Women aren’t attracted to physical attributes. They become attracted to men based on their personality. The solution: find a woman you find physically attractive and then spend time with her until she finds you attractive or you get turned off by her personality.

I think my disagreement hinges upon the fact that I define “successful” as having a stable, loving, and trusting relationship based on mutual attraction and respect.

All true, but needs the following nuance: desire doesn’t work the same way between the sexes. Men usually desire based on looks and women usually desire based on personality. This means women who would or could desire you often won’t until after they learn who you are as a person, which means at the beginning you’re going to be pursuing and interacting with someone who doesn’t display all of these characteristics yet. Physical attractiveness can help get past these early stages, sure, but it’s u…

Huh. I hung out with a mixed girl for a while and my impression was that “lightskin” guys had more social value for some reason

Your error is that you are creating categories for things that are on a continuum.

You have to be really fucking competent to prosper with no social skills. Like so in-demand that companies want to pay you a ton of money for your skills despite how much of an asshole you are, and you find the work so fulfilling that you don’t care that everyone hates you. If you don’t care about having social skills, why do you care about women? If you want to have sex just pay for it. If you want a relationship you need social skills. If you want to be happy as a human animal that interacts w…

I think OP is assuming that short women will be descended from short males. I’m not sure this is correct. Women on average are shorter than men on average, so short women being descended from tall males (or vice versa) should be relatively common.

Novelty. Sex without the difficulty of finding someone you want a real relationship with, or the compromise of being in a relationship with someone you don’t have feelings for. The downsides you list are mostly applicable to doing a random draw of all of the people in the world for a sex partner; in practice we all have filters and heuristics which reduce those downsides probabilistically.

The larger point is that Musk and Bezos (and Bilzerian) get dragged every day on social media, but they don’t care.

Ma is a bit of a strange case right now since the CCP has forced him out of the spotlight, but prior to that he was extremely active in advocating for his company as a public good. He toured worldwide to basically tell the business world how to behave. I think he had some good ideas, but he really isn’t that smart, and more importantly I would guess has some personal insecurities about coming up from the underclass, so his advocacy is also a desire for acceptance. He has no IDGAF energy, so when…

I think you’ve just managed to discover something called Not Giving a Fuck. Jack Ma wants to be loved by everyone so he gives a fuck.

Following my other comment, this assumes that you both already have a stable relationship with one another, you already like who you each are as an individual, and you seek to improve yourself as a gift to the other person. If that’s not the case, then your first order should be to improve your relationship with yourself so you can be happy with who you are as an individual. If your partner doesn’t like who that person is and vice versa, then you are almost certainly not a good match for each ot…

Effectively yes. If you think your man is the alpha chad, the work you do on yourself should be to make him happy. NOT to make yourself be what you think the rest of society values in a woman. Maybe if he dislikes the 666 nomenclature, you could start by giving that a rest.

Don’t women rank amongst themselves based on their partners? A woman thinks she’s above another woman when her man is higher value than the other woman’s man.

Everybody’s fucking different. You can say that across all men, or maybe more realistically across men in western culture, on average they might prefer a “000” woman, but it’s a HUGE stretch to say that people’s preferences in others vary in correlation their own attributes. The 666 males are most likely going to have the same average preferences as all other males. Assuming men do on average prefer a 000, then sure that does mean the 666 men prefer the same (on average), but that doesn’t mean t…

*bald-faced lie Also *discreetly If you’re gonna make these kinds of arguments, you would do well to show you’re reasonably well-read and not just talking out your ass.

Much of this is accurate, but I believe the life expectancy issue should be reconsidered. This may actually fall into the same category as other metrics where equal opportunity does not yield equal outcomes. The way to discover this is to do studies cross-culturally, and remove variables that would indicate a cultural influence, so that you are only left with the statistics of our human biology. What I mean specifically here is that it may actually be the case that women are biologically predisp…

I learned the term from the “Four Hour Workweek” guy in relation to language learning and economic efficiency. TRP just borrowed it because it’s a useful concept that also confirms their biases.

Both genders want traditionalism when it benefits them, but also modernity when it benefits them as well. Yes! But your premise is that it is impossible for these states to coexist. You are correctly pointing out that there are plenty of specific examples where the two gendered desires can be in conflict with one another, but within any one category, a compatible couple is going to figure out a balance that works for them. For example, I enjoy paying when I ask someone out on a date, because I p…

Find a man who knows what he wants and is honest about it. If the guy breaks it off, you’re actually achieving your goal since you are no longer investing in a relationship that is not headed where you want it to. Beyond that; maybe think about your life goals not in terms of things you want to have (husband, house, kids, etc.) but in terms of how you want to live your life and what you want to do for the world (being happy, living with integrity, being part of a community, caring for others, cr…

Not sure if this is a strict counterexample or just some nuance, but speaking as the quiet nerdy type who didn’t have enough self-esteem to pursue the opposite sex until years after college, and furthermore did in fact have a “glow-up” phase going into his 30s, I don’t feel any contempt for women my own age because it’s obvious to me that my sexual frustration in my younger years was entirely a problem with my own mindset. I don’t have a preference for younger women based solely on age, but I do…

The Overton window is shifting on this as we speak. Moral relativism is winning; only a matter of time until this isn’t seen by the average person as something scandalous.

Of course it is. Your autonomy is in creating your menu and setting prices, which you can do at any time. How would this be any different from running a lemonade stand? Are you giving up personal autonomy because you “have to” make a lemonade for a person if they pay you?

https://stopsesta.org I don’t see anything to suggest Harris was any kind of author of the bill. She was one of 70 co-sponsors, which doesn’t mean anything more than she supported passing it TBF.

You’ve got it backwards. Being able to speak the language of hints and signs is a sign of maturity. If you aren’t good at it yet, it’s something you need to work on. This reminded me of a talk by Steven Pinker that I was watching a few weeks ago. You might find it useful. I’ve timestamped the section on innuendo and euphemism, but the rest of the talk is about related concepts of social psychology, cooperation, and game theory. https://youtu.be/eay1-m7RpoU?t=13m27s

My interpretation of that debate was that they couldn’t really find anything of substance to disagree on! I didn’t think either “wiped the floor with” the other.
