Add tendons to this list as well. If you continue to lift (heavy) with any of the above injuries they will continue to get worse until you physically cannot lift any more. Better to rest and recuperate those injuries as it will take significantly longer for them to heal if you keep working them. Try doing different lifts, and work with high volume/low weight. I was having an issue with tendonitis behind my elbows from going to hard on my triceps. Switched from 3 sets of 12 at 125 on pull downs t…

This is bad lifting advice. If you want to maximize your gains, you have to work your legs. Your body will release much higher levels of testosterone when you work your biggest muscles (i.e. legs) which will greatly contribute to your overall muscle growth. Yes, women are most attracted to a big chest and chiseled abs, but you are sabotaging your progress if you skimp on working your legs. Also, keep on mind the way you need to lift at 30 is VASTLY different than the way you needed to work out a…

If you don't know what STFU means, you obviously haven't read the sidebar, and you certainly haven't read through the top MRP posts of all time. Read the fucking sidebar.

You need to lift (heavy weights) at least 3 times per week, preferably 4 or 5. Do a deload every 5 weeks or so. If you're still getting fat it's because you have a shit diet. You will NEVER out-train a shit diet. Getting lean and looking good is 70% diet 30% lifting. Stop being lazy and get to the fucking gym, and stop eating fucking gummy bears.

OYS WEEK 5 STATS M34 married 12 yrs. Wife 35. Two kids, ages 10 and 2. Bench 1RM 315 DL335 5x3Leg Press 870 5x5. Gym MWFS. Overview Generally good progress over the past 2 weeks. Wife has been shit testing more often, but now that I am able to recognize them, I am able to easier handle them. She mentioned my shift in behavior earlier this week, and said that my changes have increased her anxiety. I responded "I would think that me taking more initiative to handle things around the house, and our…

OYS Week 2 General Overview Made good progress this week on many things on my MAP, mostly focused around not procrastinating. Working hard on developing frame and utilized STFU and AM (to the best of my ability, anyway). Passed 3 ST, a proud accomplishment as this is shark week. Stuck to the diet all week and didn't go over my calorie goal at all. Lifted 4 days this week. Overdid triceps on Saturday, which aggravated tendonitis in my left elbow. Was able to complete several projects around the h…

No, the knee still hurts when I do deadlift. It's not about the pain while performing the excercise, it's about the amount of pain in the joint the following day. To hit full depth on squat requires a lot of flexion in the knee, which strains the tendons. With a deadlift, there is still some flexion to the knee, but you're not taking it all the way down to a 45° angle, fully loading it and exploding back up. As I said, I still am able to do 850 on leg press because that isn't as hard on my knee …

Thanks for the tip. It's osteoarthritis, as far as cause? Just lucky I guess. I take Glucosamine, seems to help. Other than that it's just Advil, and make sure I get up and move around every hour or so. Long car rides are a bitch though.

Sorry, typo on the weight. I'm at 240, not 140.

Thanks, been working hard on bench. Arthritis was diagnosed after MRI and X-Ray. It's a real bitch too. Knee brace helps enough to do lunges and linear press, but if I do squats I can't walk the next day.
