I think this strategy would work at the very beginning stages, like you said. I don't think OP meant to keep around three guys just for validation. That's silly. Date them enough to figure if they for what you're looking for, get commitment, and drop the others. This isn't something that should last for several dates.

So in this situation, both are withholding what the other wants. Men are withholding commitment by having sex with multiple women, women are withholding sex by dating multiple men until she receives commitment. Why is one right while the other is wrong?

Innocent question: why is bad for a woman to date different men (without having sex) until one of them offers exclusivity, but it's okay if a man hooks up with multiple women at the same time? I agree that it's not something you should brag about, but I think you should be honest if one of the them asks if you're dating other men. I don't think it comes across as fighting for a prize, you're just keeping your options open until one of them offers a relationship.

This is great advice. I would add working on emotional intimacy (talking about your situation and asking how you can improve) and adding in physical affection (more hugs, kisses, holding hands, etc.). This will hopefully make sex seem like less of a chore and ease the transition.

I never intended on lying, but like others said, leaving it at "my family and I aren't close" until I get to know them better. If it's such a huge red flag for them, that would hopefully tip them off without going into detail.

I think a lot of people understandably expect a lot of mental issues when someone isn't close with their family. They think it makes you less of a man/woman if you didn't have the right mother/father figure in your life. And they aren't wrong. But I do believe some people take it as an opportunity to better themselves and break the dysfunctional cycle. And yes, no more stressful holidays :D

Thank you, this seems like the best response. The last guy I dated wanted to press the issue and ask a lot of intrusive questions, which led to me opening up more than I should have. I'm better at setting boundaries now though. And I agree, I wish people were more accepting like you. I used to tell people I wasn't close with my family (without any other details) and I always got lectured. Now I try to avoid the subject as much as possible.

I used to go to bars alone when I was younger. Not to pick up men, but just to relax and get a drink after work. Usually the guys that approached me were pretty sketchy. Going out and doing daytime activities will likely get you better results. This might go against red pill, but don't go out with the goal of finding a man. Go out to enjoy yourself. That way you will feel more at ease and you might attract a guy more naturally.
