For one, I'm talking about the 1997 movie and not the book (clearly they had some very different direction based on your information). I am not familiar with the 1950 novel and this topic is primarily about the 1997 film adaptation. Nevertheless, fiction affects how people behave in real life by basic principle of influence. I'm not familiar with many fictional social dynamics which echo AWALT as soundly as this one, so I brought it up. It's also weird to dismiss it as 'girl acting like a girl' …

That was a joke? Sounded like decent advice. Don't think the crab bucket mentality aspect is true though, she just like spamming ridiculous pictures in general. Thanks

I can see that you're very well educated in TRP, but you are basically naming the absence of behaviors signalling harmful traits i.e the absence of red flags. That's not the same thing as a green flag, which would be an indication of a useful trait. Maybe it would do well for you to think things through before jumping to conclusions and railing off on people. :)

It's a bad habit to get trapped in a cycle of silence though. At some point one will become too comfortable with silence, which can be disastrous if combined with a fear of failure. For every moment there is something to be lost by not staying silent, there is also a moment where risky experimentation poses something to gain.

What about all the high value men they don't bitch about? Sure I had bosses like OP's who could never get a kind word out of their female underlings' beaks but I also had bosses who were universally loved.

My mum and ex cultivated fan clubs for their personal woes and vendettas, I absolutely don't understand how people can stand these NPD characteristics. What kind of circumstances do you have to be under/skills do you need to have to accept that kind of shit, lol?

Doesn't maintaining frame basically reduce the chance they'll disrespect you and go off on 'non leashed' behavior though?

What would there be to think about lol doesn't TRP generally recommend GTFOing the scenario once she starts cheating? Also what circumstances constitute a girl 'running her mouth'?
/r/askTRP24/05/15 04:32 AM

Idk, it's not the first time I've heard the term 'leash' where i live. I initially thought it meant handling the shit tests well to train them but given the phrasing it kinda seemed off

I feel like people give too little credit to looking at what she fucked up. You gotta look at where she fucked you to realize where you can improve. I.e she took your car and your house, better get a good lawyer to draft your next prenup. Etc. You can't improve if you avoid your pitfalls the way people insist.

As in what play she makes depends on the factors I named lol, although yeah they probably do depend on my frame strength too. I cut her off a year ago. I'm just revisiting my mistakes to see how I can do better with the next girl

I wouldn't be surprised. I actually ran into her ex tw months into getting with her (she says she broke up with him a month before getting with me) and he accused me of stalking him (wtf??). I wish I was smarter and could deduce what kind of games the two of them were up to lol

So threats of infidelity are never to be considered shit tests?
/r/askTRP05/05/15 01:18 PM
1

It really depends on how much leverage she thinks she has at that moment, how confident she feels and how much free time she has to decide to react. I guess something along the lines of 'ok okay then (sadface smiley), I'll miss you but I'll be okay (happyface smiley)', or she starts crying and kicks up a massive fuss about how 'I REALLY LOVE YOU NEVER SAY SUCH THINGS ABOUT ME'.

Ok, I see your point. But how do the divorce payments work out for guys who have multiple marriages and divorces (ie Hugh)? Don't the divorce payments stack per wife? So if you take an example a woman who married x man who earns 10m a year, she takes 5m plus monthly alimony, and then his next ex wife takes 2.5m plus monthly alimony, and so on, someone like Hugh with multiple divorces would rapidly lose the ability to cry in even a dump truck.
/r/askTRP04/05/15 06:29 PM

I just don't understand how it can be comforting or even a remotely acceptable trade-off. :/ I'm not trying to make you feel bad or anything I just have no idea what circumstances would lead to someone thinking it was a good deal.

