In the U.S., people socialize at bars with complete strangers, whereas in Korea you go with people you already know, get a table, and that's about it; more of a private outing. To be honest, Western-style bars aren't too popular, and this is mainly because Koreans like to drink and eat at the same time. 4	Seoul: need advice on the pickup environment. People don't socialize at bars like in the U.S., and there is a significant difference between a club and a "night" (club), which I found out the hard way. Use the fact that you speak English to your advantage because a lot of Korean girls find that attractive and then just go from there. Also, helps to be a good looking foreigner.
