False allegations make up 2-10% of rape cases and that's the ones we know of, so it's pretty safe to assume that we should give the victim the benefit of the doubt since they are most likely not lying but still investigate the case, also the identity of the accused should be hidden until a conviction because even if the charges are dropped you'll still have your life ruined
