They're all saying to say no. What are you fucking retarded? Sounds like easy street to me. You are clearly lucky enough to be so good looking that women just throw themselves at you. You poor baby.

But what about those of us whose low self-esteem is entirely warranted and not irrational? Those of us who are boring, hopelessly ugly, awkward, unfunny, overweight, unsightly, odd or lanky? In my opinion, acting like those facts are untrue would be completely dishonest. Acceptance is the best path; fake self-esteem when you are the kind of person I am is a lie.

I have a very similar problem (http://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/kezin/operating_outside_of_my_comfort_zone_oneitis/). I tend to over-think every situation, instantly taking each option to its logical conclusion and finding the worst possible way for every scenario to end up, then assuming that that is the most likely conclusion. I acknowledge my problem and I am trying to deal with it. But as someone who experiences this over-thinking, I gotta tell you, it's a vicious cycle.

Thanks for the kind words. I believe that my incessant self-loathing comes from two psychological issues: my compulsive need to not appear arrogant. I don't know exactly the genesis to that hang-up, but that was a huge problem for me in college being a musician. That kinda ties in with my second issue, which is my inability to accept compliments; whenever anyone says anything nice or complimentary about me, my immediate, impulsive reaction is contradictory. Inversely, I find myself being incredi…

I really appreciate your concern. I don't really see that anything I am saying indicate that I have "issues" -- I mean, people all over Reddit make Forever Alone jokes all the time. I'm the forever alone guy, I just don't pretend that I'm something I'm not, you know? But now I have this situation come up and I don't know how to deal with it, and you guys are helping.

No no no I'm just trying to help you guys understand my train of thought. I have to deal with this shit in my head constantly. Every contradiction for the sake of logic. It's a miracle I haven't suffered a significant mental episode yet.

That guy seems like a real asshole. But he is that all-too-familiar type of person that will always be more desirable and happy and liked and celebrated than me. This fact, among others, will eventually make me swallow a hand full of sleeping pills.
/r/seduction14/09/11 06:55 AM
1

Really? I appreciate your help, but this is not possible. This is exactly the opposite of what her words seem to indicate, right? And even if it were true I wouldn't do it because it wouldn't be any good for her and then she'll hate me and tell all our co-workers that the sex was bad and she'll never talk to me again and my condition where I overthink shit - like this - will get worse and worse. You dig? Trust me. No one wants to, as you so eloquently describe it, "bone" me.
/r/seduction14/09/11 06:48 AM
1

Thanks. But can you qualify this kino comment? Yes, I read the sidebar, and to my understanding, this refers to laying your hands on a woman, without invitation, in a quasi-sexual way. How is this a good thing?
/r/seduction14/09/11 06:44 AM
1

But I probably will offend, because she told me she doesn't date co-workers. That's her saying, nicely, that she is not interested at all. THEN WHY THE FUCK is she still coming over to my house so she and I can eat and watch a film together, by ourselves? It boggles the mind! Maybe she's waiting for me to make a move just so she can have an excuse to knee me in the balls. That possibility is as likely as any at this point, this situation is fucking crazy.
/r/seduction14/09/11 06:38 AM

That is a matter of pure opinion. No woman wants to be with an ugly man. You are technically correct. I can't stress enough that it is terribly difficult for me to pretend to be an intelligent, interesting person. Being myself is not an option if I would prefer to not wind up offing myself by putting a shotgun in my mouth at age thirty-three as a result of my crippling, catastrophic loneliness. I have said no to sex more times in my life than I have actually had sex, no exaggerations, (Ahh, coll…

I appreciate everyone's help here, and I am entirely serious when I say - that this does not make sense to me. It's not joking, to me, to just smoke up to some girl and say you want to "fuck" her. To the extent of my understanding, that is sexual harassment and is socially unacceptable. This girl must have been pretty slutty, or you must be a great looking person, or some combination thereof. I have watched people flirt, many of them were my "friends" at one point or another. It's mind-boggling.…

