Oh no we split pretty much every bill. If you go out with family or friends, you can expect a Tikkie afterwards (Tikkie is an app that allows you to send payment requests via Whatsapp). It’s expected, bot frowned upon. Even if whoever paid doesn’t send you a Tikkie straight away you ask them to send one.

Funny, I live in The Netherlands - yes, the country known for the phrase “going Dutch”. Splitting the bill is something we did in our University days and our twenties. Past 30/40, it’s usually men who pay the bill, but I always insist on paying the drinks afterwards or the next date. (The above does not reflect my expectation, merely my experience as a Dutchie in the dating scene)

If my date would order 3 appetizers I’d just whisper in his ear “game on!” and order 4. Two can play that game 😘 Also, I might propose to him on the spot.

Yes! Some of my friends just have a low (below 10%) body fat percentage and don't need to flex to have their abs visible (then again, they're trained athletes). The guys in the images posted are even pushing their belly out to shot how "fat" they are in a "relaxed" state - while in neither of the pictures they are relaxed. Same goes with a lot of back-muscle and leg/butt pictures (for both men and women by way). When you want to show off your body in front of a camera, you flex muscles and strik…

Transgender female = born as a boy, turned into/wants to become a woman Transgender male = born as a girl, turned into/wants to become a man The problem with identity politics like this is that you get snowflakes and assholes (m/f) claiming they idenfity as the opposite gender (even though they don't look and act like it). By doing so, they give real transgenders (as in: people who have struggled from an early age with having the wrong body parts and who undergo years of painful treatment, med…

I know, but some women feel the same. We show initiative, we’re agressive or needy. We must not appear stronger, smarter or wealthier than our partner. If we have kids and decide to work we’re bad mothers, if we work and don’t have kids we’re insensitive career bitches. Dress too long? Prude. Dress to short? Slut. Wearing jeans instead of a dress? Lesbian, or trying to act like a man.

The issue is in part that women cannot, or at least are taught not to, afford to send the wrong signals to anyone who could, within reason, misconstrue the compliment as attraction. 100% true! I like giving compliments to people around me, but when I complimented one of the men on my team for putting together a great presentation (it showed he really put in a lot of work) people started gossiping about me flirting with him etc.. Exactly! Sometimes being the only woman OR the only man in the room makes it a bit more difficult to be heard - doesn’t make anyone more or less qualified, but on-the-job-mentoring is the best thing to help push people and the company forward.

The funniest thing is that I work for a company with rootsnin Scandinavia, where you find the most equal division of tasks/labour/rights/whatever than anywhere in the world. Labelling something “diversity” is foreign to us; we work together and we work hard, putting the people in positions that suit then best. Making a gender/race based policy is a completely foreign concept and quite honestly: an insult to everyone working and applying to work for us.

For a long time, the Dutch law described rape as being penetrated forcefully or without consent, which would mean that unless the victim was penetrated, there would not be a rape case. The law has now changed/broadened, and being penetrated is given as an “including but not limited to” example, so for Dutch law men are acknowledged as victims too.

Just let your mother be. It’s her business, her home, she’s allowed to invite whoever she wants into her home (and exclude whoever she wants). When you’re home alone, would you invite strangers that you don’t feel safe/comfortable with into your home? Better find out why she doesn’t feel safe around men (who knows what she may have experienced) and help make her feel safer (alarm button? cctv?) rather than judge her.

Very sad. Story reminds me of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/FamilySecrets/comments/bu2jyt/my_cousin_caused_my_uncles_suicide I don’t understand why people make false allegations like this in the first place; not only is it beyond cruel to the innocent accused, but it also makes it harder for real victims to speak up and take action.

No idea who these people are, but came across this article on Metro.co.uk and was happy to read about the viewer's reactions: Curtis Pritchard caused frustration with Maura Higgins after he rejected her sexual advances, but it’s his apology which has riled viewers. Maura complained to the girls about the lack of action with her frustrations soon …

Among men who reported a live birth, 5.8% reported graduating from college, and 32.4% had any post-high school education compared with 22.1%, and 58.5% of men who reported a pregnancy ended in abortion. I wonder what time period/age the researchers looked at for these results. If you become a parent age 19, I can imagine you kind of have different priorities at the time, but how many of those teen parents do get some post-high school graduation by the time they reach 30, 35, 40?

Are you comparing an innocent piece of foreskin to a (potentially lethal) tumor? What happened, the doctos cut a piece of your brain instead of your dick when you were a child? By the way, circumcision is not the norm in the countries with the healthiest populations in the world. So there goes your unfounded argument on health benefits. STI’s are prevented by protected sex, having a foreskin or the lack thereof doesn’t make you better protected - or worse. When it comes to hygiene: clean your fu…

Thanks for cleating that up :-) How much consent is there really if it is done as a result of society pressure - whether that happens to men's bodies (supported by the stubborn arguments in this reply) or women's bodies (OP removed their post but read the replies of women's experiences with gyno's/medical 'professionals' telling them their labia/breasts look weird). Yes, only this case none of the commenters broke any of the rules yet were accused of derailing when they said they 1) preferred men, or 2) said it’s about the person not the gender, or 3) said they didn’t experience men as selfish bed partners. Whereas comments and replies that indicate men (have a tendency to) cross a woman’s sexual boundaries are not removed and seem to get full support. In short: * saying you prefer male bed partners over female ones: derailing * saying gender doesn’t matter…
