North Carolina had a law that passed the house but stalled in the Senate that would make the driver of a vehicle not liable for injury to protesters who blocked the streets provided the driver practiced “due diligence” to avoid injuring people when passing through protesters blocking traffic. In short, it allowed drivers to slowly force their way through protesters doing a roadblock. The bill was introduced after the Charlotte riots when protesters stopped traffic on the interstate and IIRC even…

Until she has a creditable accuser come forward saying she raped him, then it was just ramblings. She deserves the benefit of the doubt, even when she says stupid shit.

Until she makes a statement under oath it's meaningless. We've all made distasteful and/or disgusting jokes or statements. If I say I fucked Emma Watson it doesn't make it true. Riley Reid is an idiot with a few screws lose. It's well known. This is just another disgusting statement by someone with mental health issues as far as I'm concerned.

Good luck saying that out loud. The feminists would be calling for your head before lunch.

No there's not. I've been a Kavanaugh supporter from day one. But let's not get carried away. There is zero evidence of her raping a guy just like there is zero evidence of Kavanaugh raping someone.

reduce income inequality How does one do that? We are currently in a time period where everyone is equal and everyone, regardless of race, sex, creed, or religion have an equal opportunity to be as successful as they desire. provide better social safety nets So waste money letting people live off the system? Do you think that would help or hurt minorities? Look at section 8 housing, food stamps, disability, unemployment, etc. There is no incentive to get off those systems once you're on them. In…

Are you saying that if we get rid of all the private prisons in America (again, only 8-10% of all US prisons) we will see a reduction in the number of people incarcerated? To levels that will be "practically empty"?
/r/MensRights19/11/17 06:20 PM

Again, how does that increase incarceration rates?

privitized prison system Only 8%-10% of prisons in the US are private. I fail to see how that would lead to more incarceration.

It was already banned by the Brown v Board of Education ruling. However, many states refused to abide by the ruling. So much so that the Alabama National Guard had to be federalized by Kennedy and sent to the University of Alabama to force desegregation. The problem was in many states, the judges are elected, which was a particular problem in the south where there was strong resentment to having blacks in white schools. Judges would often rule against the federal laws and say the civil rights la…

Yes, it provided incentives to universities and government agencies to hire/enroll minorities. Before Affirmative Action, many places just refused to employ or educate minorities.

I think in the 60's and 70's it was a necessity, especially in the southern states where discrimination was pretty common. Now days though, it is very outdated. If I remember correctly, the case before the Supreme Court is arguing just that. I believe the plaintiffs are arguing that Affirmative Action is no longer needed and that it now results in legal discrimination.

Isn't there a case before the Supreme Court right now about affirmative action?

So you're saying because of immoral banking we should tank our economy? You wouldn't be on Reddit right now if that happened. You wouldn't even be in a house, you'd be homeless, jobless, scrounging through anything you can find for a small bit of food.

You've never been in a courtroom have you? The only thing behind criminal defense, and the only thing is the law. There is no "is this acceptable" it's "I have to make a member of the jury have a reasonable doubt that no crime was committed". As far as your "justified" statement, I have no clue what you're talking about. Rape would never be justified.

There is no way to really avoid that unfortunately. It is the society we live in. You pretty much have to let the court of public opinion decide what you are and what you did, then try to clear your name in civil court by suing the person who alleged the false rape allegations. The ONLY way to prevent the court of public opinion would be through state public records law changes. It would have to be done at a state level since the Freedom of Information Act (the only federal law about disclosure …

You don't have to prove whatever happened next wasn't rape, the prosecutor has to prove beyond a resonable doubt to all the juriors that what happened next was rape. It's called innocent until proven guilty. Not valid for non-criminal cases on college campuses

To be fair there is more at play than traditions. Prostitution poses a potential tax problem. It is hard to tax prostitution revenue outside of permits. Prostitution would be a nightmare to tax with the current tax system. After the US has a tax overhaul it will make prostitution easier to legalize from a tax prospective.

I can understand where they are coming from. It is extremely difficult if not impossible in a modern society to be able to get away from a computer. You're right in the sense that it can be turned off, but eventually a modern society sorta forces you back onto it to do things. That being said, they could block the "abuser" or file a police report and have the person arrested. There are plenty of places with cyber-stalking and cyber-bullying laws on the books. Both of which are generally taken ve…

Older doctors will tell you that your kid will have measles, or that a little redness (which is totally normal) is a sign of an infection. they'll try to tell you the kid has a vulnerability to measles and needs to be vaccinated. Aside from medical scare tactics, they'll tell you it's hard to keep the measles away, that they'll be made fun of, that they won't develop Autism, etc. See how stupid this sounds when you substitute the "foreskin" argument with the anti-vaxx movement? "Well I didn't va…

Well if the defense already has proof of these messages like they claim there is no reason to get a subpoena. They could easily just log into his Facebook on his behalf and screenshot the messages if they have to. EDIT: besides I was responding to OP saying that everyone should see the messages. No the only thing you have a right to see is the trial. The defense and prosecution are the only people that have a right to see evidence before a trial. Once the trial starts the evidence becomes public…

Tell that to lawyers that would represent Facebook when they get sued for failing to fulfil the privacy agreement of every user. Facebook is a company and shouldn't have to release private messages so that people will feel better about something has has nothing to do with them other than the server containing the messages. Edit: If the defense already has the messages or parts of messages that show his innocence as they claim, they will present them at trial. You'll see them, just calm your tits…

Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat. Women often have to flee from the only homes they have ever known. Women are often the refugees from conflict and sometimes, more frequently in today’s warfare, victims. Women are often left with the responsibility, alone, of raising the children. But we all know what is going to follow. A lawsuit for putting women in "extreme physical and mental danger". It is only a matter of time before a woman uses her boobs to play the victim card and say she was put in extraordinary mental stress by her male command structure.
