Prenups are thrown out quite often, and not married in the first place is fine, but make sure you don't live with a woman either or depending on where you are the "common law spouse" thing kicks in and you are in pretty much the same boat as marriage. Over all it's a messed system. Alimony should just not exist or be limited to a reasonable amount for a short time period (2-3 years to get a place, get courses/education and get a job), or if the spouse is already working full time none at all.

I have literally had my own foot/she slip off the edge of the break, land on the gas and get wedged under the break while accelerating at full speed. but my main point is that requiring whoever would have paid alimony to help pay for a degree for the alimony receiver would be better than alimony. I 100% agree. Alimony should be provided for long enough for the reciever to get educated/skilled to reenter the workforce if their skills are not still current. No I never did. When I woke up I felt sick and my memory was spotty. Some of the details where filled in for me later which matched what I had remembered. And at the time I didn't really connect the dots to the word "rape" until later. I wasn't physically hurt, I barely remembered any of the actual sex so I wasn't as emotionally affected as much as someone who was aware or violently attacked. But I can tell you.