Not a troll, honest. And from what I've seen this subreddit is populated heavily by alpha male types, who can at times be very cruel to those of us who are not alpha. It's that whole alpha dog dominance thing, and it's not a bad thing: it's just nature. But I'm sure you guys will help me, if you don't mind. Your TL;DR says that she is 'totally into [me].' How do you know? With what evidence do you support this conclusion? I need to know what I need to keep doing, and what I need to stop.
/r/seduction14/09/11 04:41 AM

If I act like I'm awesome when I am clearly not, how is this not arrogance? This seems to be the dissonance that I cannot rationalize in any way no matter how I look at it. How do you guys find a place of self-image that isn't arrogant? I just can't understand it. EDIT = you say I'm doing everything in my power to ensure that she friendzones me. Can you be specific about what I am doing that would cause this? What can I do instead?
/r/seduction14/09/11 04:28 AM
1

Neg her? What is this? "Take control of the situation and disqualify yourself as a potential suitor before you get friend-zoned." Why would I want to disqualify myself? I don't get this.

You need, need to have a great body or it's all for nothing, that is the sad truth. You want to be funny? That helps, sure. Not a hottie, though? You are Benny Hill, and women don't want to fuck you.

If you aren't good looking and alpha, it doesn't matter anyway. Show me a woman who wastes time talking to a fellow beta boy and I'll show you a woman with low self-esteem

I'm just being honest. My compulsive honesty is what makes me seem to have this negative attitude, when in reality I am stating the objective facts of 'I am ugly, fat, etc..' Is dishonesty built into this 'game'? When one thinks about it it kinda is, we wear certain things to hide physical flaws, that's dishonesty, no? Edit: for the record I am not trolling or stirring up shot with you guys, it is very important that I understand what is expected of me if ever put into a social situation such as…

Why the fuck would any woman need advice about seduction? Are we talking about seducing other women? because that's another thing. But in terms of hetero women coming to this subreddit for advice, I just don't get it and I can't be alone. Last time I checked women held ALL the cards ALL the time. I'm not just crazy right?

Ugly man with superb MONEY can bone hot 20-somethings. And if you knew what I looked like, you would understand that there is no amount of game possible to make my situation work. I'm here to learn skills to seem more normal to people.

I'm a guy. I was making a comment regarding the fact that girls don't like ugly guys. That's the whole point of ugly as a distinction against handsome/good-looking/etc.. And my fellow fuglies would agree that we have to work extra hard just to get a woman to tolerate us long enough to make something happen.
/r/seduction04/08/11 07:44 AM

Every woman ever ever would like a word with you. Show me a woman who likes ugly guys (myself included) and I'll show you a woman who's either playing a huge prank or who has serious self-esteem issues that I couldn't possibly fix.

You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. Go out there and get if done. A good guy like you out there not having sex is a slap in the face to those of use who are thoroughly and hopelessly lost to unattractiveness and non-appeal.

I think that it comes from a place of not wanting to sound arrogant. I have the same sort of problem when someone compliments me, for whatever reason: I contradict them, If they say, hey nice job at the concert last night, I'll say something like, no it was terrible but thanks.

Yeah I don't smoke much weed anymore, I have a gov't job and we gave drug tests; and as anti-social as I am normally, it's compounded when I am baked.

I do because they do, and men are the same way. I have gotten into a decent routine of cardio and strength training, and I eat healthy. My problem I think, if what everyone here is saying is true, is confidence. I do tend to approach every situation with the mindset of, let's see how much this woman ends up hating me, I shouldn't linger because she doesn't want to be near me (who would?) --- the possibility that someone may find me attractive doesn't even enter into my mind as a possibility.

I try to take care of myself. I run about 18-20 miles a week (I know, it's not a lot. I had a guy laugh at me two weeks ago when I told him how much I run. 'You should do that in two days,' he said, but I am getting there slowly). to the point where if you feel awesome about yourself girls will respond This sounds quite arrogant to me. Or am I incorrect? And because we live in a world without mental telepathy, a woman cannot read my mind. What I think about myself should not matter, right? Becau…

One would be hard-pressed to find a woman who would agree that looks are irrelevant. I have always felt strange and somewhat suspicious when a woman is attracted to me; all I can think is, what is this girl's angle, you know? I don't trust anyone who thinks I am good looking, they are either deceitful or have some manner of problems correctly interpreting reality.
