This is where I am stuck with regards to my identity and principles. I am very worried that, if I eventually decide to become a good person, my moral identity will shoot me in the foot when others inevitably take advantage of it, and that it won't be balanced out from the outside because society sees men as disposable. Really have no idea what to do here.

I can be wrong but I think the presumption of innocence is an excellent ideal to strive for both in the legal and moral realm. For the moment, all we know is that he has been done a great injustice. We don't know if he is an asshole, and have no right to assume so. Therefore it's not a bad thing to side with him in this case, no matter how inconsequential it is.

Its pronunciation has the French touch to it so that you may sound classy.

It's never been about equality. It's about power and making yourself feel better by thinking that others feel shit about being 'better off'. Pretty sure most people don't feel like that.

Getting robbed is pretty scary, and a really shitty experience. You don't know if they will kill you or not (very common here, > 50 people killed every day) and you enter an entire different state of being. Your mortality suddenly becomes very real.

I don't think anyone's opinion counts. It's all superficial.

Only to make an example so that others don't try it as well. Then yes. Perfectly justified.

That's only the legal aspect of it, not the moral. If they were married then in all likelihood she'd probably not be deserving to it, as opposed to legally entitled. But I could be wrong about that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
