The patriarchy does exist but definitely not the in the West and it’s not what most people think it is either. I lost a friend I knew from high school and even went on a trip with her to Europe. I’m accepting of other people’s beliefs and have a variety of different people in my friend group but for her my beliefs were an issue. It’s unfortunate that she feels like people who don’t agree with her are all bad people.
