However, to women that have dealt with domestic violence: we know what it looks like! Those of us who are men and have been the victims of domestic violence know it as well. Women don't have some superpower that men lack. About his finger injury Depp said: I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want her to get in trouble. Typical narcissist response. Typical abused spouse response. I truly believe in her right to tell her truth. Of course she does and she has done so. He has that same right. You…

I don't see the pussypass. This is a case of making someone stateless which is illegal under international law (and I'm sure illegal under UK law as well). The UK is trying to claim that she has citizenship in another country, but that country has already said that she does not. There is no reason why the UK can't allow her back then put her on trial and sentence her to prison which seems to be a lot safer than letting her wander around out there unchecked if safety were the real concern.

He was asking if she was successful (married) or not (single). She was letting him know that she was in fact more successful than he was giving her credit for. Not that difficult people.

So because it hasn't happened in a couple hundred years, it is impossible for it to ever happen again? That is the world view of a child. Things happen for the first time in history all the time. The US has executed successful conflicts by any measure. We have also executed conflicts that were successful by measures other than those that some or most people wish, but that align with what we set out to do. Sometimes we stay beyond the mission to line people's pockets, but that is another matter e…

It was newsworthy. It was also a case of revenge porn. The judge ruled that the public interest overrode her private interest in the case of the Daily Mail due to some of the particulars. Her ex will probably not benefit in the same way.

How do you know it is an Nazi era iron cross and not an iron cross from some other era? It could be a modern era iron cross, like the ones currently used by the German air force or by numerous clothing lines, skateboarders, etc. You are making assumptions not only with no basis, but that require a huge stretch to get from point A to point B. I'm not saying that you can't be right. I'm saying that you skipped over a dozen more likely scenarios to pick out the one that fit your narrative.

I still can't be convinced that OJ did it. The evidence was almost there, but not quite. Even the DNA evidence is marginal and only matches something like 7 loci which is not a good match. Sure, it doesn't exclude OJ, but it also doesn't exclude a ridiculous number of other people in LA either (and yes, I know how DNA evidence is used and this does go somewhere). I think that everybody has tunnel vision and is so focused on OJ that they are not considering other possibilities. I also think that …

We don't convict people based upon uninformed people's opinions. There need to be facts and enough of them to provide proof "beyond a reasonable doubt". Even with that burden of proof we convict countless innocent people every year for crimes that they did not commit. Usually because someone has decided that their opinion counts more than the evidence.

Appeals, mostly. But also a lot of states are not actively executing prisoners for various reasons.

She shouldn't have tweeted about Cooper's annual contract because it is irrelevant. What is relevant is what he gets paid for that broadcast which is certainly not the same as what he gets paid for his normal hour long (or whatever...I don't watch CNN) weeknight broadcasts. If those numbers are way off of her check, then she's got a case...it isn't like Cooper is an A-list celebrity or something. If the numbers aren't way off (and they probably aren't) then she's just blowing smoke. If someone p…

Of course not, I have above room-temperature IQ. A low bar...and not high enough to get into the military...but entirely believable.

Also can you image what it's going to be like when the first women soldier gets captured and tortured? Yeah...can you imagine what life will be like in 2003? Flying cars, hoverboards, the internet...it's going to be crazy.

I think the lady is a liar the fact she wont goto cops is ridiculous. So what you are actually saying is that you don't know anything about rape or rape victims, but you are going to go ahead and state your opinion as if you were some sort of expert anyway. I don't know if this woman is telling the truth or not, but the fact that she isn't going to the police does nothing to make her story less believable as that is more common than not in rape cases for a whole bunch of reasons including this t…

It's perfectly legal for shops or businesses to detain people suspected of stealing. The rub is that they'd better be 100% correct or they are guilty of false imprisonment. "I thought that I saw something." is not going to be a good enough defense.

Traci Lords is a different situation though. She had a messed up childhood and started in porn at 15 during a period when the industry was much nastier and drug infested than it is now. When she turned 18 and everybody found out, it caused a lot of issues and she was ostracized. I'm sure that in hindsight it was not a series of decisions that she remembers fondly and that she wants to be reminded about. It probably isn't even the porn itself so much as the fallout after everybody found out she w…

Israel's army is a lot of things, but nobody is ever going to accuse them of being less effective than anybody else. Likewise, the YPJ is extremely effective at what they do. So I don't know what fake studies you are making up, but they didn't fake study actual military units with women in them.

The US military has changed a lot since Vietnam. This is in no small part because of Vietnam. Vietnam was fought in the old meatgrinder style of warfare. The thinking was that if they threw enough bodies at the problem, an American had to end up on top of the pile. Unfortunately, nobody gave the Vietnamese the playbook. We can all see how well that worked out. Conflicts since then have been fought in much more of a "shock and awe" style of warfare. The general idea being that if we use our techn…

Imagine if someone who murdered your family was sent to rehabilitation for mental illness instead of jail. Where has justice gone? Maybe rehabilitation should be the goal rather than revenge (that is what you mean by "justice"). “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind” That does not preclude punishment as a part of the rehabilitation, but punishment as a form of revenge should not be the ultimate goal. Nothing good comes from that.
