1	The universe did not abide by her plans. Source? As a currently-pregnant person who was scared of having a baby with trisomy I spent a lot of time looking at numbers when I first got pregnant. That was a good 5 months ago now so I totally could be misremembering, but I definitely don’t remember seeing a 1:350 chance anywhere. Edit: just read a thing that says 1:100 for 40+ but that number is probably lower than it actually is because that’s based on live births, and many trisomy fetuses don’t make it to birth.	/r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen	03/05/20 11:35 PM
5	The universe did not abide by her plans. There are definitely tests for this. If you’re 35+ they’ll do “non-invasive prenatal testing” which picks up the embryo’s DNA in mom’s blood and can tell if there’s an abnormality. They also do a nuchal translucency ultrasound around 12 weeks, where they look at the amount of fluid on the embryo’s neck and if it’s over a certain amount it’s a marker for chromosomal abnormalities, along with a check for the length of the nasal bone.
