Why does it matter? It's similar to that of Bodybuilding competitions where there are "Clean" and "non-Clean" events. They don't compete together because they are different scenarios, but you can't argue that they're not both competitive.

What sort of message is that sending to the wider population? I think there probably is empirical data to go with this subject, I imagine there have been many sociological dissertations done on this subject. But at the end I do see your point. I still believe myself though that it is wrong to charge different prices on gender and to refuse entry on gender. But that is a personal opinion and I am not looking at what business advantages or disadvantages it might have at this time.

The point still stands that one gender is at a disadvantage. You can't argue that just because they're making money off of it that it is the correct and right thing. Which in the grand scheme of things is illegal in most western countries.

I asked the question to my girlfriend what she thought of it, and she raised the point that not only is it discriminating against men but it also raises the question of how these sorts of promotions objectify women.

You call it reality, but I have never seen a credible piece of research to back this up. Care to share any or is this purely from your personal experience? I don't mind being called out if there is actually some evidence to back up what you said about groups of men spending less money or creating more trouble. In my experience I would think groups of men spend more on trying to out drink each other, but that's also only anecdotal.

I personally have never heard the words Dike and Tom boy together, but as you said. Words are used differently all over the world so that could just be it. I still feel that the word metrosexual shouldn't be taken offensively and doesn't really restrict anyone. It is not so widely used, I have only ever heard it used by those who have some sort of sociological understanding, and from experience most of those people are a bit more understanding that people are different and accept that.

guys are called metrosexuals in the same way that girls are called tom boys, I don't think it's meant in an offensive and restricting way. I happily admit I am a metrosexual male, this does not change the way people look at me and I do not think it adds much aid to your point.
