Realise that it’s not a competition and that comparison kills. I know it’s a lot easier said than done but you need to retrain your brain so that your first reaction isn’t jealousy. Also, improve yourself as a whole, you’re worth more than just your looks! It’s great that you’re losing weight to be healthy but this can be a slippery slope if you’re just doing it for male attention. Extra tip for what worked for me: a gentle way to admit you were wrong is to say, “I didn’t realise how bad ____ was”, which is a nice way to admit you we improperly educated on a topic but now know better

My friends were very accepting of me changing my views without the need for a big talk about it. If you’ve said anything particularly offensive to a friend I do think an apology would be nice, but overall for me they just realised my views had changed and didn’t make a fuss about it. it was much easier than I thought it would be! Remember, they’re your friends :)
