small state anarchism And you're the one accusing people of not knowing what anarchism is?

Oh god, it just gets funnier. I'm just waiting for an explanation on how statism is just Marxism. I might not want to see it, I may suffocate.

Feminism requires Marxism. No argument there, liberal feminism is inherently contradictory on many levels. statism is just Marxism Hahaha, oh man. I'm dying here.

feminist statism An MRA and an ancap. The delusion just doesn't end.

That's a very nice way of saying "hardly anyone supports the MRA cause."

If a man can do whatever he wants with his body, so can a woman. It's the woman's body that the thing is staying in and taking resources from, and if they have the right to do whatever they want with their body, they have the right to stop it. It's really that simple. Furthermore, only a religious fundamentalist lunatic would go as far as to call a fetus in the first two trimesters as something already "created."

They're relying on the "innocent female" image, while trying to get away with evil. And where would that image come from if not gender roles?

It's really funny, because if you just change the words around, the same thing can be applied to the men's rights movement. There aren't many people on this board who genuinely have prejudice towards men. Many have prejudices towards MRAs, but it's such a broad ideology that it's impossible to identify any one tenet to be disgusted by without being told, "That's not what real mens rights is." "Real mens' rights" is as "no true scotsman" as it gets. It's like catching smoke. /r/feminism and many …

Defending the existence of gender roles necessarily involves defending the discrimination that is faced by both genders. If the men's rights movement wants to achieve the end of discriminatory practices toward men, then it should reject the existence of gender roles for men. And if it wants to not seem as a blatantly misogynistic movement, it must also reject the existence of gender roles for women.

And yet...not a single comment regarding the rape of 1400 children in 7 hours!

You just listed some stuff you perceive society wants from men (which society? ALL of them? Also, is there a consensus to those opinions or are they just part of an ideology?) They are merely examples. Pick whatever characteristics or society you want - that doesn't matter for the sake of this argument. The point is to reject the expectation that anyone act or think a certain way - any way - merely due to the biological lottery. Should black people be expected to behave a certain way solely beca…

You are just repeating this statement without providing any evidence. It's important to distinguish between gender and sex. Sex for humans is male, female, asexual, hermaphrodite, which are purely biologically deterministic features. Gender is man and woman and the associated characteristic of each which are not biologically deterministic. What are some characteristics which society often associates with "man"? Having a tough, intimidating personality Being the breadwinner for the family Being p…

Hold on a second. A common subject matter in /r/mensrights is the idea that men often have their "manliness" questioned whenever they do or say or think something unmanly. When someone rejects this idea that men should act or think in some specific, socially-determined way, that means they are rejecting the social construct of "man," and the idea that men act, think and do "manly things." Its the same thing as saying that people shouldn't have a gender attached to them and be expected to be what…

Let's just look at labor. It took a world war for men to realize that women could perform the same labor men did, and in the following decades women have entered the workforce in great numbers, even in physically taxing labor (jobs which could only be performed men, according to the old society). We are also seeing as a result of that change that stay-at-home dads are slowly becoming a more acceptable thing in society. Just like that "gender roles" have become more blurry and indistinguishable. …

The roles genders are put in are almost completely socially constructed. Why is there a need to play that kind of oppression olympics in the first place? There isn't, I only said that if we were to accept gender roles, that would be the more credible response. But since I don't, then its really irrelevant.

Of course they do. Racial privilege and gender privilege are both privilege. They only expectations should be that the privileged acknowledge their it and how it affects them, and to recognize that race and gender are both just social constructs that should not exist. Once the ideas of race and gender are both destroyed, there will be no discrimination or privilege based on race or gender.

Within the last 100 years, the social constructs of man and women have changed dramatically. To say otherwise is extremely naive and historically inaccurate.

I didn't abuse anyone for their opinions. I pointed out the hypocrisy of using the word mangina while posting a sub which wants to reject gender roles males have been put in.

I find the whole ‘I must make up for the evils of my forefathers’ ridiculous though. I accept white men did some bad things. The next step is to accept that those bad things have led you to have socioeconomic advantages that others do not have those characteristics. Not necessarily feel guilt, but accept that they exist. The final step is to not do those bad things. Not to make up for the evils of your forefathers, but because it's just the right thing to do.

I disagree with the existence of genders and gender roles. They are just social constructs. Therefore, there is no reason for a sub just for discrimination against men to exist. And even if we were to accept that genders exist, the idea that men are more discriminated against than women would not be empirically valid. Yeah, discrimination happens to men, but to dismiss or even vocally oppose the exposition of the same discrimination against women is missing more than half the picture.

I didn't say you didn't have a right to an opinion, I just think the one that forms this sub is not fully thought out. Nor do I have to respect everyone's opinions.

If you're fighting for equality as a white/male/straight/whatever privileged position, you should be able to come to terms with the fact that, "hey, people of my race/gender/etc. have done bad things in the past more than anyone else and do so today, and I'm going to change it." I think that is what's going on in the article, albeit not in a way that connects with white males very well, hence the outrage from it in this sub. Even more profound is accepting the idea that there actually are no rac…

mangina I don't post here, because I disagree with everything this subreddit stands for. However, one of the points that you guys often bring up is that men are often shamed and have their manhood questioned when they do something which does not fit in with their expected gender role of "manliness." You are doing just that by using this word. You find feminism un-manly, so you call him a mangina. Good job, you dumb hypocritical fuck.
/r/MensRights25/07/13 04:21 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
