If there's any theme I've noticed going through this subreddit, it's that the goal is general attitude improvement. If you do go hyper-confident, be hyper-confident in the things you know will make people smile (easiest thing being usually just smiling first). This is my problem as well. You don't seem to have any trouble addressing the shit tests, it's just that there's no game with no audible wit. The advice below is pretty good, but let me add this to it: drink something stronger, earlier, at least a couple minutes before you hit that dancefloor, and then nothing else except water the rest of the night. I would agree, your personality would seem to be fine as you are. No real need for comedy, but it is a good opportunity to pick up the skill so long as you have a stable social life and plenty of heads to bounce ideas off of (having an audience is absolutely critical for practicing comedy and other speech-related routines).