3 million? Really? Is it the same case when you have kids and a wife to support or do you quadruple the number?
/r/askTRP04/05/15 06:02 PM

Yeah, but women will always be women. They will still cheat and run off with the sexiest thing they see, if they can. How can it be comforting to return home to a creature that sees you as nothing more than something to take a bullet for her, cash for her kids or a network of emotions to manipulate and break?
/r/askTRP04/05/15 05:03 PM

Yeah but no prenup is completely safe, iirc? Even ironclad ones like Hugh's can be undermined by smart gold diggers. Unless you know more about their asset protection strategies than I do haha

I'll have to think harder if i have no references lol
/r/askTRP07/04/15 12:48 AM

Hm thats the straightforward approach. I was asking in terms of it as a joke, it's funny if you both know you're pretending idk why
/r/askTRP06/04/15 09:56 PM
1

Hmm.. that might actually be from social conditioning with regards to being forced to do what other people want me to do. I agree wholly with you and what you say but my body defaults to supplication every time. Intentionally doing it differently when i realize helps (it takes time and thought sorting but it helps) but sometimes I don't even realize I defaulted to supplicative behavior, how did you increase the chances of you picking up on your own supplication errors back then?

Sorry this is unrelated to topic, but Vandaa ehere do you get the red 8 next to your name and what does it mean?
/r/askTRP06/04/15 09:23 PM

Hahaaha, classic. I always found it funny when people joke about pretending they don't know someone after a transgression Where does the emotional wirework behind this strategy/jest come from? What does failing to acknowledge someone's relationship/association with you imply that makes it work?
/r/askTRP06/04/15 09:21 PM
1

What you said in the second paragraph sounds entertaining, do you have any film or rl references I can use to get a better idea of how to go about doing it? =>

There's a difference between talking to a new woman every night and getting access to a new plate option every night lol
/r/askTRP06/04/15 09:11 PM
1

That's not true, I knew a woman once who refused to hold on when dread gamed. She was the one who taught me it was the worst course of action. This was like a decade before TRP.
/r/askTRP04/04/15 10:08 PM
1

Describe what dread feels like to you. Idk if it's because I'm mistaken about the emotion or whatever but I frankly can't see myself getting back together with someone who tried to use dread of cheating against me. It seems really counter intuitive that it would work on girls.
/r/askTRP04/04/15 07:59 PM
2

Wait, then where did the anger phase come into effect? While you were still suspicious?
/r/askTRP04/04/15 06:28 PM
2

Eh, it never got to the anger stage for me. I know I got the breathlessness one though, nearly mistook it for excitement at one point. Did the anger trigger when you confirmed the suspicions?
/r/askTRP04/04/15 06:15 PM
1

Yes, this is exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. Thanks for not waving your dong around as a humongous flagellant like everyone else is doing in this thread. It's that general feeling of something being amiss, right? Does it resemble dread or terror in any way? It's been a long time since I was last cheated on so I can't really rely on memory.
/r/askTRP04/04/15 06:12 PM
3

Yeah, tell me more about that emotion. Is it similar to terror? Or more like dread? How would you compare it to a more common emotion in a way a layman can understand
/r/askTRP04/04/15 05:56 PM
1

Bro I am completely aware of what you are saying but I'm trying to figure out if the emotion I'm feeling from x guy who on our first meeting told me he is cheating with y girl on z boyfriend is the same as the one people feel when they get cheated on or if not what the hell it is. I'm not sure if it's a shit test because he kept trying to gaslight me. And I'm not sure what this feeling I'm experiencing is. Except power is not status. Both are crucial and valuable, but they are different concepts. For instance a person can have status maintained through a web of lies but actually be very weak employment position-wise.

Yeah but like what factors contribute to it? I know it's dressing, manners, wealth, occupation but I have no idea how it all scales together. Eli5 pls ):

No, I do not want mollification. If you have a point then prove it, otherwise do not make it in the first place. Give me examples, because out of the thousands of people I've met I've only known one person with an abusibe father and that father was locked up a long time ago. Show me your evidence.
/r/askTRP23/01/15 12:53 PM
1

Give me examples, because where modern society is at I'd be amazed if there still exists such a thing as a physically abusive man. The negative backlash is so overwhelming enough that my mum has gotten away with charging men with physical abuse when all he did was pat her on the back.
/r/askTRP23/01/15 12:38 PM

Really? My maternal grandfather was perpetually abused physically by his mother (whacked on the head with pots and pans), while his father was busy out chasing other women.
/r/askTRP23/01/15 09:21 AM

I'm sorry, but I'm not 30 or older so your idea of common sense definitely doesn't match mine. A mother being awarded custody over the father would also hinder her ability to earn income, I don't quite get you.
