I'm not reading anything about how you figured out that she's not in a relationship atm. Otherwise it's nonsense putting this much thought/feeling/outcome dependance in.

...doesn't matter if it's 20, 200 or 2000 dollars. Just that it's something that'll make you move your ass.

And you think this theatre act is kinder/easier somehow? I’ve found it hard to just end things with the truth Think of someone you have immense respect for. Would they say this kind of stuff?

You hand a friend 200 dollars. They will only give it back at the end of the day if you can say you approached someone. Next day two people. etc.

ok, so as a man, do you respect yourself for dodging these questions? Or do you feel this is ok because it's a 'means to an end'? Or do you feel nothing? Or what?

Dodging a serious question does not seem lame to you? I don't know man. If someone is dodging your questions...does your respect for them grow or diminish?

As non-native English speaker this kind of subtleties go over my head, I'm sorrry to say. Is there a way to explain this a bit different?

So...wait. You're asking us how you should subtly 'hint' that you want some mysterious future thing? And your guess is that women fall for you because you have this desire? I triple dare you to put this nonsense to the test during your next couple of dates. Just actualy blurt out what an amazingly fantastic goal you have and see if people magically become '...more attracted to you than currently are.' And report back please. If you'll excuse me, I now have to get back to some mysterious endeavou…

Some issues you can't simply 'believe yourself out of'.

What kind of issues - and do you have a strategy for this bouncing back?

I can go back to my place and do, but sometimes her place is just closer. And I have just never felt comfortable suggesting going to hers for fear of being perceived as overbearing. This fear might be unfounded, but I was just wondering how you guys would suggest this in a 'natural' way.

huh. Why would they prefer to go back to mine? Doesn't it feel 'safer' to have a date in your environment?

man...it's good content with practical advice. What's with all the shade? and yes I'm definately OP's tertiary account.

You're thinking talking about an ex as some taboo subject, but only if you do what most people do: just bitch or talk down their ex. huh. Valid point. If you (briefly) mention that you've parted on good terms it might also show that you're an emotionally mature person I guess.

You're bringing up your ex right before a kiss? I don't know man...

I'm in agreement with absolutely everything you said in this thread, yet still, when you say You have to keep a discerning eye open for a few years of you truly want to know what that forty year marriage is going to look like. ...all mariages that are now getting into their forty/fifty year anniversaries began in a time where it was way less common to date around and find the perfect match and "accurately assess long-term compatibility". I don't know what it is...but I feel there's more at play.

I know what you mean, but I guess there's ways to make it less cringey. During foreplay and sex I might whisper "Are you ok?" in her ear and I've only encountered enthusiastic agreement so far. So I guess that's one way to go about it.

Sorry man, I don't think I understand the question. Who are the women that dance with me? The women in the dancing class surely. Rotating dancing partners, so that teaches me to adjust to every individuals' dancing style.

Swingdancing made me só much more confident in being physically close to women - and leading with my body. Also: it's a lót of fun.

Solid advice, though 'Family' doesn't seem to work for me. I've had several great light hearted conversations devolve into therapy sessions because of father/mother/sibling issues - and I don't seem to know how to get back on the flirty track. I really like talking about 'deeper' topics and emotions, but apparently sometimes I should stay away from them 'till much later in the process.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
