Yeah these guys have definitely raped women. Jokes aren’t funny unless there is truth in them.

I assume he’s doing some 12-step program and this is an attempt to clear his guilty conscience. Also, trying to sleep with your rapist after the fact is a common thing that women do. I think it’s an attempt to rationalize the situation.

I think it’s about his jealousy and him being territorial over what he perceives as his. So many men feel like our bodies belong to them and that we are getting in the way of their access to us.

we all know that if he was getting her a spot and she agreed that he was adding value to their trip by going ahead nobody would have written prudence to complain. if you're doing a thing that bothers your partner, and your partner says "hey this bothers me" the correct response is to reach a compromise that both people are happy with, not complain online to get someone to cosign your bullshit so that you can go back and bully your partner with internet stranger's approval. but personally, I woul…

I didn't down vote you so I can't speak to any of that. But I think the phrasing of "marrying rich" vs building your own wealth. The phrasing implies that the riches belong to the person you are marrying, or that you are marrying into wealth. People of equal socioeconomic status don't say they're going to "marry rich" they just say they're getting married.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/06/21 04:14 PM

Hang out in the sub some more, there are a lot of good reasons to not “marry rich”. We strongly encourage women to have their own money and their own income. The most abusive man I dated was very wealthy, and I couldn’t afford to get away from him. I count myself extremely lucky that we didn’t have children together.

My grandmother was born before women got the right to vote. My mother was born before women were able to have their own bank accounts. Very little time has passed since women gained any autonomy, so don’t get discouraged when it feels like people are against you. Things are changing slowly but surely.

Of course he has time to date in grad school. He sees it as an investment- spend time upfront to find the right woman onto whom he can offload a ton of labor. What’s a few dates if he can get someone who will cook, clean and do his laundry. If he’s lucky she might also do some of his homework too

I clean my clients places when I pet-sit. I don’t go in their bedrooms and I don’t open anything I haven’t been explicitly told to open (closets, cabinets, doors). But I can’t sit in dirt while I’m at someone’s house. I hope I’m not bothering anyone by doing this, so far nobody has told me not to clean. I just assume that people enjoy a clean space so I mop and dust the spaces I’m occupying.

Men need to explicitly ask to be in a relationship with you. If they do not ask, you are single. No more trying to turn situationships into relationships. If he wanted to commit to you he would. No more moving things along yourself because you’ve grown impatient with him. If he can’t progress the relationship now, he’s not going to suddenly figure out how to do it later. Just be single.

I forget how far women will lower their standards for male validation. My roommate is dating a guy who’s never had a job, has claimed he’s graduating twice when he had in fact not finished his degree, has still not finished his degree, and does not want to seek mental health care because he says if he does get mental health care he won’t be allowed to have a gun. Even being anti-racist and listening to people who are disadvantaged by white supremacy doesnt make me not a racist. I still benefit from being white. It doesn’t really matter how I act or what I believe if white supremacy works to my benefit. Men who are out here trying to dismantle the patriarchy are still benefiting from the patriarchy. Society uplifts male voices that speak for women on women’s issues. They get credit for talking about the things we get attacked or bullied for talking about,…

Men who talk like this act like there’s no analogous situation for women. I’m a white woman, people talk about their fear of white women in spaces I participate in. Does it feel great? No. Do I recognize exactly why people don’t feel safe around white women? Absolutely. When people talk about their anger towards white women, I just leave them alone. Idk why men can’t do the same.

I think the main red flag with the boyfriend is his comment about how she would give up playing tennis to go meet his grandmother. Which is a really weird flex on the boyfriends part and makes it seem like he is interested in controlling her. Like why would a healthy boyfriend publicly post that he could get his girlfriend to give up something she is very talented at? Especially when he could just schedule a tone for her to meet his grandmother that doesn’t conflict with her schedule? And why is…

Maybe blaming the boyfriend? I’m not sure. From the outside it looks like a bunch of people pissed that talented black woman won’t be their dancing monkey. But I wouldn’t be surprised if her boyfriend is taking shots at her self-esteem behind the scenes.

She’s been struggling with her mental health and refused to do interviews. The people in charge of the tournament fined her and threatened to kick her out so she withdrew.

