This is a "Do as I say, not as I do" thing because I did get married, but I see this with such clarity now. A 30 year old man is entering his prime. A 30 year old woman is exiting hers. A society that acts the way ours does and then in turn pushes them both to delay marriage to 30 is doing him a favor and her a disservice. He's never been more valuable and she's a ticking clock. It's too late for me. I made my choice in life and have to work within those parameters now. But knowing what I know n…

Something about this doesn't track... She blocked the door to prevent him from leaving and he "pushed her away" which led to multiple bruises on her hand? I'm calling bullshit. Try to push someone and give them more than one bruise on the same body part. Her version of events is going to be the most favorable possible to her, and even in that version a single, "GTFO of my way, I'm leaving" push left her with more than one bruise, and it was on her hand? And then she took pictures?! And she's con…

Eh, I don't think it's crazy to rent if they got married 5 years ago at 28 and they live in a high COL area. That could reasonably still be in the, "We got a bigger apartment and started saving for down payment" phase. Plus, if she just got an out of state job offer, it's reasonable to think they were in the "climbing" stage of their careers where they were willing to move for opportunity which could mean moving to a new city every 2-5 years. I'll allow it.

At a fundamental level, how stupid is it for someone to see that they market isn't buying what they are selling, and to blame the buyer for not being interested? Sounds like a great way for your business/industry to fail.

Exactly. At some level it's just math: if every 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 woman believes she deserves an 8, 9, or 10 man, it's going to lead to a lot of disgruntled 5-7's treating men who are their equal with entitlement and contempt, or holding out for a ship that ain't coming. Guess what? Men noticed. The legal landscape of marriage is a nightmare for men, and the SMP is fucked, marriage or not. Add on to that, men and women are both delaying marriage, which leads to highly accomplished men learni…

You are 100% correct. Trump isn't going to un-hack a pipeline. Trump was supportive of nearly every stimulus plan. Trump was advocating low interest rates and got mad anytime a Fed chair even floated the idea of raising rates. Trump's tariffs raised prices on a number of goods. This isn't an anti-Trump post, this is just reality. No President is going to do something with economic policy in 3-4 months that will suddenly spike gas and food prices. The US economy is a massive ship, not a jet ski. …

This is ignorant. There's nothing that Biden did or that Trump would do differently in the last 4 months that made this happen. Labor markets are tight, the ongoing pandemic has pulled a TON of women out of the labor market to take care of kids which made that situation worse, there's foreclosure/eviction moratoriums constricting housing supply and insulating people from consequences of not paying their bills, a lot of people are content to collect UI in a pandemic whether it's UI, UI+300, UI+60…

Democrats seem to think the government should be fixing life's problems. They are the party that wants a rule to fix every problem, and a budget to spend on fixing every problem. Republicans think that if there are actually any problems that exist, they are either going to work themselves out or they are unsolvable, and usually favor doing nothing and hoping for the best.

I realize the downvotes will rain down on me for this, but this is horse shit. There aren't some better politicians coming to save you. Trump was a liar and a thief stealing from you as bad as any liberal will. Liberals use the proceeds to pay off the base, Trump used the proceeds to pay off his friends and family. We don't have a politician problem, we have a culture problem, and there wasn't anybody running for office recently who would have fixed that or who even really seems to understand th…

I always kind of hate, "imagine if it were reversed", but seriously...Imagine a man writing an article that says, "I'm single at 50 and it's all women's fault. They just can't handle how great I am." We would all (men and women) rightly say, "Dude, if you've been trying to get married for 30 years and couldn't find a single taker...that's a you problem." Which is exactly what I have to say here: If you aren't married at 50, and you've wanted to get married for all of your adult life, that's a yo…

Even in her version of events, which you would assume is the version that makes her look the best and him look the worst... ...she admits to striking him twice and offers that he never hit her, but that he made her feel unsafe based on his body language during their arguments. The most damning thing she says about him is that after she struck him for the 2nd time, he picked her up and put her on the bed and put a pillow between her and him, after which she said she "couldn't breathe". He immedia…

Married here, but I glean a lot of wisdom from MGTOW. It was a hard realization for me, but that one hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm married with two kids and have a reasonably good marriage overall, but it really changed my approach to life when I finally internalized that my wife likes me well enough, but what she loves is the boxes I am checking for her. She has cute kids, she got the motherhood checkbox, she got the big wedding checkbox, the house worthy of instagram checkbox, the husband w…

Not sure what else OP can do. Set a boundary, set a consequence, and then followed through. Relationship was already cooked. Her deciding to go clubbing without him looking for strange just confirmed it. Everything else is just noise.

Not with that attitude. Seriously though, why not? Good diet, workout like a maniac, pursue goals relentlessly, and be positive and exuberant in all of your interactions. You may not be the highest grossing actor of 2017, but you can be a popular, fun person to hang with in your sphere of influence. Hell, other than height, his "good looks" are primarily a function of being in shape, and at half-black/half-Samoan, he'd normally be fighting an uphill battle in Hollywood. There's no place for this…

I think you're right that the marketplace is fucked up beyond what a handful of guys can fix by liking fewer pictures on facebook. But the advice here is more about, "You aren't going to stand out by being another random guy commenting on a picture. If anything, you are begging to be put into the 'just another random guy' category by doing that." I mean, for example, I follow a number of pro athletes on social media. I don't ever send them DM's because why would I? I'm just admiring what they do…

Can't say off of just that. The guy is hustling some extra money, that's all we know from the Uber part of his story. I drive (not for pay) sometimes just to clear my head. I know some guys who drive Uber just to improve social skills. Some guys drive Uber on night 1 and use it as their drinking money on night 2. Plenty of reasons to drive for pay that aren't, "I got divorce-raped and Uber pays the alimony."

Not a lawyer, but I believe that this largely depends on whether or not the business was started while he was married and with common vs. separate funds. This may be different in community property states, which mine is not, but if you owned a business prior to getting married in my state she would (probably) not have a right to half of your shares, although she would have a right to come after your income as per usual, which is likely being paid to you from profits.

I can tell you that doing this was one of the smartest things I ever started doing to help me maintain frame, which is something I have at times struggled to build up as a skill. For the longest time, it seemed like we would get in these sporadic fights about the same old shit, and it would be something she would intentionally start via passive aggressive bullshit that seemed out of character and unpredictable. When she hits that mode, she has always been good at pushing my buttons. Now, I maint…
