Yeah, I've hovered over the button to leave this sub at least three times this week. Too many posts here just boil down to exactly what you said followed by a bunch of incels discussing what they would do to a woman like that. I joined here to read about women trying to get special treatment because of their gender but there is less and less of that to be found here.

Agreed. It's just that lately most posts on this sub are just about women getting justice served regardless of whether they're trying to get special treatment for being women. It's the assumption that they'll get special treatment that makes this sub interesting to me but we see less and less of that in this sub nowadays.

Her life is over regardless. By the time she gets out she'll have spent more time in prison than as a free woman. She'll be in her sixties with probably little to no money saved up. She'll need to work well into her twilight years which is going to be hard enough considering she has a record. Honestly, her having to pick up the shards of what's left of her life once she gets out almost sounds like more of a punishment than her spending the rest of her life in prison.

I have worked with the public extensively. And I still deal with customers trying to get free stuff almost on a daily basis even now that I'm no longer in a job that usually gets that kind of behavior. That still doesn't mean you should get rude right off the bat. Different types of people get different answers but none of them should be treated rudely unless they're rude first.

It's hard to be supportive of children who want to pursue arts if their family is already struggling to make ends meet without having to buy expensive instruments or lessons. I don't think it's a cultural thing to not support children pursuing arts, it's a socioeconomic thing that would not exist if there was more racial equality. Especially with music you need a certain amount of talent. A skilled musician can usually hear if someone has talent but not skill (or the other way around) and might give someone who has talent but is not yet skilled enough a shot anyway. They're the same thing in my country, to my knowledge. We only have one term for it and payments stop when the child is old enough to take care of him- or herself. I don't think it's unreasonable to not fire someone based on allegations alone. It's usually a good thing to wait until a conviction or any other event that makes it clear that whatever bad things they're accused of really did happen. Having said that, in this case it's been painfully clear that she did ask those horrible things considering she herself provided the evidence to prove that. They should have fired her sooner.
