Yes, I picked up guitar during the pandemic. It's great.

I love my resilience. No matter what, I keep trying.

I had a guy pull that split the bill nonsense at a restaurant. He then mentioned a second date. I ignored him after that moment and went up to the bar to pay (of course he followed me). He asked where I parked, and I yelled at him that I wasn't interested. Lol.

Yes. Also, did you notice that she has hairy legs as if a woman with body hair is immediately unkempt? That cover is pure sexism.

I know! I asked him what he spent his time focusing on during the pandemic, and not once did he mention raising his children. So bizarre.

He said that the house was in his wife's name, and they were waiting to sell the house so they could split the equity. Even if that were true, his life was just way too messy for me.

Yep. I've learned to listen when people show me who they are.

Definitely. I only feel bad for the next woman as I'm sure my reaction will convince him to lie to her instead of revealing his circumstance.

I don't even have kids and I agree with this. You take time out of your day to shop for food, cook the food and serve it to your family - - - and you've likely been working all day too, so you're tired and just want to be appreciated. I'm sure it would hurt to have someone just dismiss the food and say they don't like it. I once heard a mom say that she will make the food and if the kids don't want to eat it, then they eat cereal for dinner. I think that's a good compromise. I've also heard moms…

Yeah, I looked at that text and was like what the hell is this lol? He wants me to chase him down and use this information as a basis for pursuing him. Not going to happen.

I don't block numbers because my phone doesn't really get rid of numbers. It stores the block numbers on a list that is easily accessible on my phone. I didn't want a moment of desperation to lead me to look at that list and text the guy, so I just delete the numbers. It works 99% of the time.

More phrases: --I make time for the people I care about / you're going to have to work to earn my affection or trust (You most likely will not be one of the people he draws into his circle, and he will neglect you in your needs because you didn't "earn it.") --Don't be boring (this guy craves dysfunction and does not know how to conduct himself maturely in a relationship). --new to the area/check out places in the area/explore the area (this guy is not looking for a committed relationship. He is…

Not Your Mother's Rules has a section devoted to profiles. Essentially, they say to briefly describe yourself (maybe 1-2 sentences) and avoid mentioning trigger words such as nurturing, marriage, commitment, etc that make men think you will chase them.

WooPlus. It's not a major app, but I met a decent guy on there.

Yep. That's what I was thinking. many men are using the quarantine to actually suggest this sort of date with a straight face lol.

That's what I thought. We were talking about weather and what we like to do during the quarantine, and then all of a sudden he mentions watching a movie with me? It was very strange.

I can't block him because he's a paid member, so he can message me even if we don't match. Lol, the app is sort of crappy but I met a decent guy from there once so I still use it.

How can you tell the difference between a guy who love bombs and a guy who's just being overly romantic?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/07/20 01:14 AM
2

Totally. These men don't actually want women who desire situationships. It's been discussed here before, but many men want the benefits of the girlfriend without having to devote himself to the relationship. A woman that selects something casual knows from the beginning not to invest in their interactions, limiting her generosity and consideration for the guy, as she should. These guys usually don't want that, which makes their dishonesty much worse.

I really can't stand men using the relationship option to look for casual or hookups. Bumble offers a casual option, if I'm remembering correctly. They're lying from their very first interaction with a woman, but will claim later on that they've always been upfront with their intentions.

This was before I read the rules and discovered FDS, but I knew, even back then, that this was a red flag lol.

Same. The guy actually told me he was still talking to his ex and gave a litany of excuses for why they still needed to communicate. He was in the military and also said that he didn't think it would work out because he would be leaving soon, but I brought up long distance relationships and how sometimes they work. 🤡

Glad you blocked them. He was just looking for an ego boost. If he wanted to ask you out, he would have. I just finished reading Not Your Mother's Rules, and they actually provide examples of what a ood text conversation should look like. I especially like their idea of matching the guy's energy and never writing more than he does.

Also, I love the fact that he thought the first face to face interaction we should have should be at some random ass mall. Just no effort whatsoever lol.

It puts you in a strange position: if it's a customer, there's a weird power dynamic where you might feel obliged to entertain his advances. If it's a colleague, that might be a little different, although I wouldn't advise it because it could make the workplace pretty awkward if you two don't work out.

I've been in the situation before. He doesn't text you because you're not a priority and he most likely has another girl or ex that he is talking to. Confronting him about this is useless because he'll probably modify his behavior just to appease you and get you off his back, but the selfishness and disregard for you will remain regardless of whatever temporary fixes he employs. If you wanted to text you, he would text you.

Thanks. I think it's a little bit of both. I have a lot of pick me energy, and I do want to work on having more self worth and confidence. I am trying to read more books about setting boundaries and having more self-love, but it's a very slow process lol. I'm trying to undo years of self-doubt and poor self-esteem. I guess I got eager about this guy because he initially checked all the boxes. I agree that I need to take a step back and stop trying too hard. Thanks for your comments.

What do you think about phone calls during quarantine? How frequently should they be happening?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/06/20 03:25 PM
2

He didn't really say that I would hear from him, just that we should talk and I should call him. I took that to mean that he wants me to call him, but I know that guys should generally initiate contact as a demonstrates their interest in a woman. In my last situation, I was the one that was mostly texting and reaching out to the guy. I don't want to repeat that mistake, but I also want to make sure that I'm not being too rigid.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/06/20 11:18 AM

That's a good strategy - - assuming you'll never hear from them again. So I assume you limit the amount of times you initiate contact or text? I have to stop myself from thinking about the guy, especially if he generally checks all the boxes right at the beginning.

Thanks. I consider the quarantine over at this point. We had our phone chat today. If he doesn't ask me out by the end of this week, I'm moving on.

How many times should you talk to a guy on the phone before you guys go on an actual date? I messed up and told the guy that I enjoyed our conversation that we should chat again. He suggested that I can call him later this week, and I don't want to get in the habit of just talking on the phone because that will lead nowhere.

So, I'm a recovering pick me and I'm still working to establish boundaries. This guy I'm casually chatting with (through email) to asked if he could call me for the first time today. Since he asked today, I told him to call me tomorrow and he agreed. What is the general waiting time for proposing a date/call and actually meeting/talking to the guy?
