[Link to full article in comments]I don't think it's as much forcing them to be like the parent as it is an assertion of her belief that coding will be as important of a skill as math or science in her daughter's world twenty years from now. It will certainly be more useful to her kids than having been forced to learn piano, and programming, like many linguistic languages, broadens your mind and teaches you to think in a new way.
