Sure - and how many of them did it to care for a family and not just themselves? On the contrary, how many men might have done the same if they hadn’t been banned from doing it? Probably less than 90% but a lot more than have now as the self preservation instinct is not specific to women. I’m all for criticizing the sexist laws, the sexist expectations, propagated by a sexist media and culture through some sexist individuals. Hey - I don’t know if you said this from personal experience, and I am sure there are cynical and opportunistic refugees. But there are also a lot who are just trying to make the best for themselves. I agree the disparity in treatment of men and women is total BS in the age of ‘equality’, but picture what you’d do in a family situation (or if you have direct experience this is addressed to those who don’t). 11	The HR lady, who proudly claimed that women are 50% of the personnel chose to ignore the elephants. I feel this as I used to work for a mining company - it was all about gender equality at the top and how to get more women into mining. 4	Sexism- It’s all men’s fault (U.K. advert) This ad also abstracts women out of human culture, as if they don’t have an effect on it. Why is a random non-sexist man more to blame than a random non-sexist women? Optimistically the downvotes might have come because I double commented by accident - have now deleted the duplicate. There might be a civil discussion to be had regarding the actual law if it was being properly represented. The article says the restriction relates to evidence “of a complainant's prior sexual activities” - which seems like it means not the one the trial is about. Let me know if you think I’m wrong but otherwise if you have the video you suggest it should be valid exculpatory evidence. I know there are a lot of examples of the system being unfair but let’s not psych ourselves out unnecessarily by imagining things to be worse than they are. 2	Let's not let this sub be anything like r/TwoXChromosomes. This is a great idea and this attitude is something to bear in mind for people on the other side of the coin we might interact with (by choice or otherwise). That is, when somebody makes a discriminatory post bashing all men (for instance), consider that they may be hurting and bring some compassion to any discussion you have with them, instead of knee jerk anger.
