This isn’t meant to be a complaint about women as a whole. I meant that comments like “lucky kid” are made by men and comments like “the kid abused the teacher” by and large are made by women. You have your numbers right per government sources (National Crime Victimization Survey) but I don’t think you’re getting the right idea. We should not be saying “black people make up 50% if violent crime” because that implies all black people commit crimes. A better way to say it would be “50% of violent crimes are committed by black people.” It’s a little more correct and doesn’t imply anything it shouldn’t. Also a factor people tend to forget is the role systemic racism plays in these numbers…

The military is mostly male because only men need to sign up for the draft and the military markets to men. Women are more likely to join STEM fields which colleges love (and grant them scholarships for.) Much of the military is people that aren’t college-educated or are getting their degree through the military. It’s all intertwined.
