I'm not sure that conservatives advocate strict gender roles. There's a whole swath of them that are "do what you want just don't step on my toes". Alliance is possible if you can learn to tolerate other differences

I wonder if some articles are written just for the outrage they generate

It doesn't bother me so much that it's conservatives that speak up for male issues, because conservatism doesn't bother me because I'm a moderate. What bothers me is the toxic bullshit that overlaps with those particular conservatives. I try to separate political viewpoints from extremism, whether that's on the left or the right. Although, it's harder to do it on the left because most social media (including reddit) are dominated by the left which means I run into the extremism more often. Edit:…

There's a reason why more men identify as conservative. It's because they're welcome there.

Here's roughly what research shows: -Men and women both benefit from marriages in terms of health and happiness. -Women may benefit less, but still benefit when in a happy marriage -Unhappy marriages remove any health protective effects for women -Women suffer more after a break up, but this finding is mixed. Some research shows men suffering more. Overall, there seems to be a trend showing that women may not benefit from marriages as consistently as men do. Some of this may have something to do…

I'm 6'3, and apparently I look like a hoodlum whenever I wear a hoodie (every time I go workout). I never gave this a thought, nor do I care to. I also never ran into issues with this when interacting with women. A few women did tell me that I look dangerous. But, again, I never gave this a second thought because I come across scary looking people all the time. To me, this is just a normal part of life. Some people look scary, some look warm, some look like they're assholes. To bitch and moan ab…

Holy shit i never thought of it that way. You're right: What the hell are we doing being all like "yay, poor girl! Glad she's released!" when the dude she talked into doing it is still serving.

Society is correctly identifying a problem: Lonely men. What is interesting is that these men are being vilinized instead of helped. I don't see any mass movements to help them. Granted, I do understand why they are being vilinized: A lot of these mass shooters were loners. A lot of crazy shit happens due to isolation.

The thing about paying for a girlfriend experience is that it leaves you feeling emptier. Granted, that's only my experience. Maybe some men feel fully content with it, but I doubt it. A while ago I paid for a webcam chick's private show and while it was awesome cuz I was horny AF and lonely after a break up, I could feel how it was just a small aspect of the relationship (sex and attention), void of the personal relational component. Once I hit post nut clarity I decided it wasn't worth it, cuz…

I don't imagine that masculinity on the left is much different from masculinity on the right. Politics have nothing to do with masculinity, IMO. I'm not a big proponent of the concept of "toxic masculinity." Toxic is toxic. If a man treats women poorly, then he's toxic. If he spreads hatred, then he's toxic. etc etc. The same goes for a woman. I agree with you that masculinity is likely individual, though. To me, the main issue with masculinity is the polarity pulling in opposite directions when…

What do men get in return for risking life & limb? Why does there have to be a direct return for every action? Acting in the interest of society, especially in critical situations, is about collective well-being, not individual gain. It's about responsibility and stepping up when times are tough, even if personal gain isn't obvious. I expect Society to respect Men in return for their bravery and not allow feminists to spew hatred at men While I understand frustration with extremist views, genera…

Part of living in our society calls that you fulfill certain duties. For example, during times of war one of your duties is to go into combat if you're called upon. Women are probably not going to be required to do this and if they are called into the military, then they're probably not going to be put in combat roles. Another rule of living in a society that's sometimes upheld explicitly and sometimes implicitly, is that in moments of emergencies, we prioritize women and children. You might won…

What's the difference between men playing the role of protectors, sacrificing themselves for the good of the whole and androcide?

Not true. Too lazy to back it up with academics. Look into sentinel island though. They've maintained a population of approx. 90 ppl for ages.

In the interest of not developing tunnel vision on this issue, let me point out that this statement lies within a larger context. First of all, to say that the sole value of anyone is based on one particular thing is a gross oversimplification. However, I do not mean to suggest that people whose experiences suggest that they are only valued for one thing don't exist: They do, but they're reflections of unhealthy relationships. In normal, healthy relationships people value each other simply for t…

My mom was a professor and she said the same thing. Women were always more prepared than men.

Weren't there studies done comparing lesbian, gay, and hetero relationships, finding that the order of most to least violent is: Lesbian, hetero, gay? IMO, that indicates something.

In the streets, women have privilege. On the corporate ladder, men may have privilege.

You must live in some skinny-people enclave, cuz otherwise you'd have to be blind not to see this shit. 80.9% of all women in the US are at least overweight, with ALMOST HALF of all women obese. How you not notice that 4 out of 5 women are overweight is beyond me.. Here's the data for adult women: Overweight 27.5% Obese 41.9% Severely obese 11.5% Now let's add up all our fatties: 27.5 + 41.9 = 11.5 = 80.9% Forget breaking this shit down by age... We really don't have to. You don't go from 80% do…

I always attributed it to Americans standards being skewed cuz most women are fat... so if you're not into fat chicks you're shit out of luck. Meanwhile in Eastern Europe they're still skinny so more of them seem attractive, and therefore you get more hits with decent women. Could be wrong tho..
