You totally missed the point. I did say INVESTMENT right? The way to go is INVEST in the right guy when you're young and build that emotional connection with him so he doesn't ditch you when you're older. Yes it has RISK but like I said, NO RISK = NO LOVE. You are correct about the media how female characters, romance seems to always be the central of the theme and as a male it bores me to tears. It actually is a primary reason why I'm less excited about female protagonists in a fiction because this recurring theme is so goddamn overused. Correct. You are not owed respect and you don't owe anybody respect either. Let me also add that seeking external validation will open the doors for you to be used and manipulated like a tool. You should start treating "respect" like you mean business. Don't just give it away so easily like giving away doughnuts. You should only give it out if it benefits you.
