Was also married to a porn addict, it was a major contributor to the destruction of our relationship. So freaking happy to be free of that.

My ex was kicked out of MY room almost two years ago, yet his pic on OLD has my wallpaper in the background. Loser.

I’m not sure how that relates?

“For myself, the peace of mind of being single is worth more than constantly worrying about porn, so I guess the biggest take away is to learn to be self-sufficient so I never have to rely on someone who is statistically likely to be porn sick.” Oh so much THIS. The constant lying and subsequent worrying can ruin years of ones life. It’s the sweetest relief to be free of the sex-addicted ex.

No lie, I joking suggested my ex consider becoming a prostitute and he said, with a straight face, “but there’s no one around here I want to sleep with.” 🤯

Oh, thank you. That’s super useful. I think I am not ready to date, lol.

Can you elaborate on the scheduled contact? I like a lot of contact but I don’t think it’s serving me ...

When I was 15, I lost my virginity to a 25 yr old married man. If it happened to anyone else, I would KNOW they were groomed, but I struggle to name my experience that way. And it was only a couple months ago that it dawned on me that he was lying about his prior employment with [famous government spy agency]. The mental block I have there astounds me.

““There was a man, there was an older woman, there was a younger woman, a mom — a random group of individuals in the wrong place at the wrong time," Mossop said.” Wonder if it will be so “random” as more info comes out...

Check out The Gift Of Fear? It’s not about the location as much as it’s about listening to what your intuition about the situation.

1- porn addiction & infidelity, posted on DB as if I was the problem 2- did not bathe or brush his teeth, smelled of shit during sex, insisted I was a jerk for asking him to clean up 3- thinks parenting consists of jokes & watching TV together. 4- anger management issues 5- had no ambition whatsoever, for himself or the kids

I removed his picture altogether and put his full name, like the news would name a suspect.

I would interpret this as he wants to spend money on you. He’s using your term for it to mildly tease/convey understanding. Like maybe “You can judge it however you like, but I wanna do that thing you’re judging” But I’m newly recovering pick-me, so ...

In my experience, you can’t change them. You will waste years or decades and get PTSD from the betrayal trauma of being constantly deceived by a critical influence to your life. FDS would say you have better things to do, like study astronomy or paint your nails or read a book or see a movie or volunteer ... anything is better than being with someone who hurts you continually. You deserve better.

Similarly, “you’re the most challenging woman I’ve ever met.” God, I was so proud when he said that. I thought it meant he thought I was strong and confident and fierce. No, he meant “I’m not moved to expend effort engaging with you or your thoughts and feelings and experiences.” I know better now, though.

"You know what. Maybe nobody is the asshole. I want these things, you're not willing or able to give them, so let's stop making each other miserable and make a plan to go our separate ways." This is powerful truth.

Yeah, this is why the Cheap RV Living link is useful... they talk about builds for people on disability or facing homelessness for $3000, and the importance of having an emergency fund. There seems to be a large population of older women who’ve left the homemaking lifestyle behind to follow whatever they want to do. Which is not to say that FDSers must consider dating male vandwellers, but just to say that ... well, NAvandwellersALT, I guess. Oops, lol. Didn’t intend to be that person when I beg…

It’s not going to fit with a lot of FDS values, but I encourage anyone who is curious to check out Cheap RV Living & Creativity RV on YouTube for a better understanding.

Ha! Yes. One of my best friends is a therapist and she’s forever surprised at how messed up they can be.

Omg, yes. I was not expecting that. I understood what she meant about needing a ‘coherent history’ in order to continue, but I don’t know how she found one in that story.

“He is allowing me to doubt him, and I don’t want a man who will tolerate that. “ Ooooh, that is something that never occurred to me. It’s important to me that my special people don’t have reason to doubt ME— it never dawned on me that I could want that for myself... Thanks!

Oh oh! Do you have some good phrases for how to steer it? I feel like leaving him on read would be efficient for her, but ... I am soft-hearted and feel like if she ghosts there is no way he will ever figure out where he went wrong in that conversation. (Yes, I did spend decades trying to ‘help’ a man get a clue, does it show?)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/12/19 03:38 PM

Lol, I feel exactly what you’re saying! I think FDS would insist that YOU find them very attractive, not necessarily that their physical features be perfection. What is mandatory is that you feel sexually attracted to them, ‘cause you deserve to have awesome conversations and great sex.

I feel like maybe I need a Niles file of my own. Oh, yeah...

Yes!!! And the way he reacts when she ‘snoops’ in his files is dreamy — he’s extremely angry but also managed to convey understanding, he wants to talk about it, not punish her. LIKE A DAMNED GROWN-UP. So sexy!

Lilith!!! I confess I always found her so off-putting, but yes — I have found myself admiring her more this time. But what does it say that later-season Niles is my TV boyfriend?

That’s my favorite show, I’m watching it right now — and loving Martin showing his age more than ever. My perspective is way more FDS now and it’s blowing my mind a little. I forgot how far we’ve come.

It sounds as if you have discovered that ‘following women on Instagram’ is a boundary for you. It’s not what you want for yourself in a romantic relationship. Some people like nuts on a hot fudge sundae, some people don’t. And you did exactly what healthy committed people do with their boundaries — you told him about it. At which point he showed you that he doesn’t care about your boundary, and he thinks you’re wrong for having it, and you should change it. And he continued to do what he wants t…
