I’ve never seen it. Just figured it fit OPs description on how I’ve seen it marketed.

I had no idea the Daily Show was still airing.

Women in peril has been a horror film trope for as long as I can remember. That’s where the term “Final Girl” comes from.

I don’t find it all that outrageous. Some of the funniest characters in the history of sitcoms have been these types of men - I’m thinking of Hal (Brian Cranston) from Malcolm In the Middle or Phil from Modern Family. Both arguably the funniest on each of those shows.

The narrative can be however you interpret it.

Everyone could use a bit more empathy. Men and women. I think one could just look at Superman in that way, and not focus on gender as much.

But there was a film about this subject matter as well.

You could make the argument that a movie like “Ingrid Goes West” is a commentary on a woman’s addiction to social media/internet fame which leads to murder. Also the film “we’re all going to the worlds fair” features a female protagonist consumed by the internet and leads to her isolation. Just bc we have a series telling one story doesn’t mean we can’t have stories that feature another gender that fall along the same themes. Has anyone here watched the series? I’ve heard it’s actually good and …

I don’t think it’s really fair to lump everyone in the same group. Have I found certain women in my life exhausting to be around? Well, sure. But then I’ve had plenty who i didn’t feel that way about as well. I think i could say the same for some men in my life as well, but for different reasons. With the women who I’ve ended things with it did pertain to the attributes to which many on here describe: Overly judgmental, catty, irrational and super emotional.. It’s hard to be around someone who y…

I think this article will get a lot of backlash bc Swoll has a really strong influence in the gym community, and there are plenty of women who support him, as he does call out both genders. However, I do think he does have a lot of really shitty followers, and bc of his strong influence, he creates a very vicious mob to go after the person in his vids which I don’t think is always appropriate or helpful.

I believe Pretty people in general are treated better, regardless of gender. Pretty privilege is very real.

People, please try to grasp the difference between a pedophile and having sex with a minor. There is a huge difference.

Agree. Yea not sure where they’re getting the “force” part from. Also, I’ve actually enjoyed “courting” a woman before - Though I’d never really think to use that term, which seems rather dated.

I’m not sure why this is downvoted. I really agree with you. Instead of letting this just fester in your head go to counseling together and see if this is something you can work through. If anything, do it for your child’s sake.

I agree with you wholeheartedly . I feel like Reddit is maybe the worst place to go to for romantic/dating advice. When I see someone post a question in a sub here that requires much nuance, I’m dreading going to the comments. I also think that many people (myself included ) forget that Redditors don’t really have an age per se. So when people pose a question they may get a response from a 40year old and in the next one down it’s a response from someone that’s 13. Yet we will never really know, …

I think that idea of actively trying to be better in your pursuits every year is admirable but also not sustainable. We age. We decline. Shit happens. There comes a point where it’s not physically or mentally even possible to be better. So there has to be some room in there for acceptance of ourselves as we are.

Having thoughts doesn’t make one actively suicidal. There is a difference between suicidal ideation and actually being suicidal. I think when a therapist asks that question and they get a yes answer they will probe deeper to find out how active a threat one is to themselves. Of course both should be taken seriously, but there is a difference and I don’t think it’s just semantics.

Totally agree. The guy in that vid was an asshole. The placement of the dumbbell was so egregious Im almost inclined to believe this was staged.

Holy shit you guys want her to be a sexual predator so sooo fucking bad. Even when her sister says otherwise you still want it to be true bc you hate Dunham so much. But yeah, you know better than the sister, of course. You should write her and tell her how she should feel after all these years. I’m sure she’d promptly tell you to fuck right off. But yea, you know better, right?

Uhhh Lena Dunham was 7 years old when this incident occurred. But yeah, keep lying to yourself so you can stay righteous brother! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2014/11/8/7157065/dunham-child-abuse

You’re so fucking backward. Let’s ask Lena Dunham’s sister if her sister raped her. What do you think she’s going to say, dude? I guess she’s a “Rape Apologist” too, huh?

Yes, And How did I know this would be the first comment. You fuckers are so bent out of shape about that shit still. Lol. You care more than her grown sister and her entire family. You know why? Because it was fucking kid shit. They know it, and I think you do too, but you gotta hold onto that shit real tight.

Question for Reddit: I sincerely mean no disrespect, just curious. The cop here seems like he’s out of line to me and overly brutal once the situation escalated. But also, at the beginning of the vid, you can see the kid fighting off the cop and refusing to be arrested. Why not just comply and allow yourself to be handcuffed rather than potentially escalate the situation. Is it out of fear? I’ve never been in a situation Iike this, but I think if a cop had me up against a wall I would comply to …