She came out and said she has been dealing with depression. I just feel so bad for her. It really seems like she just wants to play tennis and be left alone. She said herself that she doesn’t have strong social skills and she finds the attention overwhelming. She seems so vulnerable to me and I a think we should be more supportive of her instead of so critical. She said she struggles with her mental health and the decisions she’s made are in-line with that explanation.

It’s so creepy. I rewatch old TV shows from childhood sometimes and especially the live action Nick shows like I Carly and zoey101 show the characters crushing on older guys like it’s cool. I refer to women as women, and female children as girls. I catch myself correcting people who use them incorrectly. Like if someone says young woman, I’ll be like “oh you mean that child?”. If someone is irritating me I refer to them as “bruh”, because men are irritating.

I went out with a guy once who mocked me when he found out what I was studying. He had an entry level job in the same field, and I had commented that I was proud of how well I am doing in school. Basically he repeated what I said in a high pitched song-song tone. Unfortunately this is the realistic outcome for a lot of us when we make the decision to stand up for ourselves and other women. OP could move or get a new hobby, but why should she have to? Why is this rapey man allowed continued access to other women and the support of his male peers?

I think OP meant the the rapist guy is turning people in their group against her by saying that if OP wants to spend time with him she can pay for it. Girl, go to your bank today and open a new account for yourself. Start depositing your money into it instead of your shared account. Over the next few weeks start going through your stuff konmari style. If it’s garbage, throw it out, if it’s useful to someone but dead weight to you donate it. You’re right. People who think they would turn down “tainted money” haven’t had a life changing amount of money to turn down. People receive emotionally charged money all the time - usually because someone they loved died, but also in settlements and from other places. I got a lot of money from an abusive ex’s family. I think the ex would have to request a reversal of the money. If it is legitimately a cashier’s check, the money has already been removed from his account and is being held by the bank until someone deposits it. OP could probably look at the issuing bank and go there to verify that the check is in fact legitimate before cashing.

Idk if this is true. My snap score is 25k, I’m a millennial. My friends and I send each other videos of pets and babies, or just take a video instead of typing stuff out. None of us use snap stories or anything. But I do snap wholesome things to my longterm friends everyday instead of texting them.

I use snap as a texting substitute. My friends send me clips of their babies or pets, or sometimes recording a quick video is easier than typing something out. It’s all ego. They shame you for being frigid, or vanilla because they know what they’re doing is bad for them. Notice how nobody pushes their normal hobbies onto other people. It’s only when behavior is destructive that people try to bully you into joining them.

This morning I saw a post where a guy was mad that his girlfriend defended her friend’s cheating. Most of the comments were guys screeching about how the girlfriend probably cheats too and he should dump her. The “cheating” sounded a lot like a rape.

Right. I’m 30 and doing an undergrad program. The late-teen early twenties students are always so confused when they find out how old I am. Just drink water, eat vegetables and stay away from men. The only difference between 20 and 30 is how well you take care of yourself.

It seems like you posted this because you want some reassurance about this guy. I’ve had bad luck with men in the past, and now I learned that whenever I’m infatuated with someone it’s because they have a lot of the toxic traits I grew up around. It’s comfortable and familiar to me. Now I know that if I really like somebody it’s better to stay away and focus on connections that develop slowly. You mention that he’s older. But 10 years is a lot. There is a reason he doesn’t have a partner his own…

Obviously whoever wrote this is interested isn't critiquing FDS in good faith. I think it's strange that VICE is pro-kink and pro-poly, but apparently doesn't understand the basic concept of consent. We don't have to date anyone we don't want to date. It's not hateful to reject a person as a romantic/sexual partner for any reason. Gross men are not a legally protected class of people and we definitely don't owe them anything.

