at the flames while meditating my anger/sadness out. Tried to have a proper conversation with my crush yesterday and it went nowhere. Made it pretty clear a paragraph would give me the same results: either no answer or a bullshit answer. So i’m moving on

Isn’t it weird we only know of two GIRLS he offered mentorship to, but not boys?

Recovering alcoholic here too! So glad i was already in recovery when i started dating my current love-interest. Combined with the wisdom of this sub, this whole dating-again after an abusive relationship is so so so much better. I’m more aware, don’t make stupid choices (blindly trusting intentions) and have completely lost the “need” to sleep around. I thought i liked one night stands, but also had the ridiculous rule that the first time you had sex with someone you needed to be drunk. I like …

We’re reading the recommended books from this sub too! Our own little Bad Bitches Book Club. I love it

I needed this, thank you. I’ve started checking up with a friend of mine about these behaviours. We call each other once a week, and it often goes like: Call 1: me explaining something about the guy i’m dating, her giving me good advice where i realise i’m being silly and using strategies picked up in a very abusive relationship. Mind is calm again for a few days Call 2: her explaining X, me repeating her advice to her (“remember what you told me last time? Same same, bibi”) We use so much info …

I am always confused when they call this sub the “female incel sub”, like... have they read the posts? The closest equivalent i can think of is Men Go Their Own Way, but without the abusive and misogynistic bullshit. I like the basic idea of MGTOW, where they don’t let their value depend on what women think of them, but they went full on abusive and just plain crazy about it. So yea, sucks to be them. I like your explanation, puts some light on something that would always make me go “where tf do…

I think - or how i interpreted it - this is about after a break-up or whatever. Its about not replying to texts. I dont think the OP is trying to tell us to give our boyfriends the silent treatment when being face-to-face. Also, do we have to let men have the upper hand then out of fear for their irrational aggression? You sound a bit ridiculous imo, but i might have misunderstood you

My asshole ex has been sending me a message every month for the past 3 months, almost like clockwork. I am so proud of myself for either not opening them, or not responding. I needed to read this today! Thank you!

I disagree. I have a brother and cousins who were raised by women and they are feminists. My brother and cousin are vocal about it. My sister and i even get compliments from my brother’s female friends that he turned out so respectful towards women. They do exist, but the women in their life might be the biggest influence of this; if you’re surrounded by strong women who would give up their lives for you, more difficult to see them as weaker.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