So it’s a racket. “Give us sex workers to be violent towards or were going to be even more violent to all of you” Maybe we should let everyone in jail for non-violent drug offenses go home and replace them with men who thinks it’s acceptable to demand sex and threaten us with violence.

moo milk smells weird anyway. I learned to cook when I stopped eating animal products. The cool thing is that most of us just like the way meat is seasoned and don't actually care that much about the flavor. Plus if you mess up cooking plants, you aren't going to get ecoli or salmonella, so there is a huge margin of error for creating a decent meal. I think of it like this: A relationship is a negotiation between two people. You do not owe anyone your time, money, or body. Nobody owes you their time, money, or body. You are allowed to decide who you want to be in a relationship with and what the terms of that relationship are. If you want to be in a relationship with someone who treats you well, then you expect it up front and reject anyone who doesn’t. If someone doesn’t like your standards and expectations then they can find someone who w…

The “strategy” is learning to love yourself enough that being single feels good. Once you’re confident in yourself, anything less that what you deserve isn’t worth your time. Pre-FDS when men wanted to have sex with us or be our boyfriends, we jumped at the chance because being alone is scary and we didn’t know when someone else would come along. The problem with blocking him is that some states have laws preventing harassment, but you can only use those laws to get a restraining order if you document the texts. I went through this last year and the lawyer I spoke to said that I hurt my case by blocking the guy because documenting repeated attempts to contact me would have been enough for a restraining order.

I really am sorry that you're going through this, it sucks to lose a friend. I think it's a pretty common experience around here that we all lose some friends as we work on ourselves. There's that saying that the people who get angriest once we learn to assert boundaries are the ones who benefited most from us not having any. I think a lot of people also feel weird when they see someone doing better for themselves because it's a hit to their ego. I'm almost 30 now, and I remember going through m…

My favorite compliments were meant as insults. I was having a conversation with someone about how someone else needed to be accountable for their choices. The person I was talking to said “you don’t understand what it’s like, every time life punches you in the face you get back up like it didn’t hurt”. I still don’t understand how that justifies someone’s poor behavior but it made me feel good. Another time this woman was like trying to push her alcoholic son on me and I wasn’t having it. She lo…

I’m disappointed in the women here saying OP’s friend chose to walk away and commenting “the trash took itself out”. Isolating a young woman from her friends is step one of an abusive relationship. She’s already isolated because of the pandemic, people are afraid, and stressed out. This guy lives next door and has nothing but time to mess with this young woman’s head. OP’s friend has all the same social programming that we’re trying to break free from. OP’s friend didn’t make a meaningful choice…

The way your "friends" treat other people is the way they will eventually treat you. Does your friend have other friends? Long-term friendships? Are they possessive of their friends? If your friend wont introduce you to her other friends, or acts jealous if you all hang out together that's a huge red flag. Does your friend talk shit about other people? Local man wonders how long he has to call himself a feminist before women will agree to fuck him.

If your boyfriend is picking up extra shifts at work and blowing you off to do it he: Isn't making enough money or he's terrible at managing the money he is making. Dump him. Has no boundaries, does not respect himself enough to set boundaries and will not respect yours. Dump him. Does not value your time or the time he gets to spend with you. Dump him. or 4. Is fucking somebody else. DUMP HIM!

Men tell you who they want to be and show you who they are. This guy keeps telling you that he's "relaxed", but he's showing you that he's annoying.

"going out with his coworkers" = going out with exactly one co-worker and then assaulting his fiance to avoid being caught in a lie.

Most people will show you who they are and tell you who they want you to believe they are. Ignore what people say to you and watch what they do. Artsy guys are better at performing but their behavior is inconsistent and they can't keep it up for long.

Men in general lack the ability to be emotionally serious. The artsy types have a certain performative emotional quality to them, but it ends up being exactly like what you described. The truth is that the vast majority of men are shit, it doesn't matter what flavor of shit they are, it's all gross. If you want to be with another creative, look for one who has some level of success in his field. Is he running his own creative business or is he just whining and painting in his dirty studio apartm…

women need to stop treating their sons like this too. Hold men accountable when they're children so they don't grow into entitled, incompetent men.

Men are guilty until proven innocent. Any man with a "sense of humor" that includes being violent towards women isn't humorous, he's dangerous.

I'm someone who has to work at maintaining my own emotional and mental health and I think this is really good advice. I wouldn't date someone who had symptoms of a mental illness because more often than not people use mental illness as an excuse to avoid their lives and treat people like shit.

As far as I'm concerned, if I'm not married then I'm single. This guy is a douche, but it is a good reminder not to get attached to men who haven't explicitly committed to you and consistently shown you that they care.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
